Alanian necropolis outside the village of Dargavs, called “City of the dead”. It comprises 99 different tombs and crypts. This is a necropolis of the XIV-XVIII centuries, grandiose in its scale and significance. By the way the tomb is arranged, you can understand how rich this or that clan was, to which it belongs. According to one of the versions, at the turn of the 17th-19th centuries, a plague epidemic raged on the land of Ossetia, after which the Ossetians were on the verge of extinction, and some sick, with no one to bury them, would go into their family crypts and await their death.
Carpet market. Derbent. 1981
Derbent is one of the oldest cities of the world. It is believed to be 5, 000 years old. Carpets are hanging on wall of Derbent Fortress. The Fortifications of Derbent (also transcribed as Darband) are one of the fortified defense lines built by the Persian Sasanian Empire to protect the eastern passage of the Caucasus Mountains (the "Caspian Gates") against the attacks of the nomadic peoples of the Pontic–Caspian steppe.
Ezio Anichini (1886-1948) was a Florentine artist and illustrator who had a real knack for doing images from Dante’s works on postcards. These may date from the 600th anniversary of Dante’s death in 1921.

Have you ever notice that when you are engaged by something you don’t notice anything around. You like in a bubble: extraneous sounds don’t go through its walls, everything outside is so blurred that do not make any sense. The whole world and actions are inside of it. The matter of time and space do not exist there and you dissolve in action or object which is engaging you…
