Goodbye Queen Elizabeth. You where an amazing woman, and you inspired me a lot with your life.
People say women are a minority; but in fact, it is men who are the smaller group.
More interestingly, men are not born as a minority – as for every 100 female births there are actually 105 male births.
But this male surplus doesn’t stay for long, as over the course of a life time, the number of men is slowly eroded away until the sex ratio shifts.
Yup, in adulthood there are only 97 American men for every 100 women.
So what happened?
Why do men experience higher mortality rates in every age group, and have an overall death rate 1.4 times higher than women?
Why has a problem, so large it literally alters the tectonics of a nation’s population, been so readily ignored?
Why are men’s higher mortality rates so often waved of with, “well that’s just the way it is!”
Perhaps… men are not the ubiquitously privileged gender you’ll hear described, but the disposable one?
I mean isn’t early death a bit more deserving of advocacy and investigation than women having too few pockets, or Babie’s super cool day out?
Are the solutions to men’s issues more serious and complex than social media coddling, and meagre calls for “talk” and male tears?
What about men’s early death?
How do we save our men and boys?

Holy shit. Men actually die from a birth majority into a living minority.
How is this not a huge thing, and why is everyone supposed to be so comfortable with it?
How are we supposed to take seriously the claim of society "privileging" men, when there's no greater privilege than being alive? With "empathy"/"anyone giving a shit" not far behind?
Druidry is based on what we can assume from Ancient Druid traditions. Which includes the religions that were around at the time as well. Now here's a very important thing, we don't know much because the Druids would pass things down through oral tradition, and the Christianization of the Celtic nations caused it to die.
What we know about Ancient Druids: Druid was a job position and status, they did a lot of things like advise, heal, and mediate conflicts.
Modern Druidry is not Ancient Druidry. We literally cannot be like the ancient Druids because we don't know enough about them and we also aren't going to be advising kings that's just- not happening.
Modern Druidry, however, is based in what little we know. No one is claiming it is exact, and if they are, they are wrong.
What we know about the culture where the druids existed: Holidays, clothing, religion (thanks to some Christian priests who wrote myths down during the Christianization of the nations), legends and other mythology not relating directly to religion, the Fair folk (aka Fae).
With what we know about Ancient Druids, and what we know about the culture itself, we have attempted to combine into the religion/spirituality of Modern Druidry. We call ourselves Druids not because we are advisors to kings, but because we are honoring the Ancient Druids that were once spiritual leaders and important members of society. What we follow is hopefully something close to what Ancient Celts would have followed.
Why? For a lot of reasons, but let's just go with the simple answer "because we like it" just like with any damn religion.
This. Just this.
It’s finals but. But. My procrastination brain can’t turn off and it’s past midnight I’ve done maybe an hour of studying. All I’ve done is read fan fiction and watch new competition shows, manhua, and anime I have a problem.
Thinking about posting a fan fic but scared at the same time. I'm a first time author, usually just relegated to editor for others. How do people have the fortitude to post stories? 😑
What an amazing woman, and a personal heroine for me. She's part of what made me fall in love with radiation and want to study it. 💗

Saw this quote by Holly Cassell floating around on here, I don't know the person but I love the sentiment of appreciating fun luxuries in the moment instead of feeling a need to save them for some unknown future time once you feel that it's "earned."

A metaphorical mushroom cloud blows up above his head, turning into a red, hazy cloud haloing his head. Behind him, two lab assistants in protective gear look at him, one reaching over to touch his shoulder. The room around him is getting dark. ]
Don't have a meltdown now, Doc!
