I'm working on the dollhouse kitchen today. Countertops and cupboards are now under construction. ✏📏📐✂🛠 You know what's awesome about being a creative, being a maker? That a person can do anything, make anything, fix what needs to be fixed. And have the empowerment to solve problems or puzzles, even when they require another person's help or expertise. I have friends that can create amazing things with the mediums they have chosen to express themselves with. Be that expression come through painting, needle arts, coding, building, paperarts, whatever it is, we are makers, artists, doers, and crafters. There really isn't a distinction. When it comes to self-expression, we are all part of a larger community that should embrace all of our differences. We can't afford to be elitists and exclusionary because its those innovators and dreamers that can and will push us and help us to become the best we can be. On March 8th, this year, I reached out to @Mattel to ask about finding replacement parts for the #barbie Glam Getaway House that she had gotten as a gift. I asked if parts were available and if I could purchase them, since Mattel does offer certain replacement parts for sale on their website for most of their brands. The response I received was quick and unexpected. I figured I'd never hear back, or if they did respond, it would be an "out of luck!" Instead @Mattel replied the next day, was courteous, they found similar replacement pieces for the #barbiehouse, and didn't charge me a dime for them!😄 I am very grateful to the customer service reps at Mattel for their fantastic job. They have earned a new fan of @barbie in my daughter and have managed to bring me back into the #barbiefandom now as a parent and purchaser of #matteltoys (and former #barbiefangirl as a kid). Hello! Apologies for the long period of silence! I have been a *bit* busy taking care of the farm, the Tiny Tyrant Terror (aka, Leocadia🙄) and... *drum roll, please* . . . finishing my mum's #quilt!!! I am so proud of this one😍, it fits over a twin size bed, and is soooo pretty! I used cotton fabric, thread, and batting from @joann_stores The batting is an organic cotton, sturdy, easy to lay out, and is thin enough for me to sew on my 8 year old #brothersewingmachine All that's left to do is wash it, iron it out, fold it up, wrap it, and gift it to my mum❤🎂 But keep this between you and me! Mum doesn't know about it!🦊🤫🤐
