After he managed to "imprision" Alu (wasn't a easy process btw), he forced it to "heal" his leg. If Alu leaves john's body the wound would reappear. John likes being finally able to walk normally and being able to RUN, although if he tried to in his human/default version after a bit he would get easily exhausted due to not being totally used to it and his age LMAO.

While he's "half-possessed" or in control of Alu he's WAY more fast, strong and agile (inhumanly even maybe) due to well, duh demonic stuff yk yk.

In this state his receptivity to fear decreases considerably, he becomes more coldly calculating and serious, less clumsy and anxious. Although it doesn't mean those things are absolutely gone, this only applies on serious occasions, death or fight ones, he preserves his silliness. (in this state he can still be uncomfortable with clowns but not to the point of panic). Meanwhile his senses and perceptivity become higher.

trench coat john hours! in his half possessed form alu gave him a tail that is not very big but quite difficult to hide just to tease him, that's why the trench coat helps a LOT. at first he unconsciously used to wiggle it when happy or excited abt something, like a dog. but with lisa's help now he can control it, at least in public spaces.
