kogane and his right hand man \o/
akira kogane confirmed to be the cutest pilot in the galaxy
đ đźđâ¨
Man, I see so many people having like no faith in Keithâs leadership abilities and so many cries of âanyone but Keith for black lion!â haha, so I just wanna point some stuff out.
See, Shiro actually has alot of nerve saying this to Keith after what happened last season..
Remember this:
Remember how no one listened to Keith here? And you know what happened?Â
They failed.Â
If Thace didnât interfere they would have all been captured by the Galra and Zarkon would have gotten Voltron.Â
Their plan sucked, and Shiro was clearly acting out of emotion, going against his own better judgement. (Because he was probably scared that whatever happened to him would happen to Allura or something, too broken about having more of his teammates captured by the Galra on his watch I dunno.)
Donât think that Shiro missed the fact that they all got out of there in one piece just by pure luck and nothing else.
Maybe heâs sayin there to Keith âdonât be like meâ or âI know youâre better than thisâ on the way to the BoM base..
And remember this:
You know what would have happened if Keith listened to Shiro? Shiro wouldnât have made it in time to the black lion and Zarkon would have gotten it, and then they would have lost Voltron.
(Maybe going against Zarkon on his own like that was rash and emotionally driven (for some mysterious reason..), but it was the right thing to do in that situation.)Â
And did you notice how everytime Shiro is out of commission (which happens ALOT), Keith immediately steps in?
Did you notice how Keith is constantly worried about Shiro and how many times he has to go âShiro are you ok?â but Shiro doesnât really do that with Keith? How Shiro always has nothing but blind faith that Keith can do anything? (compared to the other paladins too, because Shiro does believe in all of them)
(and yeah I kno Keith dun got PTSD.. and Shiro does an amazing job keeping it together despite what heâs been through.. But having a leader that freezes up so much at unexpected moments during battles is usually not exactly a safe thing for the team⌠(although he seems to get better in season 2..) And I think It might be hard to notice just how bad Shiro is doing and how seriously heâs affected by what happened to him and how he was probably not the best choice for leader at that point, like he got most of team voltron fooled Iâm sure alot of viewers were fooled aswell haha, I mean I havenât really seen many ppl say anything about Shiro not being exactly the perfect leader for Voltron after season 1 aired..)
And you kno, Iâm not even talking season two, like the way Keith is with Hunk there in âbelly of the weblumâ. Keithâs leadership abilities show so early on in the show Iâm surprised people seem to miss it
Remember this?
That whole episode was all âleader Keithâ haha
Really, I canât be the only one that during my first watch of Voltron (before I even saw the 80â˛s one) that was thinking âWhy the hell is Keith not the leader? Why is this Shiro guy the leader?â
Like yeah, Keithâs decisions are rash (although logical), and heâs a very âstrive for contactâ kind of guy, and pretty harsh on the team, but itâs obvious itâs only because he cares so much about what theyâre doing (and really wants to prove himself I guess.)
And honestly, I would feel way safer following a guy like Keith than a guy like Shiro, because Shiro just makes me worried all the time haha (and heâs so soft..) While Keith, Keith really seems like someone that can do anything. No matter how hopeless the situation is and how all the odds are against him, heâll manage to make things work somehow. Just by pure determination. AND HE MAKES SENSE. (although he does need help with figuring out ways to do things other than just facing em head on haha)
And really, I think his decisions have been better than Shiroâs so far.. (to the point I was wondering why Keith is the one who follows Shiro and not the other way around. Iâm sorry, I just dun get why he really needs Shiro besides for Shiro to hold him back, heâs clearly not depended on him and has no trouble doing anything on his own, (his problem is maybe just doing too much haha)
And this is kinda what I think Shiro sees in Keith too.Â
Like, this whole episode
That seemed to me like it was about Shiro realizing he really fucked up as a leader. They are scattered across the universe, he is dying, they dunno where the lions are and if the rest of them are even alive. Maybe in this moment Shiro was thinking âYou know what, maybe I should have listened to Keith and not gone on this mission..â
Anyway, bottom line:
I think Shiro admires Keith alot, and I think he knows Keith has something in him that he himself doesnât have, and I think he looks up to Keith just as much as Keith looks up to him.
And maybe this is exactly why Keithâs faith in him really touches him and is so important to him, because it comes from a person he really admires. Itâs different from the blind faith the other team members have in him. Keith can see his mistakes, Keith can see his weakness, and he is still able to see something in Shiro that I think makes Shiro have faith in himself.Â
And thatâs what good leaders do. They encourage and inspire people to be and do their best.Â
Kinda like what Shiro does for Keith too.. (They pretty much have an equal exchange there, but I think the âspace dadâ fanon thing has just completely blinded everyone.)
And you know, I dun think Shiro wants Keith to follow him anymore, I think he wants to follow Keithâs lead instead.
and I couldnât agree more! Keithâs got what it takes.
800+ words, 2D goes to visit Murdoc in prison. Set in phase 5, their new home in LA even though Iâm pretty sure Murdoc is still in the UK weâre just gonna roll w it.
********
âOh, I almost forgot- I brought you some pictures!â
Murdoc visibly perked up, straightening in his seat and eagerly accepting the photos that 2D slid through the gap at the bottom of the glass divider. The singer watched him as he fanned the pictures put like cards and scanned all of them as if he was looking for something, he looked taken aback.
âThese are⌠pictures of all of us. Of the whole band.â Though he looked disappointed, Stuart didnât miss the way he gingerly tucked the polaroids into his pocket, careful not to crease them. âI was uh⌠hoping for something a little bit more⌠personal if ye catch my drift.â The bassist grinned and raised his eyebrows suggestively.
2D smiled to himself and rolled his eyes, not that anyone could tell. âYouâre sâpossed to be out of here in what, a month? âM not sneaking you naked pictures of me. You know the guards check everyfing I bring in anyway.â
Murdoc sighed dramatically. âFeels like an eternity without you, faceache.â
Stu laughed. Maybe he wouldâve been more upset at their situation if this was the first time, or the second, or even the third separate occasion that heâs visited his boyfriend in some kind of jail or prison. He supposed the novelty of it had worn off by now, and at this point Murdocâs occasional stints of incarceration were more a nuisance than anything. Besides, he had a relatively short sentence this time and had, to his credit, put in an effort not to get in further trouble while he was inside. It was looking like he may even get off early this time around on good behavior.
âThen Iâm sure it will seem even more special when you get home then, yeah?â
Murdoc changed the subject. âHowâs moving going?â
â âs alwright⌠Noodle and Russ âave settled in fine. I still âavent really unpacked yet. Still dunno what room I want, feels weird choosing without you andâŚâ He trailed off, not sure how to broach the subject, the setting of this conversation didnât make it much better.
âWhat?â
He took a deep breath. âWell⌠I sorta wanted us to uh- I wanted us to share a room this time âround and I wanted yew to be there when we picked which one.â He looked down as he twirled the telephone cord in his hands, concentrating on the way it wrapped around his fingers rather than on what Murdoc was thinking.
The bassist shifted in his seat uncomfortably.
âI mean⌠I dunno, Dents Iâve never done anything like that before-â His expression was uncertain, and a little uncomfortable. But that was alright- it just meant that he was actually considering it
âWell,â 2D cut in hurriedly. âWe already sleep in the same bed nearly every night, and it doesnât mean we have to keep all our stuff there- the house has enough space for you to âave an office or whatevah. I just⌠I thought itâd be nice âs all.â He looked up at Murdoc, trying to read his face.
âAn office huh? Yâknow⌠I like the sound of that.â
He leaned forward in his seat a little, now excited. âSo are yew saying yes?â
Murdoc nodded and 2D broke into a wide grin. The bassist sighed. âStu, ya know I was being serious earlier right? It really does feel like forever in here⌠I- I really do miss you. I didnât realize how used to yew Iâve gotten. Feels weird sleeping without your sodding giraffe limbs hitting me every ten seconds.â
Stuart smiled, he was touched but also deeply sad now at the divider between them, wanting nothing more at that moment than to embrace his boyfriend, or at the very least grasp his hand. A guard from the other side of the room called out. âYou have two minutes.â On Murdocâs side other prisoners started getting up from their booths, on his side visitors were signing out and retrieving their bags. 2D sighed, he wished they had more time.
âHold on just a bit more, Muds; it wonât be much longerâ
Murdoc smiled sadly and nodded. 2Dâs chest ached. He wished they could hug. Instead, he kissed his fingertips and pressed his hand gently against the glass, Murdoc did the same and they lined their fingers up as well as they could- 2D had longer, thinner fingers than Murdoc but they made do. He tried to pretend he could feel the warmth of Murdocâs hand through the glass, feel the texture of his skin.
The guard spoke loudly again. âTimeâs up. Line up for inspection.â
Murdoc sighed and took his hand down. âSee you soon, Stu.â
2D nodded before blurting out. âI love you.â
Murdoc just smiled. âLove you too, Faceache. Be out soon.â And just like that, he was gone in a blur of other inmates, all filing away.
That night 2D unpacked his clothes into one of the larger bedrooms in the house, leaving half the space in the large dresser empty for when the bassist returned. He put his blankets on the king sized bed but used Murdocâs sheets, he drifted off that night gently tracing his hand and inhaling the smell of Murdocâs aftershave and stale cigarettes.
I wanted to draw Lance reacting to galra Keith but then I just
Do you believe in past lives? Lance certainly does. This is a tale of two star crossed lovers and how their love transcended both death and time itself.Â
Since weâre allowed to tease for the @voltronbang 2017, hereâs is ours! I am grateful for this event that it introduced me to the lovely @knightlychika and her lovely art! We hope to see you on August 1st! The event starts on July 30!Â
With Keith as the âsubmissiveâ or âbottomâ of the relationship? I just want some fluff and all I find is smut. uHu
