Thinking about rare quirk mutations.

Like... there are so many characters (especially villains omg) where if they had just. developed a normal quirk/their family quirk/were quirkless they wouldn't have been plot relevant at all really.

You have Shigaraki, and Toga, and Eri (plus some that I feel are maybe implied but I'm not 100% on) and the only reason why they are here and important is because they developed a powerful quirk at a sucky time and doomed themselves at least a little.

Shigaraki obviously (and I may be missing some lore here but wtv) who just so happens to develop a devastating quirk immediately after a terrible fight with his family so it's the perrrrfect time to just disintegrate all of them

Eri who develops her quirk and of course the first thing she rewinds is her dad and then she gets sent away/experimented on.

I almost want to say "quirk singularity" but these aren't powers that increased in strength over generations and generations. These are just random mutations that are powerful AF and fate these kids to crappy lives because how are you supposed to live normally with power that immense??

Listen I can’t even write this like I’m live reacting but my thoughts were along the likes of “hmmmm what’s this now? Maybe he’s breaking free and going to be Shirakumo and be happy :) :) :)”…

Here I was like: “what the heck man, he was getting better!! But you know what, maybe he’ll get better when Shigaraki dies and this is a temporary regression.”

And here I EXPERIENCED THE FIVE STAGES OF GRIEF ALL AT ONCE BECAUSE THEY REALLY HAD TO DESTROY THE TWO HUNDRED CHAPTERS I HAD TO WAIT BEFORE THE FLASHBACK AND NOW HES GONE-GONE at least i’m pretty sure he is from his particles literally fading away and I know this might seem like an overly strong reaction to the death of a character that had barely any time in the main series but I have a deep appreciation for Shirakumo and he deserved better than this. Maybe this is all a fake-out and those particles are the Kurogiri-ness leaving him and now he’s free to be Shirakumo free of Kurogiri and that may be stupid but that’s all I have.

Anyway yayyy the conclusion we’ve been waiting for since chapter/episode one I’m happy that we got here but did we really have to sacrifice Shirakumo to do it? I don’t think so. Looking forward to a sparse amount of panels with Hawks and Tokoyami, but my pride and joy is now deceased :(

They made such a big deal saving the reveal of what Aizawa and Yamada were doing. If they throw that all away and he dies again I might actually cry.

Anyway love the promise of what’s happening next, coming full circle with the class and that, Aizawa fathering his class again just like old times. Bittersweet to be sure. Sad that Tokoyami’s passed out in the middle of a crater with severe burns so he can’t be there but you can’t win ‘em all you know

Oh my god Cass the WAY Leo looks at those pictures! The way!! That he!!! He looks at his future self and he seems someone spectacular and unbelievable, but he looks at future Donnie and just sees his brother and he sees his brother wasting away in cut time through photographs and he HAS to know, he HAS to know because they are STILL TWINS, even in a situation where he could never possibly have experienced this with him, they are TWINS and he NEEDS to know, he needs to ask, he has to see, he can't leave these pictures out of his heart because he isn't seeing some adult that used to be his brother but is someone else's brother now, he is seeing his twin, who he loves, who he wants to become bigger with and help and protect and love and I'm so sorry about the run-on sentence I just!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
