The Sleeping Soldier: Alucard Adrian Tepes
Castlevania
I was on the subway today, and when the train got delayed, this little kid was like, “fuck,” and a literal chorus of grown-ups went: “HEY.”
So many of the conversations that Olrox has with other characters are incredibly interesting, with a lot of stuff hidden in between the lines.
One of my favourites is his conversation with Drolta at the graveyard. In their conversation you can see just how little Drolta knows about the New World and what happened there. She tells Olrox that they've seen empires rise and fall, unaware that the empire that Olrox saw fall was his own, talks about how fickle humans are and how they flit from one God to another, again unaware that Christianity was forced upon the Aztecs and many other cultures in the Americas in an attempt to wipe out the indigenous religions and gods.
And Olrox, being the intelligent man that he is, hears Drolta talking about her human life as a priestess of Sekhmet he decides to test Drolta by bringing up the fact that her goddess and her temples are now lost and buried.
And Drolta doesn't care, she doesn't feel that loss of her culture or her past. She isn't sad. But Olrox, a man who doesn't have that kind of belief and has never been particularly religious, you know that he feels the loss of the Aztec temples, that he is still saddened by the loss of his people's religion.
And then we get the line about making a new world, and Olrox states that he's heard that one before and Drolta states that let's make this one last. And again she hasn't done her homework as she doesn't realise that the last time Olrox heard that it would have been the Spanish as they conquered and almost wiped out his people.
It's yet another important difference between old world and new world vampires. The old simply don't take the time to learn and realise just how different the lives of vampires like Olrox are compared to theirs. They just simply assume that they are the same because they are vampires. But we can see from Olrox they couldn't be anymore different.
she's a 10 but she's constantly day dreaming ab a fictional man railing her.
Honestly “thanks I hate it” is one of the funniest phrases in the English language
I was watching spanish channel news and the anchor said "until something changes we will be waiting here to report on the next massacre" and those words hit me so hard
I don't know who the fuck needs to hear this, but to tell any creator the quality of their work has gone down or is lacking is rude as hell. we are real people with real lives, giving you fucking content to comfort you, give you the good cry you need, or for you to get off to for fucking free.
what? you think we do nothing all day long and just write or draw? fuck you. we have jobs, school, relationships and families outside of this hellsite.
it costs zero fucking dollars to mind your fucking business and keep quiet, especially if you're one of the people who consumes content without liking, reblogging, or creating anything yourself. and if you're a creator tearing others down, fuck you too. how would you feel if someone told you that your content isn't what it used to be or that it sucks now?
and if you're someone who uses backhanded comments and makes anyone lose the love of what they do, go fuck yourself. i'm tired of seeing the subtle and unsubtle hatred aimed at those who are juggling so much yet still putting out fics or works of art. and if you have a problem with me saying something here's what you can do:
