Ok so, Satan is Diavolo's biological son and I won't take no for an answer.

When Lucifer and Diavolo first met they did the naked worm with each other. Unprotected. and when Lucifer cut his wings off that was the equivalent of birth, the real reason Diavolo gave them a free house is cause he wants to be a good baby daddy but Lucifer doesn't want him directly involved in their sons life.

Drabble ask game

"I'm gonna kill myself."

Barbatos's eye twitches in slight annoyance on Diavolo breaking his afternoon alone tea time. "And why is that exactly you have taken this decision?", the butler sighs, putting down his cup of tea.

"MC.....they're angry with me", now that peaks Barbatos's interest. You hardly ever manage to lose your temper with the prince.

He struggles to be proper and not laugh out loud at the sunken look on Diavolo, though he smiles amused. The young royal looks like the embodiment of a kicked puppy, fidgeting with the hem of his cloth as he takes a seat opposite to him with sad eyes.

"Did you do something to make them angry?"

"Well that's the problem, I don't know what I did!", Diavolo whines out. "They haven't talked to me all day-", and he goes back to fidgeting nervously, now with the teaspoon on the table. "Do you think they hate me?"

"I'm sure they don't, and I would suggest talking with them as communication is very important", his eagerness to make Diavolo leave threatens to slip through the cracks of his composed smile.

"Oh yeah....i'm sure that will help!", Diavolo's eyes light up in shine as he excitedly gets up, "thank you, Barbatos!"

Barbatos huffs in annoyance as the dust on this lampshade just refuses to part with it. Its been a few hours after talking with Diavolo. And Barbatos begrudgingly went back to work when he realized his tea had went cold.

The ping! of his D.D.D interrupts his thoughts.

Turns out, they were just busy and couldn't find the time to talk to me!

What a funny incident, don't you think? Hahahaha!

Barbatos isn't sure if he can keep working and living under these conditions anymore.

Headcanon: In an attempt to make Moon more likeable/less scary to kids, the company added the Daycare Theater, (which is obviously dark) for Moon to take the children and watch shows/movies every now and then, its typically framed in a “sneaky” way, as if they’re doing something they shouldn't be, in contrast of how he acts at nap time

this is kinda selling into the Moon is different in the day vs the night (security mode/hacked)  where he’s nicer in the daytime///

He, like Sun, really likes kids and doesn't like the fact that his programing and appearance cause most of them to fear him, so.. in any time other than “nap time” when he gets to be around children he really plays up him kindness, volume and general moral /energy, basically trying to copy Sun in any way he can, typically exhausting/overworking himself far over his own limit with his obviously less extreme personality.

Now that I think about it while also considering we now know that Diavolo was raised by Barbatos- it makes sense he "favors" Lucifer over Barbie (and says Lucifer is his most trusted something or another)

It also explains why Barbie doesn't outwardly seem upset by it even in the most subbest of subtext, I mean.- if I had a loser son like Diavolo I'd be pretty hyped for him making a single (1) friend >>

Anyways.

Barbatos is just his dad, and yes the word *just* feels insulting but it's true. (Assuming you have friends) you'd know that often times they become a main focus for us over our family, especially as we age and create an identity for ourselves. Family- and most importantly parents in this case, tend to take a backseat to lovers and your closest friend(s).

And it's not necessarily a bad thing! A parent- In a healthy best case scenario, takes the role as someone you can fall back on, someone who is there for you and can provide paternal comfort- and this is exactly the role Barbatos is beginning to take in Diavolo's life as he becomes the next demon king! Diavolo can absolutely not be dependent on Barbie forever, he has to fully grow up one day, and therefore NEEDS to find other people who he can be dependent on in a hopefully healthy way, ie. His right hand man, Lucifer.

(And MC and Levi but fuck those two).

Yes, in some nightmare timeline if Diavolo had to choose between one living and one dying for any reason he'd pick Barbatos. Obviously.

So, tldr; Barbatos is Diavolo's dad, Lucifer is his by proximity best friend and Diavolo is- while oh so excruciatingly slowly- growing as a person and we should follow Barbatos' lead and encourage our baby boy.

And ya, okay maybe it took Diavolo a few more million years than a normal child and also he isn't a child but hey! It worked out I think >:) ;;
