listen. klee is convinced the two of you are made for each other!! she saw you two talking and went, ah yes, a couple!! (๑>◡<๑)

in her mind, the two of you looked just like any of the other couples she has seen around mondstadt!! you’re probably married, right? wait…she wasn’t invited to you wedding! how dare mr albedo do that!! >:o

imagine her surprise when albedo told her that, no klee, y/n and i are just friends. where did you get this idea from? - so you’re not married? and i didn’t get not invited to the wedding? - no???

after her “discovery”, albedo’s afternoons with klee consisted of, “mr. albedo, did you ask y/n yet??”, “well i think y/n likes you because you like them too!!” and “can we go visit y/n?? please??”

he’s truly struggling keeping up with her questions about you, especially because she just doesn’t get tired of it?? he’ll tell her that you’re just friends and she’ll be like, no, you’re not and that’s it! checkmate mr smarty pants (๑･̑◡･̑๑)

luckily for him, klee never actually mentioned him or how she thinks you two should be together to you??? well, she didn’t…

…until she did (*⁰▿⁰*)

klee asked you to have lunch with her and albedo, and you obviously agreed because who could say no to that?!

you and klee are on your way to pick up albedo from dragonspine, chatting and having a great time when she suddenly hits you with the, y/n, you have to go out with mr albedo. ok? he never listens when i tell him to ask you! it’s so annoying!!

safe to say, you were stunned. klee, what are you talking about?? albedo and i-

he likes you! and you like him, i know it! so be together! >:( klee’s getting all pouty and stomps her little feet because ugh!! just date already!! it’s so obvious, so please!!

you tried to brush her off and were ready to just pretend nothing happened, to never speak a word about this to albedo…klee on the other hand, didn’t （＾ω＾）

you reached his camp, and even before albedo was able to greet you two, klee excitedly told him, mr. albedo, i did it for you!! i told y/n about it and they’re gonna say yes, so just ask them now, ok? (๑╹ω╹๑ )

seems like now both you and albedo had to face your feelings ♪( ´▽｀) klee walking up to jean like hehe yes i did that thank you

#BENNETT (BARBARA)

barbara found out about benny’s crush on you while patching up some of his wounds, actually! he was still high on adrenaline and kind of just said whatever came to mind? ٩( ᐛ )و

he passed by you on his way to the cathedral and now his mind’s running, both from the adrenaline pumping through his veins as well as from seeing you-

oh and i went to good hunter with them and fischl yesterday! it was so good and pretty! the food was good and y/n was pretty, i mean- and also! did you know that y/n also knows how to fix my wounds? they helped me last time, when you were out and-

he’s just rambling and rambling and rambling and barbara just listens to him gushing about you with a smile, well, did you ask them out if you like them so much?

and he just freezes (*´ー｀*)-

he regains his composure a bit and immediately is like, oh no! i could never!! me and my bad luck would bother them so much and i don’t want them to possibly get hurt, and what if they don’t even like me like that and it could ruin our friendship and make us awkward and-

barbara feels so bad for him?? she knows it’s not her place to do anything but she doesn’t want him to think like that, especially when she knows that you might, possibly, perhaps also like him :((

so she takes it upon herself and writes a little anonymous note to you!! she mentions that a certain member of a certain one man adventure team might be fond of you, and that you definitely should ask him out!! (^з^)

unfortunately, barbara isn’t that good at hiding things? which results in her avoiding you like the plague because she doesn’t trust herself to not expose that she was the one.. ∑(ﾟДﾟ)

but at the same time she always tries to subtly ask bennett if anything…special…happened…if there was something…happening…and poor benny is clueless and is always just like? no? i don’t think so? ( ・∇・)

barbara is frustrated!! she fears you might’ve never actually received the letter? what if you lost it before you could read it?? what if she accidentally put it in someone else’s pocket?? dear barabtos, what if…what if you don’t even like bennett back?! what then?! oh dear archons-

her train of thought is interrupted by the door swinging open, a beet red bennett stumbling in, goofy smile on his face..

and would you look at that!! from now on, benny gets to gush about you to barbara as your boyfriend!! wowie!! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

#CHONGYUN (XINGQIU)

there’s rarely anything xingqiu enjoys as much as tormenting chongyun - lovingly, of course! but…

…if there’s one thing he absolutely hates, it’s the way chongyun torments himself by not confessing to you,,,heck, he doesn’t even have to confess!! merely talking to you would be a reasonable step to take!! (￣^￣)

xingqiu tried everything. from being very gentle and understanding to giving chongyun rather aggressive love and support- and nothing works!!

xingqiu’s is at the end of his rope while chongyun is the same lovestruck fool he always was 😀👍

xingqiu doesn’t want to confess for him or anything, because that’s a little too far, even for him! (￣^￣)

(also, he’s sure chongyun’s first instinct would be to say that he’s lying and that it’s not true. so, maybe he would, but it would probably backfire.)

sooo…since he can’t be the one to tell you about chongyun’s crush, who could?…well, how about chongyun himself 👀

xingqiu knows that his plan might be a little mean, but he’s truly just looking out for chongyun!! especially because he’s about 97% sure you like him back-

because you see, xingqiu’s plan was to have you ‘accidentally‘ overhear chongyun talking about his feelings for you!!

is it a little mean? yeah, but it’s all in good faith! xingqiu just really, really wants to help chongyun out - and if it means making him a little mad in the process, so be it

they met up to have dinner together, and xingqiu invited you too, unbeknownst to chongyun - and unbeknownst to you, he invited you a little later

that way, he has enough time to ease into the subject and have chongyun ramble about you by the time you arrived!!

say, chongyun, how’s your little crush on y/n going? - w-what? well, it’s going fine. i mean, i haven’t told them yet and i’m not even really thinking about telling them because that would be crazy right? y/n surely doesn’t like me back and-

and what can he say, it worked!! perfectly, actually (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) well, perfectly except for chongyun‘s face that looked like it was about to explode while you stood there like Σ੧(❛□❛✿)

tldr; so while chongyun might got a little mad at first, at the end of the day, xingqiu was the one who got you two together! ha, checkmate! (*´꒳`*)

#DILUC (JEAN)

jean absolutely did not mean to say anything. she would’ve taken the knowledge of diluc’s infatuation with you to the grave if she had to. especially because not even diluc knew that jean knew!! it’s a mess- (*´Д｀*)

the second she accidentally let it slip, she froze and just stared at diluc for a second…who seemed just as shocked as her ( ・∇・)

um, i-…did not mean to say that. i’m sorry, please forget about it. it’s absolutely none of my business, i never would’ve said anything, i-

she’s panicking while diluc is still frozen, his mind racing; how did she know? did he tell her at some point? did someone else tell her? did she figure it out on her own? if she figured it out on her own, dear archons, does that mean he’s that obvious? but if that’s the case, other people would’ve surely noticed as well, right? what if-

the ungodly shrieks both of them let out when you come into the tavern, greeting them- 💀

they both try so hard to pretend like nothing happened and jean tries her darnest to come up with an excuse to leave immediately, she can’t take this anymore ( ´θ｀)ノ

them: ( ・x・) you: (*^ω^*) hey guys!!

jean really doesn’t mean to butt into diluc’s business!! especially not his love life- (ﾟ∀ﾟ)

but she’s also someone who really likes to help people…and she’s seeing how much diluc’s struggling with her own two eyes…

would it really be that bad if she were to just..help out a little..?

now, jean herself also has no idea what she would do in his situation, much less any idea what she’s supposed to do as a bystander!! so she figures that encouragement would be the way to go! (๑>◡<๑)

so, the next time she meets diluc she tries to subtly bring you up, which seems to work well until she looks up at diluc and he stares back at her with the iciest glare she’s ever seen 😀-

i-…i just mean…you know, i think it would benefit you if you told them? i think it’s pretty obvious to anyone that you and y/n have some sort of…special relationship? surely it would be best for you to…, jean trails off, seeing you slowly get up from the floor behind the counter where you had been helping diluc by sorting and refilling some ingredients ʅ（◞‿◟）ʃ

very much awkward silence. it takes a solid 10 seconds for anyone to move, and once shock dies down, it’s chaos from there :(；ﾞﾟ'ωﾟ'):

right when jean found the words to say something, anything, to take back what she said and explain, diluc had a ‘ah, screw it’ moment and asked you to follow him outside for a second

the second you two went out the door, jean rushed to the back door of the tavern and hurried back to the knight’s headquarters - there’s no way she’s gonna stay around after the utter embarrassment she felt ヽ(￣д￣;)ノ=3=3=3

she and diluc silently agree to not talk about how you and him got together ( ✌︎'ω')✌︎

#KAEYA (ROSARIA)

does rosaria care about kaeya’s little crush on you? absolutely not. the only reason she even knows about it is because kaeya let it slip after a few drinks at the tavern (°▽°)

what she does care about, though, is the fact that he just won’t shut up about you. it’s like a broken faucet, he just keeps rambling on and on and on and on and on and-

she had to do something, okay? something to get him to shut up - so she took it upon herself to get you together (one way or another)! ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ

the thing is, though, that rosaria doesn’t…care? not enough to come up with some elaborate plan or give kaeya a pep-talk, at least-

to be fair, she did try to get him to confess to you before - which kaeya just shrugged off and dismissed, telling her, ah, i wish i could

she’s quite literally about to just march up to you and let you know that kaeya likes you and that you should talk to him about it, for her sake if not for anything else (　˙-˙　)

the thought has been swimming around her mind for a while, but she never really felt the need to go through with it…until kaeya refused to talk about anything else but your upcoming birthday, which at that point was still a whole 2 weeks away (*´ー｀*)

surprise gift that, surprise dinner this - for days, all he talked about was putting together an amazing birthday surprise for you while all rosaria wants to do is sit in the tavern, drink and relax…ʅ（◞‿◟）ʃ

quite frankly, she had enough 😀🤚

so imagine your surprise when rosaria pulls you aside the second you enter the tavern, brows furrowed

listen, y/n, i need you to do something about that little thing you and kaeya have going on. it’s so painfully obvious, and he won’t ever shut up about you, so for the love of all archons, just get it together. both of you.

you just stood there like Σ('◉ ⌓ ◉’)…and then you locked eyes with kaeya, who was standing behind rosaria- (kaeya and you suddenly locking eye(s) like Σ(‘▇ ⌓ ◉’))

rosaria follows your stare and turns to look at kaeya, shrugs and goes back into the tavern. her mission is done here! ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ

it’s safe to say that both of you were a little flustered during the conversation you and kaeya had afterwards (〃ω〃)

it didn’t take long for kaeya to turn all suave again, though! ε-(´∀｀; )

(poor rosaria though, because now that you and kaeya are actually dating, he won’t ever shut up about you ٩( 'ω' )و)

#KAZUHA (BEIDOU)

kazuha regrets ever confessing his feelings for you to beidou about two times a day ʅ（◞‿◟）ʃ

he’ll forget to do something and she’ll be like, kazuha, how are you gonna get y/n to date you if you can’t even prepare the rice?!

she’s very direct and definitely wants him to confess to you - but, being the responsible captain she is, she also makes sure to remind him that a romantic relationship means change

he’ll have to figure out if he wants you to come with them, or if he’d like to stay with you - maybe nothing will change and you’ll only see each other every few months? beidou is very supportive of him, though, and always encourages him to be brave and go for it

she just really wants to see him finally be happy darn it!! (＞人＜;)

the crux had a little celebration the day before they were leaving liyue for a few months, and beidou made sure to tell kazuha to invite you!!

at least invite ‘em to the celebration! you don’t have to give ‘em your heart, but at least bid a proper farewell to ‘em. you’re gonna miss y/n either way, whether they know or not

when beidou told him that kazuha kinda just went hm. (。-∀-)

because she’s right!! but the way she said it also made him want to confess really badly,,,

so you’re invited to the little celebration held on the crux!! how fun!! well, it is quite fun, but it would probably be a little more fun if kazuha didn’t look so gloomy the whole time? Σ(-᷅_-᷄๑)

he’s just brooding the whole time, which is so unlike him?? you’re not sure what’s wrong, so you decide to ask beidou about it…she’s had a few drinks, so you had to ask her a few times until she got it ʅ（◞‿◟）ʃ

ahhh, that idiot…you know what, y/n? i’m a great captain. amazing even! so i’m gonna do what’s best for one of my own. listen well, yeah? that poet has the hots for ya. for a while now. won’t stop worryin’ about it. ‘s probably why he’s borodin’, he’s worried you’ll be gone by the time we come back.

while you’re standing there, processing what she just told you, she turns around and beckons kazuha over. she pats his shoulder and gestures towards you, i told ‘em about it. you can get mad at me tonight, but make sure to thank me tomorrow

beidou used to poke fun at the little poems kazuha would come up with when he was still crushing on you, and now she’s poking fun at him for the poems he writes down as your boyfriend. they’ll never change ✌︎('ω')✌︎

#THOMA (YOIMIYA/AYAKA)

thoma struck pure gold in terms of finding the absolute best friends he could ever ask for!! yoimiya is the passion and confidence he needs and ayaka stays rational and talks him out of anything stupid (*´ω｀*)

now, yoimiya has been telling him to confess for months. years. eons. ever since she caught wind of his little infatuation with you, she told him to go for it, thoma!! what could possibly go wrong?

…which was met with ayaka telling him to calm down and go about it slowly, thoma. spending more time with them and getting closer gradually is better than just springing it on them out of nowhere like that

it’s safe to say he’s struggling a little trying to decide what to do |(￣3￣)|

even though yoimiya and ayaka couldn’t exactly agree on the way thoma should go about asking you to be his, they did however agree that this couldn’t go on any longer - poor thoma is all up in his head because of you!! (´；Д；`)

so, they decide to help out! thoma’s birthday was coming up anyways, and what’s a better gift than to finally be able to confess his love to the person he’s been pining after for so long? (๑･̑◡･̑๑)

they had a perfect plan - the two of you would be sent out on your own, you believing you’re the ‘distraction’ that has to buy some time and while you’re walking around (with coincidentally placed flower petals and pretty lights everywhere), yoimiya is going to set off the prettiest fireworks!!

it’s going to be the perfect moment for both of you to come clean about your feelings and arrive to the birthday party as couple!! (๑>◡<๑)

yoimiya is burning with excitement and works on the fireworks with a completely new found fervour while ayaka is organising the surprise party~

they’re both just so excited to see thoma be happy with you :(( <3

and when the day finally comes, it all seemingly goes according to plan - you’re out with thoma ‘distracting’ him and buying time for the people still decorating the kamisato residence, then the fireworks go off - it all went smoothly!! ayaka and yoimiya are both excitedly waiting for you two to walk in (｡･ω･｡)

and you do walk in!! you’re both smiling, thoma very obviously excited, and yoimiya can’t help but blurt out, FINALLY! FINALLY YOU ASKED Y/N OUT!!

…never had anyone see the smile on thoma’s face warp into utter confusion so quickly 😀

w-what? i didn’t- what? - you…you didn’t? but…the plan? the light? the flowers? the ‘distraction’? the fireworks???

seems like they both planned everything to a t, except for letting thoma know what he’s supposed to do (´；ω；`)

in the heat of all the confusion (and embarassment, honestly) you excuse yourself and thoma and drag him outside - and the next time you enter the room, the smile on thoma’s face won’t be dropping so quickly ♪( ´▽｀)~

#ZHONGLI (HU TAO)

not once did zhongli even so much as mention you around hu tao, and still, she somehow figured out that he’s particularly fond of you?? and zhongli hates it!! _:(´ཀ`」 ∠):

she’ll randomly be like, oh! hey y/n!! just to watch zhongli turn around, ready to greet you with a tiny smile on his face, only to be met with no one…(￣￣) his smile drops so fast </3

hu tao’s thriving and zhongli’s losing his mind!!

she also always brings you up, no matter what they’re talking about! he’ll mention going to lunch and hu tao’s like, ah yes, lunch, try eating it with y/n, though! i think it’ll taste better!

the amount of times she almost said something in front of you is way too high to count!! and coincidentally, it’s the same amount of times zhongli almost suffered a heart attack (ﾟωﾟ)…

you see, zhongli actually does plan to confess to you - on his own terms, though. he absolutely does not want to rush anything or ruin whatever platonic bond you built over time

he wants to be sure that you also harbour romantic feelings for him!! so, he decides to wait; decides to be patient and let you relationship grow naturally until it feels right

…hu tao doesn’t think that his approach is very fun, to be honest. actually, she thinks it’s ridiculously boring!! why would he wait that long? and what’s that about letting your relationship grow naturally??? pffff- not on her watch!

straight up telling you about it wouldn’t be much fun, so hu tao decided to organise a cute little date, invite you in zhongli’s name via a little note, tell zhongli that you invited him for dinner and then she’ll just see what happens!!

and to even her own surprise…it worked quite well? zhongli was a little suspicious when she told him you invited him to dinner, but nonetheless, he took the chance - because what if it was actually you, and he didn’t show up? the idea of even accidentally standing you up makes his heart hurt (´･Д･)」

the two of you are having a great time and at one point zhongli kind of just decides that this right now is the perfect moment - you’re both smiling from ear to ear, listening to each other’s stories and basking the presence of one another

y/n, pardon me if this is not the right time, but, what would you say if i took the liberty of asking you out on a date? a real, formal date. romantically, of course.

hu tao was listening the whole time and she’s both flabbergasted and impressed?? she didn’t expect it to actually work!! 10/10 for herself, 10/10 for you and 7.5/10 for zhongli because the way he asked you out was way too formal for hu tao ψ(｀∇´)ψ

izuku midoriya thinks it's the cutest thing in the goddamn world when you ramble. he can listen to you talk for fucking hours. and he just sits there, writing it down in the notebook of his mind with love struck eyes and a dreamy expression on his freckled face.

katsuki bakugou is the type that's all "stay the hell out of my kitchen" at first, but when you share an eagerness to learn he can't help but love the idea of teaching you. calloused hands guiding you through slicing an onion and reminding you to curl in the tips of your fingers so you don't cut them.

when shouto todoroki is finally comfortable enough to tell you the details of his childhood, the nitty gritty and ugly parts of it that he doesn't ever really tell anyone there's a weight lifted off his chest and he can finally breathe again. he never knew what it was like to not be weighed down by the past and all he can think is that your demons live in him too and the world doesn't feel so lonely anymore.

denki kaminari is so surprised the first time he finally gets the courage to kiss you he accidentally shocks you; hair stranding up wildly and you feel like you just pressed your lips to a dryer sheet. He's embarrassed, cheeks and nose turning a bright shade of red that even reaches to the tips of his ears but he can't help but sigh when you laugh and lean in for another one.

keigo takami is nothing short of flattered the first time you walk up to him and ask him to take you flying. something strange happens to his heart; feeling like it's much too big for his chest when he looks at the way you're nervously twisting your hands in front of you. But the pure joy, the elated way you look at him when you realize you can touch clouds.

todoroki touya isn’t a despicable man.

at least, you don’t think he is.

not as he gently holds your hand in his, applying rubbing alcohol with a cotton ball to make sure your cut doesn’t get infected — wrapping it in a bandage, making sure it isn’t too incredibly tight.

“ya gotta be more careful,” he starts, looks up at you with such tenderness you want to be drowned in all of his love. “or what will ya do when i’m not ‘round?”

“it was an accident, i’m always careful.”

“obviously not careful enough.”

you rest your head against his chest, sigh. the sound of his beating heart blends with the sound of rain and you look down at the way touya still holds onto your hand — softly, lovingly.

todoroki touya is a good lover, you think.

and not only because he bandages your hand, but because he makes you feel safe in the wee hours of the night — when there’s thunder, when you have a nightmare. because he feeds you cantaloupe on hot summer days out on your balcony, because you feel him pour his love into your heart and soul as he holds you by the waist as you shower.

you stare up at him, sheepish smile on your face. “then you’ll have to stay with me forever, huh?” you lean back again, wrap your arms around his neck.

“yeah,” he caresses your cheek with his thumb and you feel that tender love again. “i guess so.”

it’s quiet — todoroki touya doesn’t think he deserves your sweet loving, thinks he doesn’t deserve to wake up next to you every morning.

and as if you feel his silent doubts and worries, you smile, kiss him. “i love you.”

because todoroki touya deserves the universe, not the cruel world. he deserves the moon and the stars and every flower plucked by your hands (because, you think, you’d like to give every single one to him).

his breath catches in his throat. “i love you, too.”

todoroki touya isn’t a despicable man.

at least, you don’t think he is.

not when he’s handed you his heart on a silver platter and not when he treats you with such gentleness.

Crystalflies and Calla Lilies

kaeya x reader

although Kaeya has never been keen on celebrating his birthday, you just couldn't help yourself

a/n; I would have written and posted this yesterday had I not been so busy. it's a bit rushed as you may be able to tell but I still wanted to post something for kaeya because he deserves it. happy belated birthday to my beautiful wife!

When you came knocking on Kaeya's door at exactly 12.00 am he was worried to say the least. He was expecting some kind of threat or danger to succeed the sound of your voice at such an hour. So when he opened the door, weapon at the ready, to you beaming with a radiant smile akin to the sunlight at noonday, that worry immediately dissipated, leaving only confusion behind. And he sunk further into this confusion when you dragged him from out of his quarters and out of the walls of Mondstadt.

He quickly gave up on questioning what exactly you were doing, simply going with the flow, a soft chuckle escaping his lips each time he caught the determined glint in your eye. You refused to answer his questions or respond to any teasing or gentle taunts, just telling him to keep following you. So he did. He followed you past Springvale and even past the Winery until the two of you reached a more secluded but still atmospheric and scenic part of Mondstadt.

All of a sudden, you let go of his hand and started running forwards in front of the two of you. You stopped abruptly before throwing your hands in the air and whisper-yelling ‘surprise!’. This made Kaeya really pause to take a look around. You stopped by a river bank decorated by all kinds of flowers, mainly snapdragons and, your lover’s favourite, calla lilies. The night sky was illuminated by the numerous crystalflies dancing in the air while the moon light waltzed with them on the surface of the water. With you in the middle, the scene was absolutely breathtaking.

“What’s all this?” Kaeya breathed out, not even bothering to mask the genuine surprise in his voice.

“A little birthday gift for you since I know you didn’t want any grand gestures! Happy birthday”, you spoke, trying to contain your excitement.

You knew that your partner was never particularly fond of celebrating his own birthday, he never really enjoyed anything that meant drawing attention to or dwelling on himself for too long. For this reason, he has always avoided birthday celebrations and even tries to elude telling people his birthday much like when he told Klee he was born on the 31st of February. He knew he shouldn’t have been as surprised as he was that the person he loves the most wanted to celebrate the day he came into existence in a way he would be comfortable with but he just couldn't help it.

“Thank you sweetheart,” he murmured while swiftly catching a crystalfly in his fist before unfurling his fingers to reveal only the crystal core. “Truly, thank you.”

He neatly tucked it within your hair so that it rested on top of your ear and gave your temple a gentle kiss as he pulled away. And it was then that with both eyes revealed to you, you saw Kaeya bare and as he was – uncertain but still grateful – and the stars in his eyes glimmered with adoration for you.

“I didn’t really do much”, you smiled, enjoying the view of your boyfriend under the moonlight, the luminous crystalflies fluttering around seemingly highlighting him.

“You know,” Kaeya began as he lowered himself to the ground and started picking the calla lilies one by one. “It’s been so long since I celebrated my birthday that I actually forgot about it until now.”

A wistful smile made its way across his lips and you didn’t miss the melancholy glint in his eyes as he looked at the flowers in his hands.

“Well, I’m glad to be the first to celebrate with you after all this time”, you spoke softly as you sat down besides him, picking a flower out of his hand to place gently behind his ear.

Your tenderness rendered Kaeya speechless, leaving him struggling to choose words that could accurately express his feelings in that moment. He felt as though his heart wasn’t supposed to carry so much love for anyone in his lifetime so all of that love was overflowing in that moment, cutting off the connection between his brain and mouth. Though that didn’t matter, he didn’t need to say anything because you started speaking first.

“You’ve given me an idea, actually”, you sprung up on your two feet. “Crystal cores would be good for styling your hair, no?”

And as Kaeya watched you clumsily leap and stagger around in attempts to catch crystalflies as opposed to his sleek movements from earlier, he wondered if you were even aware of what he was really thanking you for earlier. Not only had you made him start to enjoy the thought of seeing another birthday, you also made him realise that he truly wasn’t alone anymore. Because of you, he never would be again.

Levi didn’t care for the mall. It was an obnoxious place and simply put, it gave him a headache. So when you asked him to come with you to pick up a pair of new shoes, he begrudgingly accepted.

You got your shoes with no problem, and Levi was looking forward to finally getting home. That’s when your eyes lit up at the sight of a photobooth; he didn’t know what was so exciting, but when you dragged him inside he rolled his eyes and followed.

The second you pushed some coins inside the slot, your arms flew around his neck and you pressed your cheek against his, smiling ear to ear with that toothy grin that made his heart flutter.

Ignoring the snapping of the camera, his eyes strayed to you. A smile crept onto his face, before you gently cupped his cheek and moved his face so he was looking at the camera.

A protective arm looping around your waist, he allowed you to hold onto him for dear life, and a warm feeling spread across his chest.

For the first time he could remember, he was smiling for a picture.

The photo strips were precious. On the first one, Levi’s looking his usual, grumpy self, then you watch as he begins to smile, mesmerised by your face. In the next picture, you’re redirecting his face to the camera; then finally, the perfect picture of you two smiling.

Months had passed, and you’d almost forgotten the whole thing. That was until the morning of your anniversary- he handed you a photo, small enough to fit in your wallet.

The picture is of him and you, cheek to cheek, his arm around your waist and yours around his neck. The rare smile on his face is small, not wide and sunny like yours, but the content look in his eyes communicates everything it needs to.

Inked on the white space below the picture, with his blue fountain pen and smooth handwriting, it tells you what he’s always thinking.

We all know Levi grew up in terrible conditions and was taught how to kill by Kenny.

But this man just wants the best for you.

You were of course a lot younger than him, but he saw you as a sister/daughter to him.

Refuses to acknowledge that he cares about you.

This man will literally walk past you without caring but then in private will care about your wellbeing.

Erwin is definitely a father to you.

It’s already established, him and Levi started caring for you at such a young age that they’re just your two dads.

You don’t call them dad though or they’ll both glare at you.

Didn’t want you to join the scouts, Levi more, he knew the risk and he knew you; it wasn’t a good mix.

Refuses to let you leave to join the cadets corps, you sneak behind his back and Hanje definitely planned it all out for you to join.

Angry Levi couldn’t do anything.

You joined the 104th and instantly became friends with everybody.

Hard for Levi to visit you as much but in the two years he would send letters.

So cute right. No it isn’t.

Half of it is always an angry rant about how he hates you joining, and the other half is his anger at Hanje.

When you graduate you see Erwin who gives you the widest smile and a big, I miss you hug.

It had been months since you’d seen Levi and he missed you.

His short self-will hug you in front of people, he wants to be nice to you.

But he hits your head for actually joining the scouts.

Cue your confused friends.

The ceremony to decide where you and the 104th would spend the rest of your lives, as everybody had started to leave, getting there stuff to follow their new commander. You went up to Erwin a smile on his face, “Y/n.”

You smile back opening your arms for one of his hugs that you had missed, even if you saw Levi every 6 months, you hadn’t seen Erwin since you left. Now here you were under his command, “Erwin, I missed you.”

He hugged back, lifting you up like a child, your legs dangling off the ground. It was the exact same hug you had felt in your years with them, you had been taken in by the scouts after your parents death. Never expecting to have finally joined the scouts you felt accomplished of having gotten into the top ten and now fight alongside Levi and Erwin.

“I missed you too.” He let go looking at your much shorter frame, “Levi will murder you.”

“Can’t wait.” You laugh hearing your friends call your name.

“I’ll see you soon.” You nod, he ruffles your hair before you run to your friends.

You had become a lot closer to those who had joined the corps with you especially Armin, Sasha and Jean. It was relieving to know you weren’t joining the scouts alone, of course you knew Eren the suicidal manic was joining but since the titan incident. You didn’t really know what was going on and would have to pressure Levi for answers.

“What did Commander Erwin have to ask?” Armin spoke, in the two years with them, they didn’t know a lot about your life. They knew your parents were dead but had assumed you lived with other relatives and not spent your days with the scouts. Of course even the scouts had to admit that teaching a kid how to wield a knife was a recipe for creating another Levi.

Which if Levi got asked about it, he would disregard the answer. Even though he was the first person to teach you how to use a knife and even the ODM gear, which made you a natural pro on the second day at the cadet corps.

“Oh nothing really.” You quickly moved onto how you were ready for this and how you weren’t worried at all.

You had always asked to go with Levi outside the walls, but you’d get the same glare with silence. Indicating a clear no, even Erwin gave you a look of no and that’s final. You couldn’t wait to experience real titans outside the walls, of course in Trost you had seen the titans but this, this would be with Levi properly.

The arrival to where the scouts were was quick, horses and an old castle which looked unclean was in your eyeline. You knew Levi had probably made his squad clean it, feeling sympathy for them and how Hanje was probably experimenting with her own titans. Meeting the section commander that would be in charge of you and your friends and going through your positions for the 57th expedition was a lot, all you wanted to do was to see Levi.

You really did miss them, but it was worth it all to be able to fight alongside them against the titans. All stepping into where you saw some men, you smiled which they reciprocated. Nobody had really asked anything about it assuming you knew them from back home. You all heard Eren behind you smiling at the boy. You had to give it to the boy he knew what he wanted, and he was certainly going to get it.

“Y/n, I knew you’d keep your promise to join.” Eren grinned out remembering the first day you both had met. You had been as adamant as him to join but your reasons a lot more different, Jean having made fun of you both.

But the horse face stood right beside you, a shock to the titan boy, as they spoke about the death of Marco it was a lot to take in when you and Jean had told everybody. Having both found him together, and it had broken you to see a friend dead, just another body in the numbers. Being passed the capes, you put it on before a voice you had missed.

“Y/n.” It was Levi’s emotionless self, you grinned happily going towards him. Eren had told you about how he had been in Levi’s squad, so you assumed Levi hadn’t said anything.

You didn’t care if they knew about the parental relationship you had with Levi, you missed him too much to care. “Levi.” You stood in front of him, “oops sorry Captain Levi.”

“Don’t say that, brat.” You suppressed a laugh.

“How do I look?”

“Tired.” He muttered; you shoved his shoulder at his remark.

You had missed him a lot, the letters and two-minute meetings every six months had not done your relationship justice. He grabbed your arms bringing you into a hug, which you happily took, “I missed you, brat.”

“I missed you too, old man.” You hugged back, the past two years having took a toll on both of you, him more. He looked even more dull and emotionless and you knew you’d had to talk to him about it afterwards.

He let go, before grabbing your ear and dragging you down to his height. He hit the back on your head, “ow, ow, ow” You repeated multiple times, his grip on your ear getting tighter.

“This is what you get for joining.” After every word he hit the back of your head, before letting you go. “When Erwin told Hanje and I you joined, I had to kill you myself before the titans got a chance.”

“Levi, don’t be like that, I’ve been gone for two years.”

He crossed his arms glaring at you, “Hanje wants to see you.”

“You just don’t want to admit that you wanted me to join.” He scowls before leading you away from your friends, their faces confused and agape at what had happened.

“Are they related?” Connie questioned.

“They’re not, she would’ve told us, maybe they’re dating…” Sasha speaks which leads to a horrified look.

Jean pipes up quickly dismissing the thought entirely, “he’s like 30 that’s gross and Y/n isn’t like that.”

“We’ll ask her once she comes back.” Armin spoke being the only sane one around in the group.

Levi had taken you to see Hanje who looked to be holding some sort of titan skin. It looked gross and both you and Levi gave a knowing look, “you missed me.”

In an instant her eyes moved to your body in the scout cape and uniform, she dropped the material squealing as she encased you in a tight hug. You hugged her back, missing her and her craziness, she let go before quickly hitting the back of your head.

“Ow, not again.” You muttered rubbing the back of your head after the torment of Levi.

“I’m glad Levi hit you, I can’t hit you anymore all I see are those cute eyes.” She pulls at your cheeks which seems to be even more painful than the hitting before letting go. “All grown up, I’ve missed you.”

“I missed you too.” The three of you had a catchup on what had occurred, being filled in on Eren’s position and the plan that Erwin had thought up off. But even then, his plan had gaps and you knew he was keeping stuff not from the new recruits but captains and section commanders alike.

Levi took you back to where the recruits were, he left with a small smile, no goodbye as he waved you off whilst walking. Like an animal being shooed away, you chuckled shaking your head as you walked to see Jean and Eren looking angry at one another. “What’d I miss now?”

You had a hop in your step and a bright grin that your friends hadn’t seen ever, “you know captain Levi.” Eren had disregarded your question and was now asking his own.

“Oh yeah I do.” Is all you said, Armin passing you a slice of bed, you had a hunch the food had gone and were glad Hanje had offered you food due to her thinking you hadn’t eaten enough whilst in the cadet corps.

You bit into it, not knowing what else to say, whilst looking down. “Care to elaborate.” Jean spoke out.

“Oh he took me in when my parents died, I’ve been around the survey corps since I was six.” You bit into the bread uninterested in wanting to speak about your background.

“And…” Connie continued on.

“And there’s nothing else about it, Levi and Erwin brought me up that’s basically it.” You stressed the and, throwing the piece of bread you had ripped off up in the air and catching it in your mouth.

“You could’ve told us Y/n.” Eren spoke up, it was what everybody had been thinking but hadn’t had the guts to say.

You look at them, bread stuff in your mouth, swallowing it with ease, “I didn’t think it was important.”

“Important, Y/n it’s who you are you, it’s how you easily beat Mikasa for top spot, how you knew exactly how to use the ODM gear and kill those titans in Trost.” Eren’s anger was either out of spite or jealousy but you didn’t know what.

“Look I worked for that spot and yeah maybe I have been around the scouts longer than you have, but consider my point of view, they raised me and they’re family to me and I thought you guys were my family as well…” you pause staring at each one of them individually, “…clearly I was wrong.”

In an instance you leave the place, trudging up the stairs and leaning against the cold grey bricks. It looked even more uncleaned in person, a habit you’d gotten off Levi. You saw some lights come up towards you, seeing your ‘friends’ with lanterns.

“I’m sorry.” Eren apologised sitting beside you.

You whispered, “it’s okay.” As they all crowded around you, giving sympathetic looks.

“So has Captain Levi always been a clean freak.” Eren questioned trying to ease the tension.

You laugh turning to the boy, “that man is practically in love with bleach and a wet cloth.”

They laugh and the tension disappearing as Eren spoke of his time with the squad and how you all spoke about Trost and the many memories that you all shared together. Levi had come outside to see what the noise was, he saw you surrounded by your friends laughing and joking about.

A quiet whisper coming from his mouth, “I’m glad you made friends Y/n.” A gratitude that you weren’t alone and that you had people around you that would become your team when outside the walls. He knew you’d be safe and that not only had you spent the two years training for the expedition but how someone would always have your back.

BAKUGOU KATSUKI

“Stop it brat” he wrinkles his brow as he pins you against the wall, your wrists in his big hand as he tries to lift you onto his shoulder, “I don’t feel like playing, it’s been a long day.”

“I’m tired, please” he says more softly as he walks into the bedroom, and he really is tired. So tired that he takes his measurements wrong and drops you way too much on the edge of the bed.

You wince as you end up on the floor. His eyes snap open before he flops down beside you himself, “shit, baby” he hisses through clenched teeth bringing one hand behind your back to gently stroke you and the other to your head studding your hair with kisses, “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.”

When he pulls you up this time he’s more careful, he sits on the bed with you in his lap, “you okay, baby?” he asks holding you tight, his chin on your head and he’s so cute when he’s not acting like an angry Pomeranian that you pretend it still hurts just to be cuddled a little more.
