Or maybe i just ran into them at random on the road?I believe it was in fact the optional extra route in the way to the Magic end: having high magic, opting into the narrator's prompt, and then staying on the road another 3 weeks to catch the inbetween location events) They're written in as just another in a long line of generic tropey villains in the whole ongoing The Coven joke in Monster Prom lore. But like????
