So, I read this and went down a bit of a research rabbit hole, and these are the articles that I thought would be the most helpful/ interesting/ compelling.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6526283/ This is an academic article from the NIH that's more about SZPD in general and is what I started with.
I looked into @i-am-a-dragon-dragon suggestion of Esme Wijun Wang's book The Collected Schizophrenias, and while I couldn't find a (legal) place to download it for free, I did find this interview that Esme did with PBS about her history with her diagnosis.
I found this book Self Study: Notes on the Schizoid Condition, and this website has a link to a free pdf https://press.ici-berlin.org/doi/10.37050/hs-01/index.html
This old NYTimes article is more of an overview/case study about a man with an unspecified Schizoid disorder. I found it really compelling because it does have a happy ending so to speak
https://www.brightquest.com/schizoid-personality-disorder/caring-for-someone-with-schizoid-personality-disorder/ This is more of an outsiders manual for helping people live with SZPD, and giving some overview for therapy options.
If you want more reading, I recommend going to the References section of the Wiki article on Schizoid Personality Disorder. There are a lot of links there and while they are very high-brow academically written, they are very thorough.
I hope this helps! good luck.
I know this is something of a long shot, but I feel like of all the Tumblr users I know of, you’re the most likely to have an answer.
Recently, I was diagnosed with szpd (Schizoid Personality Disorder), which explains a decent chunk of my life struggles.
Do you have any stories, advice, or resources that you can share with me?
I actually know very little about SZPD or related disorders, so I'm going to turn this out to the floor to see if someone has recommended reading for both of us.
At least the democrats are self aware enough to have a sense of humor about this
On the one hand I would prefer a functional government, but on the other, the sheer comedy and Schadenfreude of the House Republicans descending into petty, humiliating chaos while the Dem folks are showing up with literal popcorn and chanting for their own Speaker nominee like this is a high school sports game is filling me with manic glee.
Best crossover ever
me when i first started watching cdramas: woah the sets are so beautiful
me watching cdramas now: hey, i know that street. hey, i know that temple. hey, i know that courtyard. hey, i know that gate. hey, i know that tree
The true water magic
brb going outside to wistfully observe the reflections of the shop lights in the wet streets
Personally, i believe that not caring what other people think about your appearance also means being perfectly comfortable being overdressed for the situation
LOVE being overdressed. Obsessed with it, actually. “Who you all dressed up for?” You, bitch, are we going to Cane’s or not? “Do you have an event today?” Yes, it’s called going to the grocery store.
The greek prefixes we were forced to learn in high school is coming in handy
Observation #1: The prefix "a-" means "none", such as in "asexual", "apolitical" and "Atheism".
Observation: The word "unicorn" is a combination of "uni", meaning "one", and "cornus", meaning "horn".
Conclusion:
This is an acorn.
I don't understand how you've made this coherent, but you have
