The "Search Within Results" Field and You, Pt. 1

When we brought back the tag filters after their long sleep last year, we tried to keep the interface as uncluttered as possible and focus on frequently used or requested search options. Like the Archive itself, this is a work in progress. There’s a lot of scattered documentation about finding stuff to read, look at, watch, or listen to on the Archive: The little blue question marks all over the Archive should provide some pointers, and there’s also the Searching and Browsing on the AO3 tutorial for more details.

However, there are some “secret” search options that are already built into the filtering and search code, but aren’t necessarily reflected in the interface (because ticky box overkill). Here’s an overview of neat things you can put into any of the following places to narrow down (and sort!) your results:

the “Search within results” field in the tag filters for works (e.g. for the Pacific Rim tag or in the Dark Agenda collection)

the “Any Field” box in the Work Search form

the main search box in the header

For Works:

words:1000 (works with exactly 1000 words)

words>1000 (works with more than 1000 words)

words<1000 (works with less than 1000 words)

words:1000-5000 (works between 1000 and 5000 words)

(works for: words, hits, kudos, comments, bookmarks)

sort:kudos (sort by kudos, default to most kudos first)

sort:>kudos (reverse to fewest kudos first)

sort:words (sort by words, default to longest works first)

sort:>words (reverse to shortest works first)

sort:>posted (oldest works first, going by actual posting date)

sort:>updated (oldest works first, going by author’s publishing date)

(works for: author, title, posted, updated, words, hits, kudos, comments, bookmarks)

restricted:true (only restricted works; requires you to be logged in)

complete:false (only unfinished works/works in progress)

expected_number_of_chapters:1 (only one-shots)

-expected_number_of_chapters:1 (only multi-chapter works)

For (Your) Bookmarks:

private:false (your public bookmarks only)

private:true (your private bookmarks only)

rec:false (everything but recs; works for any bookmarks)

bookmarkable_complete:true (bookmarks of completed works only)

Search Operators:

These will handle any text matches in the title, summary, notes, and list of tags. Note that there will be some inaccuracies due to the way the code stores information and handles search strings: “Derek/Stiles” will also match a list of tags containing “Derek, Stiles” in that order. (Please stay tuned for Part 2 for a workaround! Part 3 has the information you’ll need to filter out specific ratings and warnings.)

These were put into the main search box in the header to generate results, but you can also use these tricks in the “Search within results” field to narrow down work lists for a particular tag. Just remember to put everything into one of the three search boxes listed above.

QSMP Philza update, go watch the Wednesday the 25th and Friday 27th updates if you don't want to be spoiled.

Nothing really major happened Wensday, philza went exploring for a bit after getting on to see if there was more black concrete, which there was.

He then spawns in his Minime who he later names Little Twat (not a joke).

Then he spends an hour and a half with Fit and Tubbo talking to the new Cururucho AI at spawn, occasionally getting flirted at, told stuff that could not be true and such, and trying to exploit the AI.

They then went to lucky duck before returning to spawn because Tubbo needed to get his minime Kitkat back after it randomly disappeared. So a random fed. worker came, had Tubbo dance then Phil got board and decided to work on leveling his minime, leading him to dig down under spawn to tr and find iron I believe leading him to drop down into a massive wold edit hole. Cucurucho then joins Phil stares at the strange area before giving Phil a quest to build an aquarium.

Phil then went off to gather materials and mobs for the aquarium, was joined by Fit for a while before Fit leaves, after which Phil spends a few minutes exploring before returning to spawn near the nino to "build the aquarium," if you count an outdoor aquarium with 5 tanks and no other infrastructure. However it counted so Cucurucho have Phil his requested building block rainbow glass or at least the components for it. Phil then went to gather sand for the glass, spent time looking at glitched terain for an hour or so. After which he headed home, hat a none cannon chat with BadBoyHalo and Royer about whether the Brazil or Vagus trips were better, before Phil went off to do a few cores before getting off for the day at the nest.

Friday had some lore happen, but it was nothing major or egg related. If anything it related back to the bird cage with the "wise crow" comment.

To give a better flow of events, Phil woke up, decided to work on upgrading his now 2 mini me's, affectionately called Little Twat, and Little Shit (normally, I would censor a curse, but the name is the curse word so...). With Little Shot asking for a weird mushroom (twice.). After doing some of the Minime quests he went home, had an existential crisis due to the black concrete at his face spreading, then went inside to check the message chest, finding nothing. Then while doing further checks he found strange vines on the inside walls of Tallulah's seed garden, which he followed to the back wall to find a picture of a skull with vines on it and a book asking if Phil remembers his time before the server and promising help.

Side note, I personally want to say that that is Kristen, the goddess of death, trying to communicate with him. It seems to out of place to be the federation, and with how different Phil's ticket is from the rest it has to point to outside interference. And one of Kristen's main ways of talking with Phil previously when lore related back to his wife revolved around crows. So her leaving a critic crow book? Seems plausible.

Plus, sleep is often described as the line between life and death.

Phill took some pictures then called Fit to come see, with Pac joining along, only for when Phil brought them to the area of the message to find it gone like it was never there and all his proof gone. This sent Phil into a minor panic that he tried to brush off, even though booth Fit and Pac believed Phil had seen something.

To get his mind off that, Phil joined Pac and Fit's dungeon crawl, during which he lost his shield, before the group separated after completing the odd triple dungeon with Phil exploring a bit to find materially to replace his shield, followed by minime item collection, a brief dungeon raid, raiding egg backpacks to get the means to get a minime item (a type of mushroom), before he goes hole, does a brief check of stops the eggs loved, ended up back at the dream spot, before going home and getting off.

Also, on the 29th, two messages's appeared on the QSMP Twitter involving the 4th, one involves the train station, one seems to involve Cheyanne.

No clue what it means, other then something happening November 4th.

tfw a chapter of your current favorite fan fic has a part where the characters are looking through a sketchbook and it lists a bunch of sketch descriptions and you go like “challenge accepted”.

Okay, so no one was actually challenging me, but it was free drawing prompts and it felt like the universe was daring me so I immediately jumped for it.

I like Error’s hobo outfit much more, but since the Ink in the story has known Error for about a thousand years and has nine total sketchbooks full of nothing but the glitchy cutie pie plus another 6 full of Ruru erotica I figure in “Error #2″ he’d have his classic outfit.

Hate the top left expression.  Looks weird, but since it was my first go drawing an Error face without a reference I feel I can forgive myself for that.  Hate the bottom right expression too but only because that peaceful face doesn’t feel like Error.  And because I couldn’t figure out how to do peaceful with a Sans mouth.  It was my first attempt for Page 5 and in the end I admitted that I just don’t have the expression skills needed to pull what I wanted off for that picture.  It was still a nice looking face though so I included it in Page 1.

My favorite page!  These prompts were the most fun to draw.  Error makes for the most adorable grump and I love him for it. <3 The “less distinct other person” is an Anonymous voice!  I thought the idea of Error feeding a troll to be hilarious and ran with it.  At least one of them seems like they’re having a good time. xD

Also, fuck the paper I drew these on.  The book has some pages that are colored grey instead of white and that messes with things.  Gave the drawings a dark tint that I can’t do anything about, so I’m a bit salty about that.

Not exactly how I first pictured it but it will do.  Also I forgot that Error was supposed to be standing instead of kneeling until I was pretty much finished with it.  Oops.

So. I drew all of these sketches in my 365 drawing book.  You know, the one with the ruled lining in it because it’s supposed to be a book for writing prompts.

So imagine me, initially thinking I’d just draw a few plants, getting carried away and drawing the whole dang swamp, and then realizing when I was done that I was going to have to edit out all those damn lines.  I went “oh fuck” and then proceeded to spend two hours on clean up for this sketch alone.  Cleaning up each sketch already took a long time so holy hell.

Oh well, at least it looks neat.  Just wish Killer’s booty didn’t get lost in all the details. :(

“Finally, Ink stopped on a page near the end that had clearly been looked at a lot. The top corner was a little crumpled and dog-eared as if Ink fiddled with that section of the paper often. This one was of Error smiling. Not the smirking grin, not his crazy smile, but his normal smile. The one usually only seen in private by very few beings. Ink smiled back at it. The image had been delicately painted with watercolors making it even softer than the expression had been.”

Could have been better. Could have been worse. I found a great digital watercolor tutorial but in the end I still didn’t know what I was doing.  Maybe someday I’ll try redoing this when I level up my arting skills but for now it looks nice, it looks soft, it fits the prompt, I’m done.

Whew… well that’s one big project done.  A major “Our Tangled Web” itch has been scratched.  Maybe now I can go back to working on some of my own stuff.  Or do fanart for other fanfics.  =w=

Oh my God, I love this James and Jessy as parents with 2 daughters with Meowth as their guardian friend. I also love the fact that James is the one wearing the baby carrier while Jessy has meowth on her shoulder.

It's also obvious that they are scared (likely worried about it hurting their daughter or her sister) by the Galar meowth and Meowth is like "yeah, this isn't going to end well."

Over 900 videos of streams, mostly over an hour long. You’ll probably want to watch every video on double speed, you’ll be thinking about which videos you can get away with skipping, and it’ll take you over a month to get through.

It’s a combination of recap videos and animatics. Animatics have the advantage of being edited down to just the most important parts, without losing the actual dialogue like you do in recap videos. The recap videos are still there to make sure you don’t miss any context. There are some recent streams toward the end for events animatics didn’t cover well that haven’t been recapped yet. 

So you can get caught up in a ninth of the time without missing the actual content. >:) [Check it out!]

If you know of an animatic that could fill in a gap or help replace a recap video, or a recap video that could replace a stream, let me know! I’m going to try and keep this playlist up to date, but once you get caught all the way up, that first playlist is a great way to make sure you stay caught up. :)

So, I got an idea in my head a while ago involving Alastor not being a sinner. Or, at least not a sinner in the same sense every other sinner is. And the idea was NO ONE knew, not even Alastor, till someone related to Charlie came along and asked "huh... Is he actual -something else-?"

And, I kind of like the idea that there are sinners that can never be redeemed, not because of never being able to repent for the horrendous acts they committed in life, but because I feel there are some sinners who didn't do horrible stuff but can't be redeemed because they are MENT to be residents of hell like the hell-born.

After all acultism, soul contracts, and demonic rituals are a thing in the Hell_of_a_Boss/Hazbin_Hotel and who is to say there aren't people forever bound to hell one way or another because of this.

So, i wrote the idea into a fic to try and set my ground rules! And below is the fic.
