Oh goodness gracious
Tumblr please understand that just because I post critics of bnha does not mean I want to see posts about the show UNLESS its about slandering them.
I switch to For You for one second thinking I was going to get a fresh feed of media I genuinely care about. But no its flooded with shows I’ve slandered being praised one way or another.
Quite frankly idgaf about the general census fandoms portrayal about the show. Not the inside jokes, fanart, fanfic, headcanons, fanon portrayal, ships or controversial discourses surrounding themes like (allegations for) marginalised identities & oppression because who are we kidding thinking Horikoshi did a great job at it when he himself never even faced such things.
For example there’s no point of me caring about ships like togachoko when the canon itself couldn’t even handle it right. Because from what I could tell it didn’t know if it wanted to be portrayed as positive or toxic. Don’t care about its fandom discourses like if Oochako is suffering from comphet, if Oochako deserved Toga from Izuku, if Oochako’s bisexual, if this and thats the fourth.
And I’m saying this as a (Asexual) Lesbian who does genuinely care about representation. Same thing can be said for other aspects but I don’t want to get too ahead of myself and possibly alienate myself.
If you genuinely believe Horikoshi did a good job at portraying lesbians like that then 🤷♀️ All I’m saying is theres no point emotionally exhausting yourself in those fandom discourse if the creator themselves has shown time again to fumble even their own canon representation. You honestly deserve better than that.
Heck, I don’t even want to see fanart /fanon from my supposed favourite character Hitoshi Shinsou. Only canon screencap/manga panels and slander off him. Miserable fucker is not even getting a smile from me.
And I also do not care to emotionally invest myself with the canon anymore. Cba to care about the vigilante, movies, sideplots or whatever. Don’t want to actively see that unless its just canon posting without any bias comments.
The only thing I want to see from the mha tags is criticism, slander, and better reimagines.
Yes ik I sound miserable. No I would not go out of my way to deliberately shit in the fandoms tags and ruin it for everyone. Yes I get some ppl are emotionally invested in this series. No I don’t want to see any positive praises on my feed especially if its bias driven.
I’ve got to start actively cultivating my feed. I didn’t want to block bnha / mha tags because thats just doing too much. But now you leave me no choice Tumblr
((Tbh this can be said for other shows I once used to be a fan of that I’ve grown to hate. i.e Miraculous, Doctor Who))
What is with the constant fetishisation of rape and SA on this app and in fan fiction?? I get people have their kinks n shit but rape??? Really???
Not only that but the amount of pedophilia and incest is insane😟
I try not to be judgemental but I don’t get why you would want to read about yourself or someone else being SA how does that not make you uncomfortable and normalising shit like that is so not okay. It is not romance. It is not dark romance. It’s abuse and it’s gross.
I get that people are into different things and that you can’t control what you like most of the time but the normalisation of this stuff is crazy and so damaging especially to minors and victims.
I get CNC like atleast there’s consent in that but straight up violent rape fiction is weird and scary.
Anyway thanks for reading my lil rant!! love you all, stay happy and safe MWAH 💋
Edit: I have a reblog answering a few questions 🫶
MHA Wild AF for calling this man a villain when really he was just activating for basic human rights
No x reader, I hope its okay! 😅🙏
A SFW request where Muzan is REALLY just a timid and easily scared guy, who everyone somehow thinks is terrifying and evil.
Only the uppermoons knows what he's really like and is very protective of him because if his kind and timid personality.
Could I have some headcanons about their thoughts on this Muzan?
I don't usually write for Gyokko due to my incompatibility to understand his personality well enough to write about him, but I figured it'd be a good writing challenge for me.
Wordcount: 996
The title “Demon King” is already fearsome enough. No demon dares utter the king’s name in fear of his curse he’s instilled to the species. Any demon who talks bad about their progenitor often faces the wrath of the Upper Moons. Demons who get summoned to the Infinity Castle assume the king is mad at him, why else would he be shaking in anger?
In truth, he’s shaking of fear. The Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji, the one who leads the Demon species, is a total coward. Understandably, having a burning feeling in your throat after taking a vaccine in hopes to strengthen the weak body that left you bedridden for almost your entire life would be scary. Finding yourself with growing strength and hunger after taking said vaccine, then killing the doctor who made a cure to save you from death, then the terrible thirst for human flesh and cannibalizing the species you used to be, would be terrifying for anyone.
Muzan’s newfound abilities and thirst for blood left him feeling scared, especially once the Demon Slayer Corporation formed and sought out to destroy him. He eats humans to survive just as humans eat cattle to survive, why are they attacking him when he’s just trying to live as another other human would? To save himself from being hunted down, he’s found a way to multiply demons and build himself his own army to defend himself (more so slow the slayers down from getting to him). As the years went by and demons populated Japan (possibly the entire world) six demons made their presence known in the demon world for their strength.
As possibly the first Upper Moon and one of the oldest demons to still exist, he’s been by Muzan’s side for centuries. The Upper Moon originally joined Muzan after gaining his mark as a Demon Slayer, but after learning a slayer with a mark doesn’t live past 25, he became a demon.
Now that he works under Muzan, he's seen Muzan true self (the one most demons aren't aware of) he's not entirely sure if he's scared of the demon or not. The only reason he doesn't fight or kill Muzan would be because of Muzan's abilities. Muzan may be a coward, but he can certainly protect himself if it comes to that.
Kokushibo thinks it's a little admirable, to live in a world where those hate and seek to kill you, then to dominate an entire species to your beckoning call, it evens the scale out and makes up for Muzan's cowardliness.
Douma thinks it's quite enjoyable that Muzan is a scaredy-cat. He likes hiding in the Infinity Castle and waiting for Muzan to turn the corner so he can jump at him (he almost got his head slashed off for that). Douma might hold back on his teasing of Muzan if Koushibo says something about it.
During meetings, he'll purposely act out to see if Muzan is brave enough to punish him (it usually results in a fight with him and Akaza, a argument with Daki, or Nakime having enough and teleporting him out of the Infinity Castle).
Douma doesn't understand how mean his actions are due to his inability to understand or feel much emotions, but Akaza can hit him enough to realize when his words are uncalled for. Douma doesn't see Muzan as weak, he understands Muzan's strength, he just doesn't have much attachment to his own life and therefore has no fear in teasing Muzan.
Akaza loathes Muzan's real personality. He doesn't like weak people; demons are no exception—especially if you're the demon king. He believes that Muzan should pass his title down to someone with a more authoritative persona, but that's until he realizes how powerful Muzan truly is.
Akaza may not like Muzan's timid personality, but he does respect Muzan's ability to hold up in battle, earning Akaza's position as the third Upper Moon. Akaza doesn't know whether to interpret Muzan's kindness as him pitying Akaza for being weaker than him, or if Muzan's just truly being nice because of the goodness of his heart.
Hantengu understands Muzan's timid personality. Hantengu will gladly hide with Muzan somewhere if one of them feels threatened or scared. Despite them both having a timid personality, he does still feel fearful of Muzan and acts like he's walking on eggshells because he knows of Muzan's true strength. He believes Muzan's personality is misleading.
Gyokko isn't sure whether to feel pity for Muzan or make fun of his personality. He might make a few teasing comments, but unlike Douma, he values his life a bit more. He thinks it's artistic (oddly enough), he believes Muzan's appearance and aura screams "intimidation" yet Muzan's true personality is just being a scared and loving coward.
Gyokko likes to make vases for Muzan, he believes Muzan won't take it as a sign of disrespect to his higher up (Muzan loves the vases).
Gyutaro laughs at the irony; the most powerful demon being a scaredy cat, it's funny to him. Gyutaro doesn't make fun of Muzan because he's afraid of Muzan's strength. Daki, however, does not find his personality as funny like how Gyutaro does. Daki has a little crush on Muzan because of his thoughtfulness to her and Gyutaro.
Daki will defend Muzan and lash out at Douma and Gyokko if they pick on Muzan (Gyutaro will reluctantly back her up). Gyutaro might feel pity for Muzan at times, but in those cases he doesn't really do anything other than listen more to Muzan. Daki aims to please him so she does whatever he requests of her, going above and beyond to prove how useful she is to him.

There is such a profound difference in the way Tanjiro's trauma is handled compared to Izuku's.
Tanjiro's pain isn't ignored. It's part of him, and the narrative goes out of its way to acknowledge that he's still affected by it even when he's smiling. Even in this scene where it's a villager internally acknowledging his pain, it's still Tanjiro's expression and gestures that are communicating with us.
Izuku is so disconnected from his trauma. To the point where we never even get to know how he feels about it. We hear speculation from All Might, talking to his abuser no less. Izuku isn't even present in this scene, he's off to the side.
You can see who actually cares for their MC as a character and who just uses their MC whenever it's convenient
I finish watching this show last week and... aaaah I never thought I would love it this much.
Here some doodles 💖

shipping renkaza fucking sucks because you either get people who hate real enemies to lovers and call it toxic or pr*ship because they actually are enemies who want to kill each other instead of friends who bicker sometimes (these people are the weakest link and will not survive the winter)
or you get people who do ship it but only in the gooner dumbing-it-down-to-hardcore-porn way where they romanticize and get off to abuse and r*pe (these people are just gross sick individuals and i hope they go extinct)
and the few people who do see the emotional depth in the homoerotic minutes renkaza spent together and the potential in that for top tier doomed yaoi are few and far in between and i rarely find good fics that aren't just insanely ooc porn
I think I finally realize why the writing in BNKA always puts me off in some way, something I've been saying for a while but never got a chance to go into detail.
The writing in BNKA feels like narrative manipulation.
I've come to this conclusion after seeing how the fandom reacts to certain moments and compare them to earlier scenes. And that was when it all clicked for me to come up with this word.
With how the unholy three started out (Bakugou, Aizawa, and Endeavor) then seeing their personalities and how others view them take a complete 180 to view them in a better light, that's what I'm referring to as narrative manpulation.
With Bakugou starting out as a bully and supposedly "changing" so others can say "Wow what a great guy he is!" And praise him to the moon and back... it's literally middle school all over again for him.
With Aizawa coming across as unfair and uncaring only for the narrative to prove he's right every time and have others treat him like he's japanese Einstein.
And with Endeavor starting off as a horrible person and the main conflict for Shoto to overcome... only for his family to welcome him back with open arms and say "We're all to blame for what happened!" just to lift some of it off of him and make him seem like he meant well.
The one common thing about these three is Hori having them express negative emotions and crying and the fandom eats it all up. Claiming that they've gone through development and that they really do care and are more than what we were led to believe. And then have them act the exact same way like nothing happened.
And that my friend... is narrative manipulation.
Hi @theloganator101 👋,
100%.
All of the writing in MHA is narrative manipulation but especially with those three.
Bakugou, Aizawa and Endeavour have narrative manipulation, their own in-universe simps, characters not reacting to them as they should and retcons to soften them and make them more palatable to the audience.
Bakugou and Endeavour are easy and extreme examples so I'll begin with Aizawa first.
With Aizawa, this has worked so well that you rarely see people critical of him and only those who have fully and critically looked at him in canon without #Dadzawa colouring their perception.
His students should dislike / hate or at the very least be wary of him. A teacher who sleeps all the time, pulls "logical ruses" lies and expels on a whim would realistically cause the mental health of his students to plummet. Yet all of 1A (including Izu who he seems to very much dislike) love him for some reason...
He's praised as logical, "harsh but effective" yet his fellow teachers should HATE him. Through the amount of students he's expelled I've heard some people theorising that he has expelled OTHER teachers students. Imagine how angry you would be as a teacher to find one of your students careers destroyed because a fellow teacher expelled them for a bullshit reason. Not only that but logically Aizawa's expulsions would have destroyed lives, destroyed careers before they fully lifted off the ground even made villians.
*There's also the fact that he's not shown to be a great friend in canon either, yet Aizawa is surrounded by Shirakumo, Yamada or Kayama who aren't offput from his behaviour. And even has a respect from All Might (despite the fact that Aizawa has been shown to dislike him.)
* - I'm not blaming Aizawa for being depressed or low key here. That's understandable. However friendship is about give and take. We don't see Aizawa being supportive back to his friends, we see them support him only. And when there's an opportunity to show Aizawa being supportive like to Mic after Midnight's death, Hori doesn't take it. Hori instead makes Aizawa shut Mic up. Additionally, when you like someone and are friends with them - you make the effort to show you like their company, you like being around them, you engage with them. Aizawa acts annoyed by his friends most of the time he's with them on screen, like he's grudgingly tolerating them at best.
Then there's Bakugou who is praised as the second coming of Christ, who lost nothing for suicide baiting a quirkless kid (our MC) and abusing him for ten years! Instead Izuku still calls him "Kacchan" 🤮, Bkg has made friends who are staunchly "anti bully" in Mina and Kirishima (who look stupid or hypocrites for being friends with this POS), Aizawa even praises and favours him for some reason despite Bkg's power being astonishingly one note and Bkg having so much of an awful attitude for heroics the villians thought he was a good recruit. 😬 Bakugou is the worst written character I have seen in a long time - a true Gary Stu.
And finally we have Endeavour, the child abusing POS himself who gets a tragic backstory that none of us wanted to see (his father dying as a kid), we have blame shifting on to Rei and Touya with their respective insanity (also now blame shifted on to Rei's incestous fam by some fans) and some even saying "Endeav had Touya's best interests at heart all along" which truly makes me scoff. If Endeav had Touya's best interests he would have taught Touya to cool himself off, he would have found another interest for them to bond over and sent him to therapy. Not ignoring his spiralling son until he died then got saved by All For One.
In addition, Rei's entire character being used as an "Endeav is not that bad" mouth piece makes me sick, Endeavour broke this woman, physically, emotionally and sexually (depending on your reading but she didn't look consenting to Natsuo and Shoto's births) abused her. So this choice with her character doesn't even make sense, she couldn't even see Shoto, she burnt her child because he looked like Endeav! Why doesn't she loathe this man like she should?! It is sick. It's even sicker of Hori to make her say "We are all responsible for what happened." Like that isn't the most delusional and victim blaming shit to say to your children who couldn't have done squat against their hero father.
Then there's Shoto and his story being overshadowed again by his abusive father, his friendship with Izuku being made about forgiving said abusive father. Shoto deserved so much better than this.
TLDR - the victims of the story should have been allowed to show the impact of their abuse / teaching malpractice that they have dealt with.
Aizawa should have resigned his teaching job (that he didn't even want in the first place) and got therapy as well trying his best to make it up to all those whose lives he ruined.
Bakugou should have been expelled for being an abusive asshole and being too dumb to hide it.
Endeavour should have had the Todofam HATE his guts and no one in his corner coddling him when he cries about Dabi then later Dabi should have finished him off instead of sprouting ice randomly.

Prompt by @ironicreality
I’ve been writing out entire chapters for the last two, so let’s go for an actual prompt this time.
Derision is a bad episode for multiple reasons. But the nastiest one are the fumbling retcons and how they effect the characters.
And Marinette is no exception. See, because while the writing team *really* wanted to give Marinette an excuse for all her stalking, they also made her into one of the worst friend’s imaginable.’
Yep; all those stories about Marinette getting betrayed by her ungrateful friends, and she’d canonically be like at least some of those salt-fic caricatures of the cast.
Because until Season Five, we had no idea about Socqueline. This kind girl who sacrificed and suffered for Marinette’s sake.
This downright heroic person who was supposed to be Marinette’s shield in school and who was expelled before she could graduate. This precious friend of Marinette’s- who she *never so much as mentions* for four and a half seasons.
Can you imagine standing up for a younger friend in school against a dangerous girl with the power of the state behind her? Then suffering an expulsion right before you were supposed to Graduate- which probably meant that you had to beg another school to accept you to do so and forget about getting into a good one with the Mayor fucking you over.
Then to add insult to injury: your younger friend just ghosts you for ten months while you’re pulling your life back together?
So here’s the prompt:
—
Marinette meets Socqueline for the first time in nearly a year. Socqueline isn’t happy to see her.
