Lives of children and newborns put at risk by living conditions in Gaza | MSF

At Nasser hospital in South Gaza, we consulted more than 10,000 children for upper respiratory tract infections in five months.

Samah (@/samah-2) is a mum to a newborn little boy, a two year old little girl, and their big sister who's only 9. Living in a tent has been miserable for the whole family: boiling and eaten alive by insects in summer, freezing and soaked to the bone in winter. It provides no protection from the relentless IOF bombing either: they all survived the IOF's attack on Mawasi just over a week ago, left rattled by how close it was but there's nowhere to escape to. On top of it, basic supplies like food are unimaginably difficult to get. Aid is still not getting in & famine has spread south too.

The situation in Gaza is probably the worst its been in the entire 14 months of this genocide. The conversations of a potential ceasefire don't really mean anything: the immediate threat of death remains.

Despite this, Samah's campaign has recently started slowing down badly; it'll make chances of evacuation slim, but the more immediate concern is starvation. Her original account (@samah-h) got shadowbanned, limiting her ability to campaign right now too.

Hello, I'm hamdi 🇵🇸 After 100 days of displacement, my family and I found ourself forced to leave our home and land in Gaza. 🏡💔 The journey to Egypt was not a choice, but a necessity imposed by the harsh conditions. we crossed the border, carrying with us scattered dreams and hopes for a better life, but we quickly realized that displacement was not the end of the suffering, but the beginning of a new chapter.

In Egypt, we are stuck between a bitter alienation and a painful reality. 😔🚧 We do not have residency, which makes every step difficult and every day full of challenges. Prices in Egypt resources are unforgiving, and the ones we brought with us are quickly melting away. 💸 While we try to endure and survive, our hearts remain attached to Gaza; The homeland that never leaves our minds or leaves us for a moment. 🇵🇸💔 Our loved ones there live under siege, and we live under the burden of alienation and worry for them. politicians everywhere, ironically including israeli politicians, are condemning a presidential candidate getting nicked on the ear. the president of the united states called for "both sides to turn down the political temperature". meanwhile the violence only escalates in palestine, a 14 year old trans girl was recently murdered and dismembered in pennsylvania, the puberty blocker ban in the uk is moving towards becoming permanent. the whole world is on fire and leaders of the "free world" want us to mourn for the booboo of a presidential candidate whose goal is to make the lives of millions of people in america and abroad harder. in such a dichotomous time we cannot lose sight of whats going on, our goals of liberation. no one's free til everyone's free, a better world is possible. i will keep repeating this over and over again until we get that better world.

We have been through many wars before, but this war was not like the ones before it. Our lives were turned upside down. We became displaced from one place to another. We are the Anas family, residents of northern Gaza, specifically in the Shujaiya area. In the first week of the war, we fled our home because everyone considered our home to be in a dangerous area. We moved to the Rimal area, specifically in the middle of Gaza. There, we received the news that our home, which contained all our beautiful memories, was bombed. Suddenly, it was gone!!! Just thinking that your home, which you worked hard on and built from scratch and took a lot of your life, was gone in less than a second ! After a while, we left the sands to the Al-Zawaida area because of the heavy shelling. We stayed there for about two weeks, and then the terrorist army asked us to go to Rafah. We actually fled for the fourth time to Rafah and stayed there for two months, some of the most difficult days of our lives, as there was no way or means to live a normal life. 😔😔 After that, because of the invasion of Rafah, we moved to Deir al-Balah. Now, we are in very difficult and oppressive circumstances.

We are asking you with all shame to support and stand by us in these difficult circumstances that everyone knows because we lost our home, our work and any stable source of income. Thank you all.
