someone: you love j.d.? but he’s so evil!!!
me:
straight women, if you really want to pride yourselves on being Great Allies, i implore you to consider the following:
stop using the term ‘girlfriend’ to refer to your lady friends. it’s confusing for us and makes it that much harder for our relationships to be taken seriously
stop joking that you and your best friend are Totally Lesbians. our relationships are not yours to make some cutesy little joke with your friends
yes, this totally includes using the 👭 emoji on pictures of you and your straight friends on instagram. why do you do that
stop using the term ‘girl/woman crush’
stop making out with your straight friends to get guys off
stop fetishizing our relationships
stop assuming that the one lesbian or bi girl you know at school is going to hit on you. chances are, they want absolutely nothing to do with you
and stop assuming it’d be the end of the world if she did
I need to follow more broadway blogs! Reblog this if you post any thing related yo musical theatre, especially Wicked, or Spring Awakening!
What is a legacy?
How long have you played guitar? Could you give us some advice :) I would like to audition for Voice of Moritz for the tour but I've never played guitar
I’ve been playing for 13 years.
Honestly, if you want to audition for Voice of Moritz, you need to start playing guitar immediately. At the risk of being blunt, it would pretty difficult to get to the skill level required by the time auditions rolled around. (And before anyone asks, I have absolutely NO clue when that would be.)
It’s a broadway score, and you need to play perfectly. I played three different guitars (6 string acoustic, 12 string acoustic, electric 6 string), and almost every song in the show. So you’d also need to learn three dramatically different styles of playing.
That, on its own, is a huge amount of work. Combine that with acting, speaking, and singing Moritz at the same time, while coordinating with another actor, and it’s a pretty challenging task.
That said, nothing is impossible. If you want something, go after it. PRACTICE. Practice HARD. Get a guitar. Get a book that teaches you how to read music.
Had the absolutely wonderful pleasure of doing a poster job for my Tee-Rico buddy Dominic! I was asked to create an 80s film poster-inspired piece for the Selma Arts Center’s upcoming production of Heathers the Musical!
Shoutout to the cast and crew for sending me a bundle of wonderful reference photos that made this a smooth process. The faces you see in this illustration are the faces you will see on stage. Check out info about the show here!
Poster frame by Dominic Grijalva. Thanks buddy!
(mmm love that tumblr image quality compression)
