Changbin: Are you wearing makeup? Where’d your freckles go?
Felix: Huh? Oh no, winter just makes my freckles fade.
Changbin: I see...

Changbin: [beating the snow with a shovel while angry mumbling] Give. Him. His. Freckles. Back. You. Bitch.

Finn has fire powers that he has a hard time controlling, so Roark’s garbage joke is extra snarky!
Characters belong to @authormagrant from her new book Prince of Air and Darkness, coming Feb 2019!

Finian: Being bi means you can only like two things.
Finian: So I've chosen sarcasm and the Jones twins.

Once & Future by Amy Rose Capetta and Cori McCarthy
I finished this one yesterday and had a great time reading it. Do you like space and sword fights? How about King Arthur? How about a lady King Arthur who kicks a whole lotta ass?
This YA adventure novel is about Ari, the 42nd incarnation of King Arthur, and her quest to take down the evil Mercer Company. Merlin is stuck as a teenager, Morgana is stuck as a ghost, and Ari is stuck fixing the universe’s mess. It’s got amazing queer POC rep, shenanigans, a whole planet that’s a Renaissance Faire, prison breaks, intergalactic conflict, and the wlw characters don’t die! Ari has two moms! Lam is genderfluid! Merlin is gay! Ari is a lesbian (with a sword)! Jordan is ace! And this story is so fun!
And the authors just got engaged!
The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue and it’s sequel The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee
I LOVE THESE BOOKS. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. The voice is spectacular, the characters are such incredibly lovable disasters, and the adventure is so much goddamn fun. This was the most fun I’ve ever had reading a book.
Gentleman’s Guide is about Monty, a rich pretty boy bisexual disaster, Percy, his best friend in the whole world, and Felicity, Monty’s super nerdy younger sister who wants to study medicine, going on the Grand Tour of Europe, which is what young people used to do in the 1700s to get all the partying out of their system before they had to be productive members of society.
Monty is in love with his best friend Percy. Monty is also a huge mess. Percy is the sweetest cinnamon roll. Felicity is so done with her brother’s nonsense. And then Monty yoinks something that sends them all on a wild adventure around the Continent. Please read this book. You will not regret it.
The sequel is about Felicity’s own adventures after the events of Gentleman’s Guide and is an amazing girl gang romp through the high seas. Also Felicity is ace and I love her so much. And there’s a big cuddly dog. [And a novella coming out in November I am so excited you have no idea.]
