Stagnant kisses linger longer
High and bright on movie screens
Glassy eyes in jars, and secret scars
Blushing vibrant blues and greens
Here lies scattered static stillness
Where dullness drizzles to the bone
Dreams catch and crush lonely reality
The world of which is home sweet home
Fear flies fondly from my throat
A soft, strange sister speaks to me,
Beyond beginning and breathing, will be
Always another adverse anxiety

Thank you to everyone who stuck with me through my long hiatus from this account! Life happened, as it does, and my focus was taken away from writing and creating for quite a while!
I'm so excited to be back in action and actually WRITING again!!
Stay tuned for new poems, and if you're interested in my artwork you can follow @artsymagee on Instagram and Facebook!
Thank you all again, I can't wait to see what the future holds creatively! Glad to be back! (:
Good news is like a good symphony
Close your eyes and listen for hours
The ups and downs of various voices
Monotone or melodic they chime away
Knowledge falling from a fountain
A source unseen and wearily trusted
But it comes so easily from the teeth
That tumble and fall and catch again
A dancer re-footing from a stumble
And off they run from point to point
To one I give a hum and nod
A chorus of opinions from the radio
And on and on the chatter runs

Then one day you wake up
And realize you’re an adult
And you’re rinsing out cans to recycle
Like your father,
And you’re rubbing your aching hands
Like your mother,
And days whisk by much too fast
For your liking,
And imagination starts to decay
Like they told you would happen
And you’re stuck in a meaningless job
You were told to acquire, so you
Would have something to do for awhile
Which meant until the life was
Sufficiently beaten out of you
And your will to live was as slim
As the hair on your head, a lost cause
To the society in which you bear
Upon caving shoulders.
And before you know it,
The world keeps going
On and on without you
As you lie still in the box you spent
The last few pennies you earned on,
Not even allowed to squirm around
And tell if it was worth it.
