It haunts me daily
THIS!!! He’s far from perfect and his behavior has been questionable but he’s also unlearning everything he’s ever been taught and that takes time. We saw everything he internalized from the Chefs he worked with, the good and the bad, everything that made him who he is as a chef and a person. It’s going to take time and therapy to go through all that trauma and learn how to let go of things that aren’t benefiting him. Carmy’s got a long way to go in the healing process but so does Syd and maybe they can do it together
ngl watching how some of y’all talk about Carmen makes me so fucking depressed as someone with a lot of baggage and trauma
no one said you have to put up with bullshit behavior forever, but if you think that someone who was torn down every day of their life is gonna be perfect the moment they realize they have a problem to fix in themselves, you’re going to be disappointed. repeatedly. forever.
none of y’all deserve Sydney either, bc she’s a damn good depiction of what it’s like to be someone who loves and cares for someone who’s fucked up. A side of the equation I ALSO happen to be familiar with. you hold that person accountable for shit behavior, back away when you need to for your health, and because you love them, you fucking come back.
Idk what kind of interpersonal relationships y’all have that can so easily be thrown away the moment shit isn’t perfect the way YOU need it, but this fucking “I don’t owe anyone anything least of all my shoulder to cry on” mindset sucks dick and balls when applied to media as much as it does in real life.
Like. If you met someone who understood you better than anyone, a person whose entire life has been parallel to yours in a way that uniquely binds the two of you, y’all would really just fucking walk away WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING just because they’re hurting and lashing out? Because that’s what y’all are advocating for, and that’s the fucking problem.
So many of y’all have this “I shouldn’t have to speak up and set a boundary” mindset. you just fucking sulk and stew in it and then blow up because you never set your foot down when you needed to.
Even if Sydney walks away from Carmen, she needs to fucking speak up or she’s gonna get walked on AGAIN. She deserves better but she also has to fucking ask for it. And that’s entirely separate from the fact that Carmen needs to pull his head out of his ass.
Either way, I think we would all do well to fucking self-reflect.
Obsessed with the idea that Sydney had a celebrity crush on Carmy because she immediately fangirled over him when they first met (“I know who you are, you were the best cdc at the best restaurant in the U.S.”) and he made her the best meal she’s ever had and now they’re opening a restaurant together and falling in love
Cas with Dean vs. with literally anybody else
Carmy his entire relationship with Claire:
Vs when Syd gets upset with him for two whole seconds:
Still losing it at the fact Carmy gave Claire a fake a number so she hunted down Fak to get his real number and people still think they’re cute.
I feel like we don’t talk about “I’m sorry I didn’t know we were running OUR menu by Claire now” enough. The way Sydney very clearly sounds somewhat betrayed that Carmy showed/discussed their menu with Claire because to her this her and Carmy’s thing and no one else’s. This line along with “i need your focus just like you need mine and I don’t want to share” is giving very much I want all of you and I don’t want to have to share with someone else
S3 needs to get here NOW
If you love me, give me hell
Busy thinking about how in The Hunger Games trilogy there is no chosen one trope and despite all the theories Prim wasn’t intentionally reaped (also because no totalitarian government with common sense would purposely nationally televise a girl with the influence to start an uprising against their oppression) Katniss Everdeen was a random face plucked from the masses of district twelve when she decided to volunteer for her sister at the reaping. She went into that arena so her little sister didn’t have to. She fought for her life again and again all whilst trying to keep Peeta alive just to find out they’d been lied to and someone had to die. So of course she was angry and of she course she said fuck you and fuck your games either we both go home or we both die and you have no victor. The Capitol obviously wasn’t thrilled when this happened and even less so when the districts saw it as an act defiance towards the Capitol and started rebelling and thus the Rebellion was sparked and soon after Katniss Everdeen became the face of it (even though she all she wanted was to save her sister and keep Peeta alive) and the Mockingjay was born. Because after all if a girl from district twelve of all of places could stand up to the Capitol what was stopping the districts from doing the same
I love how the pjo tv show is fully leaning in the narrative that the gods are not good parents whatsoever and letting us know that they maybe the demigods mothers/fathers but they sure as hell aren’t their parents
I need Jensen Ackles to have his Daniel Craig moment like in knives out/glass onion, No more serious macho man roles. It’s time to don a silly little outfit and a funny little accent Mr. Ackles.
