I headcanon that Crosshair actually writes in the most beautiful cursive. Like shockingly beautiful. Very perfectly slanted, even letters. The others probably tease him about it a little (“you write like a GIRL”) but secretly they love it because it’s just so NICE.
“Tech told me all about your…SPARKLING personality” I wanna know what Tech told Phee about Crosshair that made her so confidently sarcastic in that moment, like
Tech: oh yes, our brother Crosshair. Best sniper in the GAR, possibly the galaxy. He always kept an eye on us through his scope while we were on the battlefield.
Phee: that’s ni—
Tech: sure, he is cold and unyielding and incredibly stubborn and a little arrogant, but he always means well. He does like to pick fights with regs, but you can’t blame him, after being bullied all his life.
Phee: I guess we all have our—
Tech: there was that time where he got super upset with Hunter for not murdering that Jedi on Kaller. Then he tried to convince us to murder civilians. But he abandoned us for the Empire after that, so it wasn’t really a repeating problem.
Phee: wait—
Tech: that was when he shot Wrecker. Oh, and he tried to roast us alive in a spaceship engine. That was all under the influence of the inhibitor chip, though. Supposedly he’s had it removed since then. So his murderous tendencies have probably chilled out a little bit.
Phee:
Tech: he also used to eat glue.
“If you haven’t shot each other at least once, are you even brothers??” —Crosshair, to Wrecker, at some point probably
Omega: hi I’m Omega!!
The rest of the batch: 🤔🙄😑
Tech: *in his head* child?? Human child?? Kaminoan-created human child?? Origin?? Purpose?? Genetic composition?? Must scan this fascinating creature.
I just KNOW that Crosshair and Tech were the most chaotic duo back on Kamino. Tech is literally terrifying. He’s the most intelligent and the most practical, yet the man watched two (2) illegal high speed races and was like “eh yeah I could beat that system” and then DID. His unhingedness is a CHOICE. Combine that with Crosshair, who hated your guts before the Kaminoans even bred them in a tube, who picked three (3) physical fights with his COs in a four-episode arc, and you know they got up to the most chaotic shenanigans together as cadets. Poor Hunter has probably been trying to keep them out of prison since they could walk
This has been said a thousand times in a thousand different ways, but I just adore how Din Djarin found himself suddenly taking care of a strange alien kid with magic powers, and he is just like, “Yep, alright, this is cool, I can do this.” No questions asked (except for helpful ones, like “does this look Jedi to you??”), no hesitation (even when he has to give up said kid). I feel like too often, we see characters stall because of disbelief or skepticism when it comes to the unknown, but Din just straps the kid to his armor and his rifle to his back and embraces it. It’s not even heroism, it’s just decency
You know what just occurred to me?? When Crosshair said “clone force 99 died with Tech” it implies that, to him, his brothers continued to be CF 99 after HE left, but not after Tech was gone. He was a disposable part of their team, Tech was not. CF 99 could exist without Crosshair. It could not exist without Tech. And him returning did not revive CF 99, because Tech was still gone. So it wasn’t about numbers/size, it was about the people in the squad. Without Crosshair, it’s the same. But without Tech, it’s not. And I just—
Gorgeous. Just stunning. 20/10
the one sunny day ever
No literally that conversation would have been pure gold. Wrecker is completely exaggerating the romance, Omega is all giggly, Hunter is trying to be mature and keep things under control, and Crosshair is just floored
we were absolutely robbed of this followup moment:
Phee: Any friend of Brown Eyes [Tech] is a friend of mine.
Phee: [turns around and starts heading for her ship]
Crosshair: [turns his head to Hunter with the most confused look ever on his face]
Crosshair: [mouthing silently to Hunter] "Brown Eyes" ???
“No matter how badly led, ridiculously under equipped, under appreciated, no matter how doomed their mission, they take a bizarre and quite beautiful pride in at least being screwed more than everybody else and doing it with style. They seem to do what they do for themselves. It’s not a job. It’s a calling.” —Anthony Bourdain
This quote just reminds me of the bad batch 💛
I bet Tech created a group chat with the rest of the squad and Phee, and that’s the moment when Hunter and Wrecker knew something was up
Tech made the excuse of it being a good idea “because she may have more work opportunities for us in the future, and has proven to be a reliable ally” and “Omega seems to have taken a liking to her, and it would benefit her to stay in touch with her friends across the galaxy when possible” but Hunter and Wrecker just glanced at each other and smirked a little bit and then Tech spent the next forty five minutes trying to prevent Wrecker from sending “hey Phee, Tech thinks you’re pretty” into the group chat
