ANGST WARNING

After the events of the movie, Donnie had an extreme fear of death, he tried to avoid anything that made him think of it so he’d spend much more time than usual inventing and working on projects to keep his mind of the thought of dying

(This is sort of backed up by the fact there was a deleted scene from the movie where Donnie notices Casey using past tense, and he asks if he dies in that timeline just that scene kinda makes me think he started to develop a fear of dying)
