An Icy, Hollow Bed

An icy, hollow bed

Where i lay down to sleep

A coffin as the bedframe

And earth as my sheets

My brother says goodnight to me

My father tucks me in

My mother sings a lullaby

About things that could have been

The world has never looked so gray

Or that is how is seems

As mother whispers in my ear

"Goodnight," she cries, "sweet dreams."

Let me stain your face

With kisses

And your heart with my love

So that my color

Will blend with yours

To become a painted sky

Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.

Armed only with paper

And pensive looks

Ink in my veins

Blood in my books

Tears staining a blank page

I do not live to write

Instead I find the opposite

When inspiration strikes

Graveyard At Midnight

The crow caws once.

A shiver down my spine

I wanted nothing more than to preserve what was mine.

The crow caws again.

Another eerie cry

I tried to fight fate, but you cant win with a lie.

The crow caws once more

A body in the ground

No headstone to mark, only soil in a mound.

The crow falls silent.

The empty only grows

The last attempt to hide my sins, causes them to show.

Thoughts on Beauty #1

There are many misconceptions regarding beauty. People think that it is only what is pleasing to the eye, however, they couldn't be more wrong.

Beauty is the good that leads us to truth, no matter what form it may take.

Thoughts on Beauty #7

The stars hold infinity. Each one is unique and bright, each one is thousands of miles apart and yet still together in one sky- that is why they are beautiful. Is the same not true for humans? We are each different and still connected, and each one of us holds a light inside of ourselves that can change the world. Are we not beautiful in the same way that stars are? Do we not hold infinity in the same way that they do?

There are so many eyes

Glowing in the dark

Watching me

Waiting until i slip.

It is maddening

The disembodied cackles

Mocking me

Not with words,

But with laughter.

Awaiting my failure

Do you see the eyes?

Do you hear the sounds?

Am i the only one

Who is

Going insane?

Thoughts on Love #11

You were a silent storm. Looming until finally you broke and I was washed out by downpours and blinded by lightning. Although it wasn't the thunder that rocked my world, only when I reached the eye of the storm did I see the peace and stillness of your true self- the one that I fell in love with. That was the part that shook my world, creating a new storm inside myself

I inhale lemon.

A sweet breath

That ushers in my sleep,

So then i waver

Into a state

Filled with nothing

Except the scent

Of tangerine dreams.
