i see people make such cool designs with the turtle boys but NO ONE EVER CAPITILIZES ON THEIR PLASTRON MARKINGS

(the pictures below are of ornate box turtles, so look for yourself if you hc mikey as a different boxshell species, since the patterns vary)

(alligator) snapping turtles have small diamond shaped plastrons, and they don't reaaaly have patterns but kinda?

and then softshell turtles just don't have proper plastrons so you can do whatever you want with that information

some tidbits!

Casey used to play goalie for his hockey team (which is why he has a mask from it, but he never uses for patrols) Casey now plays center

April used to play on the softball team but quit after freshman year because she just really didn’t enjoy it and wanted to put her energy fourth to think she actually liked

Their mascot is the Penguins, because when I asked my co-writer immediately he said penguins I did not budge. Literally no other reason.

Their jersey numbers mean nothing essentially I went to a random number generator and that’s what I put on them

these two are besties, and I love thinking about their dynamic of being “2 totally normal teenagers who definitely don’t have mutants as friends or have saved the world about 6 times”
