Ok I’m being so brave about it but a couple of days ago I saw this post claiming that the Jedi saying ‘this weapon [your lightsaber] is your life’ is emblematic of ‘the Jedi’s failure as peacekeepers’ (not an exact quote but pretty close) because why would a weapon be the life of a peacekeeper?

And like. The Jedi are a culture. They’re a religion.

You know that, right? You know that many cultures, including generally peaceful ones, have sacred weapons, right? You know that the bond between a Jedi and their crystal(s) is an extremely sacred thing that requires the consent of both parties and is integral to their way of life, right?

You know that lightsabers are not intended to be only for killing, right? That the first thing Luke learns to do with his lightsaber is to shield and defend? You know that a culture having sacred weapons doesn’t mean that they view killing as sacred, right?

Sorry, still going, it still rankles the fuck out of me that Kitti doesn't have a Hold named after her. Because logically the savior of Pern, Creator of Dragons, should have something named after her. But for some reason Anne didn't think so? Apparently? Because all the locations were established before the reveal of who made the dragons and how, and it would have been very easy to just, make her the one one of them was named after. She could have been Benden or Telgar, Nerat or Ista, just as easy as giving her a name. And she just, wasn't.

Kitti Ping was, with no exaggeration, one of if not the most important person in Pernese history, and it took over 2000 years and digging up a computer for her name to pass anybody's lips again.

- Snips also has the ability to fall asleep whenever he wants(sometimes even mid conversation if no one’s talking to him)

- Record has a habit of holding onto people awhile talking to them(generally just placing a hand on their shoulder or something)

- Bb has a sticker collection and decorates his armor with them (and others he deems worthy)

- Snips is the oldest

- BB stands for Baby Boy(he is the youngest of the squad)

- Record is a rambler and often repeats stories(got his name from the phrase broken record)

- Jon’s the best shot in the squad

- Bart and Jon are the smartest in the squad (except for Snips)
