A veces pienso que Spock no tiene ni idea de que McCoy está ligando con él. Claro que a veces se da cuenta, pero algunas expresiones no las conocerá.

Todo el mundo recibiendo y regalando cosas a la gente mientras Spock mira, pensado lo ilógica que es esa fiesta. ¿Por qué es ilógica? Quizás porque él cree que el amor debe desarrollarse todos los días del año, con paciencia y cuidado, y no le encuentra el sentido a mostrarlo en masa en aquel momento.

Everyone receiving and giving things to people while Spock watches, thinking how illogical this party is. Why is it illogical? Maybe because he believes that love should be developed every day of the year, with patience and care, and he doesn't see the point of showing it massively at that moment.

McCoy, por el contrario, quiere enseñarle al vulcaniano que ese día especial se celebra para llevar más allá el amor. No es una simple fiesta que se olvida el día siguiente; es el instante para preguntarse a uno mismo si lo está dando todo a la persona que más quiere. O, por el contrario, para dar el primer paso en una relación.

McCoy, on the other hand, wants to teach the Vulcan that this special day is celebrated to take love further. It's not a simple celebration that is forgotten the next day; it's the moment to ask yourself if you are giving everything to the person you love the most. Or, on the contrary, to take the first step in a relationship.

Hi all, I'm a Spanish woman. I was born in Spain and lived all my life in this country.

I'm a lot offended (and I'm sure every Spanish person who reads it will be). If you don't know about Spain, don't say anything (@lightdancer1)

When classifications of this kind appear, it is very important to know the criteria that have been taken into account to establish a classification; depending on the values chosen, the classification can change considerably. These are the criteria offered by the World Health Organisation:

Patients' rights and waiting lists

Long waiting lists lead to the chronification of illnesses and even deaths due to the failure to provide the required medical service in time.

Prevention

We usually think of healthcare as acting exclusively in the face of an already acquired disease, but these rankings also take into account prevention programmes and all the actions carried out to prevent transmition of illnesses in the population.

Access to free healthcare

Even if the medical service provided is excellent, if there is no service that reaches the majority of the population, one cannot speak of quality medical services.

Eficiency

The capacity of a public medical service to provide solutions to patients.

Life expectancy

It is well established that quality health systems, in combination with other factors, ensure a longer life for the population.

Public investment in health

In this case, I don't talk about total investments, but in percentages, usually in relation to the country's GDP.

According to these criteria, Spain is ranked 7th and the US 37th.

The Law recognizes the right of all citizens and foreigners to obtain the benefits of the health care system.

With the approval in 1997 of Law 15/1997 on new forms of health center management, the door was opened in Spain to the construction of new private hospitals paid for with public funds and to the privatization of health care management.

That is to say, if you aren't from Spain and you have an accident, you will be treated immediately if your life depends on it. And because the health care is public, operations are not as expensive as in countries with private health care. If it's a non-urgent operation, there's a list in order of when you requested it. From this point on, I contradict the words of @lightdancer1 :

First of all, the term "first world" refers to those countries that have achieved a very high Human Development Index (HDI) and Inequality-adjusted HDI (IHDI), these countries enjoy the highest possible standards of living, thanks to good health, life expectancy and quality of services.

HDI of Spain is 0,904 points out of 1 and the life expentancy is 83,58 years. So, nobody should say that Spain is a backward country or things like that.

Secondly, Franco's dictatorship ended MORE 50 YEARS AGO. Nowadays, the current government of Spain is leftist, i.e., just the opposite of fascism. Spain is a monarchical, democratic country, in which the king has no power, he only represents the country on trips abroad when the president cannot go.

So, WE ARE NOT RULED BY KINGS. We are a monarchic country but the crown doesn't have any power. Just because my country has a monarchy doesn't mean it's like the monarchies of 10 centuries ago.

Spain was very influenced by medieval times, that's reflected in the old buildings, but that doesn't mean that we're proud of everything that our country did in that era. If you don't believe it, study some Spanish history.

Last of all, something I don't like is that Spain is only associated with Sevillanas, paella and bullfighting. You are totally wrong. It's something that is part of our culture, but not in all regions. In fact, in my region they don't dance sevillanas and there are hardly any bullfights anymore. About bullfighting, there is a lot of controversy: many Spaniards are in favour and many others are against. I would appreciate it if you would stop adding bullfighting to any post that talks about Spain, if you don't mind.

Lo que más me gusta en la vida es el humor. No hay nada como reírse, de cualquier cosa. No importa que sea un chiste ingenioso o una simple tontería; si me hace reír, ya me siento feliz. What I like most in life is humour. There's nothing like laughing, at anything. It doesn't matter if it's a witty joke or just plain nonsense; if it makes me laugh, I'm happy. In any issue, some humour is necessary, even if it is serious (always with respect and without going too far). The best way to combat a problem is with a good laugh 😉

Soy una persona sensible, que se preocupa mucho por los demás, aunque no los conozca. Me suelo poner en la situación de otros y sentir por lo que están pasando. Tengo una tendencia a ayudar a la gente: aunque no pidan ayuda, yo me ofrezco, sin ánimo de lucro. Nunca pienso mal de la gente (en el sentido de que creo que todos son buenas personas). I am a sensitive person, who cares a lot about others, even if I don't know them. I tend to put myself in other people's situation and feel what they are going through. Finally, I am cautious, I think a lot before I speak and I measure my words well. I tend to be sensible and strive for the greatest possible efficiency.

Respecto al nombre que tengo en Tumblr, que es cristinardvaya, se debe a mi nombre (Cristina), mis apellidos (la r y la d) y ese vaya es porque es una palabra que uso mucho (quizás demasiado xd)

Regarding the name I have on Tumblr, which is cristinardvaya, it's because of my first name (Cristina), my surnames (the r and the d) and that vaya is because it's a word I use a lot (maybe too much xd). I don't think there is a translation for that word. The closest one might be Wow or Ops depending on the context. For me, it's a wild card word.

I've been missing for a while and haven't uploaded anything and that's because I've been very busy with my studies (classes in the morning and lab in the afternoon, which means I don't even have time to study). On top of that now I have my final exams. But I'll be back when I finish them
