I love how the whole plot of “Sonic Heroes” is really just Metal Sonic trolling everyone, like really, did he honesty need to kidnap a one-off Chao that we never saw again and a non-sentient frog??

Sure, you can argue about them both having “Chaos Data” embedded in them (Chocola is a Chao, and Froggy swallowed Chaos’ tail once and ate a Chaos Emerald), but what sort of data could Metal have gotten from a FROG?

On top of that, he’s just messing with Shadow, like, all of Shadow’s existential crisis over possibly being an android in the following game, “Shadow the Hedgehog”, is all of Metal’s fault

He even sends out a bragging letter to Team Sonic to dare them to stop him. He gives them basically a weekend to do so.

He teases Team Rose, and honestly, he was probably only thwarted because he didn’t bank on Team Chaotix unveiling the truth and unwittingly gathering the materials to stop him

Metal was out of control for that game, he threw Eggman in a cell, stole his identity, and just screwed up Eggman’s credit score buy spending all that cash on the resources and upgrades

Then ends the entire joy ride by transforming into a dragon, and started bending Time.

p l e a s e watch it it’s goofy and silly but has a genuine story behind it.

Randy is an avid sleepwalker and kind of a sleep talker. More than once has he woken up after accidentally smacking himself into the wall. Or falling over.

It definitely became somewhat of a problem after he became the ninja. A few times he woken up in the ninja suit about to destroy something.

The first time Howard found him sleepwalking he was like, trying to dig through the wall. Howard thought he was a ghost and hit him with a baseball bat. Randy did not appreciate that.

Now every time it happens it’s like “Ugh not again... come on Cunningham, lets go back to bed.”

Howard probably would mess with Randy while he’s sleep talking. He can’t understand him 99% of the time but it’s still kinda fun

In the ninjaception episode, Howard DID try to stop Randy, but Randy is a determined fucker. So Howard just went “guess we’ll die” and went with it. He didn’t question it bc this isn’t the first time Randy has left his house while asleep.

One time Randy woke up in his backyard with Howard on the deck watching.

“What the... what the juice?! Why am I in the backyard?!”

“You wanted outside so I let you outside.”

“Oh my god... I need to get this sleepwalking problem under control...”

When’s the last time you looked at Sonic and knew shit was about to go down?

I feel like we haven’t seen this in over a DECADE. The last I can remember seeing Sonic serious and FEELING the tension is Unleashed and the Storybook Series. The closest we got was probably the CGI teaser trailer for Sonic Forces. And Forces was trying to bring that seriousness back, but it just felt shallow and forced. (No pun intended.) To the point where it was edgy in a cringy way. But I could make a whole other post about that.

Movie Sonic feels like Sonic, albeit younger. He’s a goofball, he’s cheesy and corny, and he’s an optimist. But he also cares deeply about his friends, and if you mess with them, he WILL make you pay. He CAN take things seriously and understand the stakes. And I feel like I haven’t seen that in a long time.

Maybe that’s why I’m so excited about the movie. It feels like the Sonic I know and love. It feels like coming home.
