Palestine Designs

A few of the designs from my fundraiser. All of the ones I'm sharing today adapt older art. From the top: an edited Henry Meunier print (using a picture of my own keffiyeh), a Warhol inspired design (the keffiyeh comes from an open source photo, the eyes from a vintage movie poster), an edited vintage pulp comic, and at the bottom two Julie de Graag prints.

As usual EVERYTHING I RAISE is for my best friend to support his friends and family in Gaza and the West Bank (and sometimes surrounding areas in the Levant suffering collateral damage).

I have 178 designs and I add more whenever I have a new idea (also open to suggestions). You can find these designs in my shop HERE. I made a new metal shirt design for my fundraiser, found here (the design is also available on stickers and other things). This one is going for an old school heavy metal aesthetic, I made a black metal style one a while ago too, found here.

ALL PROCEEDS from my shop are for my Palestinian best friend to help him take care of his loved ones. Music is a huge thing I bonded with this friend over. We met through labor organizing so the first album I ever showed him was Panopticon's Kentucky, he'd never heard metal before but took to it immediately. Our first time hanging out properly was a spontaneous night spent in his car showing each other songs after a union event. He introduced me to Umm Kulthum that night, we hung out until about 1 in the morning eating pizza and sharing our favorite artists.

I'd also like to take a moment to highlight one of my personal favorite Arabic language metal/hardcore bands, Znous from Tunisia. In addition to this wonderful album you can also try this song called "Rotzhey Yeladim (Children Killers)" from November. Bet you can guess what that one is about.

My favorites are probably the art nouveau print one, the NASA photography one and the bulbul holding a flag.

As always ALL PROCEEDS from my shop are for my best friend who is Palestinian. The extra income will help him support his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids and economic devastation in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. Recently we've started trying to help a friend of his get out of Gaza to an Egyptian university to continue their studies, if we can obtain the necessary permissions for them. If not the money will probably just go to helping a few more people get food.

This translates to "Palestine in our hearts". Poppies are common in Palestine and are often used as a symbol, representing the colors of the flag and blood shed upon the land.

Two new designs for my fundraising shop, found here and here. The first is the word فلسطين (Palestine in Arabic) edited into a simple open source dove design. The second is a vintage photo of stained glass windows in a mosque in Bethlehem (West Bank) from the Library of Congress. The original is pretty faded and dull, I messed with the saturation and contrast to make it pop more for a sticker design. It's pretty low resolution so I only have it available on stickers and a couple other small products. I really love this photo, it looks like it would make a great metal album cover (kinda reminds me of Sick With Bloom).

ALL PROCEEDS from my work are for my Palestinian best friend, to help him support his girlfriend in remaining in America until it's safe for her to travel back home and to help his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids and economic devastation in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. He will donate anything his family doesn't need to the Palestinian charities he works with.

I took a vintage ornamentation and turned it into a Palestinian flag for my fundraiser. The design can be found here.

He has also been supporting his girlfriend staying with him here in America these past few months; she is now heading back home. The immediate area around where she is from has been fairly secure recently. We're really hoping it stays that way. It will be sad to see her go, he has been noticeably less depressed with her here. She has been a great comfort to him.

Sorry if I have made a mistake, but isn't Al Aqsa mosque often used colloquially to refer to the entire mosque compound, including the Dome of the Rock? I know that it's not the prayer hall but I thought the name was regularly extended to everything within the compound.

From what I can find (can't really read Arabic though so looking more at English sources) it is often considered Zionist strategy to focus on the dome/downplay the rest of the compound, but most (though admittedly not all) Islamic sources I saw stress that the entire compound is still Al Aqsa, including the dome. Some were actually quite adamant that the dome, main prayer hall, other prayer halls and all other parts indoors and outside be included as part of the mosque so the occupation cannot as easily claim control of or destroy parts of it. I believe the Arabic language Wikipedia for example is taking that stance in defining المسجد الأقصى in the "اعتقادات خاطئة عن حدوده بسبب الاحتلال" section (will ask my fluent friends later to confirm though, I am still a beginner and very far from fluent).

I will add "compound" to the original post though, regardless of the Arabic nomenclature that definitely captures the meaning better in English, thank you for pointing it out. I unfortunately can't add it to the shop though because I've run up against Redbubble's 8 word title limit.

Palestine Brushstroke Designs

For those who haven't seen my posts yet, my best friend (the nicest person I have EVER met, hands down) is Palestinian, and a lot of his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the increasing Israeli raids in the the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. ALL PROCEEDS from these designs will go first and foremost to helping his girlfriend afford to join him in America safely, and after that helping his other loved ones weather this war.

These designs are found in my collection here on stickers, shirts, mugs, etc, along with all of my other work. New stuff being added pretty much daily. The first two should be live now, the last is waiting for approval and will probably be up by tomorrow.

Keffiyeh Doves - New Versions

I wanted to post these little guys again since it turned out my account was not working/not showing in any tags when I made the previous post.

These are the new variants:

ALL PROCEEDS from these designs will go to helping his girlfriend afford to join him in America safely and helping his other loved ones weather this war.

We're slightly hopeful that the ceasefire will mitigate the harm being done to my friend's family going forward. He's already had some loved ones hurt that this money can help so for now I will continue the fundraising (plus we are not optimistic about the ceasefire continuing to be extended, unfortunately). For now his girlfriend has remained safe and financial planning for her trip here is going okay. Most of his immediate family is okay (extended family and friends not entirely so unfortunately). I will keep these updates somewhat vague to protect their privacy. We greatly appreciate all your help!

He will donate anything his family doesn't need to the Palestinian charities he works with (he's heavily involved in activism and I trust him to put the money where it will make the most difference).

I'm not really sure how a fundraiser like this should be considered under the strike, I'm going to keep sharing my stuff but I completely understand if you guys aren't going to be buying much this week.
