Ive been taking my art in a more manga / anime inspired direction lately so here I tried a lot of new techniques. This was my first time using screen tone and Action lines in a piece. The Japanese should say “Good Househusband”, I checked everywhere To make sure this was the right way to write it but I’m still learning so it may be incorrect. I’m also not sure if I over used the screen tone but I really like how it looks.
Overall the content of this piece was inspired by me finally taking a stab at cleaning my apartment lol. Sadly it isn’t as clean as the picture would suggest.(or as big 😅)
i'm just curious bc i'm watching How to Train Your Dragon and i always forget how happy and calm it makes me feel. i mean, i did name my cat after Toothless the dragon. but i also love Lion King, that's my Disney comfort movie. and my Ghibli comfort movie is Spirited Away. watching any of these when i'm in a foul mood or my anxiety is high always helps 🥰 but i watch them just for fun too, not only when i'm in a mood. what about you?
My gfs new character design
This was the first time I tried to digitally draw a person. I was still using a mouse and Ms Paint at this time. I had just learned the trick to making a certain color transparent when selecting. That's how I made the web like hairband and sleeves. Her name is Rachel.
I wouldn't call her an OC because there was no thought put into her character or story. Honestly the real story she tells is a piece of me coming to the realization I was Lgbtq+. I was very smitten with her.
It really depends. For me its a matter of mood, energy, and what exactly I'm reading.
I have dyslexia so ebooks can be great since i can change the font and size. For some books I have to do that because the paper books font is strange (like hand written looking).
I really love the feel of paper books and they make me happy. but theres no zoom, color changing, font changing, etc. and i can lose them which isn't great.
Comics are nice and easy in either form but sometimes worth physical comics the text is still too small.
I love audio books but i cant do anything else with them on because i'll zone out and miss whats being said and have to rewind.
However, what I'm reading matters too. For instance, I prefer anything that may have triggering content (horror, true crime, etc.) in either ebook or paper form so i can skim and skip sections when i need to.
And sometimes its a matter of energy. Sometimes i'm just too tired to read, in that case I'll listen to an audiobook. Other times I'm over stimulated and need a good paper book to get away from the screens.
This isn't really the question but there's also the matter of availability, i don't have access to as many paper books as I do ebooks so regardless of preference i read a lot more ebooks by default.
Been thinking a lot about reading and getting information from text recently as someone with ADHD so I'm curious
I hate to say reblog to increase sample size but my following is pretty small and I'd like to get actual input on this, so if you wanna toss a reblog after you answer that'd be much appreciated <3
My girlfriend Ivy just made her first finished piece! I started teaching her to draw a few months ago from nothing and now we’re here, I’m so proud of her!
A little study recreation for fun

An old self portrait of me and my babies ❤️
Jira is home to many intelligent species other than humans.
to date there are
Silfs - human like creatures with horns and fluffy hair who are always some variant of red & blue
Avians - Bird people
Ramlans - mountain species with tough hairs like wool and horns
Iora - stationary mushroom people
Ghosts - beings made of Artificial Magic
Merpeople - an overall term for a variety of sea born intelligent life
Crystalites - beings of sentient crystal
Halfling Crystalites - corpses controlled by parasitic sentient crystals, unrelated to the crystals of the Crystalites despite the name
Grotton - ape-like creatures who originate from the darkest parts of the Ridge
Hybrids - half animal people the result of wild magic sickness
Shifters - animals who can shift into a semi-human form
Many of these species overlap with humans due to the the grip human traits have on Jiran evolution and the fact that many species are evolved forms of humans for particular environments
I call him Axetrap lol, this was so much fun to draw.
Gourd Trees, or Tuttaps are not actually trees at all. They are an evolved form of gourd with a hollow center, surrounding flesh, and hard outer rind. Not all forms are edible but those that are are often staple foods of their region.
Gourd Trees come in as many varieties as there are gourds. They always grow from a smaller gourd and either grow larger or stack to create height. They seem to have developed in the aftermath of spreading Chloromites killing off local trees so the gourds grew taller and replaced the local trees as shelter for birds and other animals. The animals eat and spread the Gourd Tree's seeds.
