I agree whole heartedly I think the time period it was released and it seemingly being a lot of peoples first animes/exposer to anything really as dark as black butler (I say this because atp not much media really tackled trafficking or pedophilia, especially anime, in a serious way like it did) and most people arnt thinking the ramifications of how that trauma affects a child. Alois is a traumatized boy who learned everything from his environment. In my opinion it’s because people cannot handle traumatized people who are not “perfect” and good people, they hate traumatized people who are not perfect survivors
