Going to the Cannes Film Festival was amazing! From screening my film “Orisha’s Journey” 8 times at their Short Film Corner (which is basically a short film festival within the Festival de Cannes), meeting and speaking with Director Guillermo del Toro, and having the pleasure to watch many wonderful films it was an experience of a lifetime! Sorry for taking so long to share some of my experience on Tumblr here’s a blog below for more details on my trip:) Thanks y’all! -Abdul

PHOENIX QUEST
“The Tree of Life has faded and Death’s Shadow returned …”
Anansi: Last, of the Dreamwalkers, seeks the “Child of Fire” to awaken humanity’s only hope to restore their dying world.
Had the pleasure of attending the Director's talk at Tribeca Film Festival featuring Guillermo del Toro (2nd time meeting him since Cannes!) and hosted by Alec Baldwin. Hi, my film recently played in Brazil's Animage Festival for a special screening of African animation. It's an honor to participate. It's screened at over 50 festivals at this point, and I'm grateful to everyone who helped me on it. Much more to come! #animation #africa #brazil #sankofa #panafricanism #cartoon #thankful #film https://www.instagram.com/p/B4TjfG6DDwF/?igshid=1b4lcb6e5ebsq

A few Backgrounds I did for An Vu’s animated short “Millenial Princess!” Glad to be a part of it:)
Hey y'all got these back from Japan and wanted to share! I also wanted to thank Hiroshima International Animation Festival co-founder and Director Mrs. Sayoko Kinoshita (ASIFA Vice President/ASIFA Japan President) for all her kind words and for screening my film at HIAFF. The festival was built on the premise of taking the center of one of the ugliest acts against humanity (Hiroshima Bombing 1945) and using animation as a platform to promote peace and understanding between all peoples. I feel truly fortunate to have been a part of this year's festival! -Abdul
