Expressive Wands (headcanons)

I’ve been talking with @adellovesrowan and @struckbyelectriclove about wands and I’ve come up w some wand ideas I think are super fun to think about—

What if wands were ‘beings’ rather than just. Magic sticks. What if wands have their own personality. Their own likes and dislikes. Their own quirks. It makes for some dynamic magic (or lack thereof if the wand and its partner aren’t in tune) and adds a personal flare to a wand-wielder’s magic.

What if, like it’s partner, the wand also matured through its experiences with its partner? And it gradually changed personalities as if it was an actual person almost?

What if wands also are in tune to the caster’s emotions too, and they work according to the emotions of its partner, as well as its own. It means they have to learn to work and feel together to create reliable magic.

What if wands physically changed their appearance under certain conditions? Such as growing out spikes or twigs, blooming, literally shining, etc.

What if some wands could choose whether to yield to someone else other than its partner, while others would only cooperate with its partner? What if some wands were finicky and only went off of it’s partner’s judgement of trust in the person?

What if people named their wands?

What is your MC’s wand like? Is it stoic or is it emotional? What is it’s personality and likes and dislikes? Does it change physically depending on circumstances? How is it’s bond with MC?

hmm…i think he probably makes a lot of little quality-of-life improving inventions, but is insecure about how small and seemingly simple they are. not a mad-scientist type like miu, that’s for sure.

this definitely feeds his hero complex, lol. probably also makes his upset at being called ‘stupid’ worse also…just generally not a good talent for him to have, oof. the outfit is definitely sick though, maybe based on his anniversary clothes?

there are two WILDLY different ways this character could go i think. option 1 focuses on the inherent horror of being a sentient sex doll. option 2 is a comic relief character focusing on a robot getting plugged into the internet and immediately becoming comically horny. choose wisely.
