Immortal Dreams

What do gods dream of?

Do they dream of humanity?

or the beauty of life

and the silence of death?

do they wish they could feel the earth

instead of watching from above?

or do they not dream

of the life they have missed

instead gods dream of gold flowing rivers

and silver lined leaves

with shining skies of generations

are they still there dreaming

when they rest their head

on feather soft pillows

do they dream of what it is to love?

or how to be loved more by others

maybe gods do not dream at all.

they do not sleep

only watch and wait and wait

watching the skies they control pass

century after century

and no wrinkle lines their face

but if they did?

would it be of love?

of what experiences they will never have?

or of everything they already do

gods do not dream

but what if they did?

but god have dreamers

while they watch and wait and wait

they watch the dreams of children

and the dreams of wives

and the dreams of soldiers

Gods know what it is like to be human

they live through our dreams

our hopes and our love and our death

gods do not dream

but we do.
