To those who weren't asking but I'm going to answer anyway because I can't sleep:

It's ADHD

We could be listening to Ice nine kills hip to be scared, then Fake Ass Friends by Set it off, then Whore by In this moment, then Degrade me by TX2, THEN do a backflip and listen to parents by Yungblud then maybe Temple of love by Black Veil Brides ft. VV, then take a U turn and suddenly we're listening to P!nk, Bad Omens, Motionless in White, Five Finger Death punch, Shinedown, Disturbed, or some random ass country song or something completely different.

Do I know what we're listening to next? Probably not. But neither do you. We're in this boat together.

Anyway

It took a long time simply because the character is so simple he's complicated

For the not knowing whether you're aro/ace (or both) thing (from an aroace person):

First of all, I can guarantee that NO ONE (who matters, at least) is going to care if you misidentify yourself or have identities that clash with eachother. Do what makes you feel comfortable--if it does even turn out to be "just a phase," it was a phase that made you happy, and with your identity, that's the only thing that matters.

That being said, I totally get why you would not want to misidentify with a term. I, for one, have always been terrified of having to come out multiple times because I got something wrong. But enough about me...

Really, the gist is: if you are aro/acespec, you are aro/acespec. I myself enjoy writing, reading, and engaging with romantic content in my fandom, despite not understanding nor ever feeling any romantic attraction. (For this reason I cannot tell you what romantic or sexual attraction feels like, so that you might compare it to your experiences.)
