i'm really normal about this series
i do not remember the child i was before
their memories out of reach, just beyond my fingertips
i want badly to connect with them again, to be who i was before
my feet on the shifting sand
i smell the salt in the air, gray waves like years washing away
i am sinking deeper, farther, closing my eyes and reaching for that child
they are standing alone on the horizon, facing away from me
i can't move, i can't breathe, my heart is weighing me down
and as i'm choking on sand, my eyes are barely visible, but pleading, begging for just a glance, a hint, a single smile
the child doesn't turn back
i'm swallowed by my grief
Things Percy Jackson remembers in Son of Neptune:
Annabeth exists
I met Annabeth at a camp
Annabeth and I kiss sometimes
Fuck Ares
some of y’all bout to be real mad at me. but it must be said. some of the shit u call corny/cringy is actually just genuine/cute/sweet and y’all r just afraid of expressing any type of positive emotion
1st, we were saying the (kinda) same things from the very beginning just on different wavelengths.
2nd, James died trying to protect Harry too, so what if he couldn't cast the Charm? He was taken by surprise since he trusted Wormtail with his life and he was his best friend, and ik, Lily might have gotten somewhat close to home too, but James had know him for (I think so, I'm not sure) his whole school life, he thought they were Ride or die. And, sadly for James, he had to Die. Because he was betrayed. So, it is understandable that he couldn't cast the Protection spell. Also, who are we kidding? He was no way as smart as out Lovely Lily. So it wouldn't be that much a surprise, yk. And, like, you say there was Severus because of Lily, but weren't there Remus and Sirius because of James? Doesn't that make James's significance just as much? And to think that Harry looked very VERY similar to James, he might have a different kind of feeling about him. So, I think James might have had a similar, if not bigger, presence in Harry's life.
People get mad that Harry named his son after Severus. However I’m leaning more towards the fact that Snape did the most thankless job even after being mistreated all of his life by the people he was saving and working with and the only thanks he gets- the only time anyone has decided to remember a single thing he did- it’s when Harry is naming his spawn.
Severus is not even the spawn’s first name, it’s his second name. Oh yeah and he threw in some half-baked dialogue about how Severus was brave. Wow truly what a fucking treat, what an homage.
And people are complaining that he didn’t name his kid after Hargid (or Lupin I don’t think which is pretty sad and also thankless). And I agree, but instead of switching out Severus’s name, take out James’s.
He named one of his kids James Sirius Potter (which is just so cringe) and like my question is why? Sirius is perfectly understandable but why James? James has done absolutely nothing-and I mean-NOTHING for Harry apart from get compared to him and has basically acted as a sperm donor to Harry. No- not a father, because being a father actually requires raising ur kid- no James’s only merit is that he had a wizard messiah in his ballsack. Brilliant.
No, but considering my nearing superhuman ability to not be able to tell if someone looks mad might come in handy😂😂
Percy at ease
Percy calm, but a little on edge
Percy when mildly angry
Friendly reminder that Percy jackson - our beloved silly adorable seaweed brain - is absolutely terrifying. When he’s angry, when he’s scared, when he’s on edge - he’s not warm and fuzzy.
No other character gets that reaction from people. Jason (the sweetie) is perceived as calm and in control, nico (our favorite self-outcasted outcast) is perceived as solemn and creepy, reyna (girlboss queen slay) is perceived as confident and assertive, and annabeth (our girl) is perceived as fierce, clever, and formidable. They are all intimidating to an extent.
But not like Percy. No. Becasue even when he’s at ease, he’s described as wild and disobedient. And when he’s not at ease, even if just little bit, he’s perceived as powerful, dangerous, and scary. Someone who NOBODY wants to mess with. Nobody even questions his power. One look from him has literal gangs running the other way. One look from him has Leo so scared that he’s literally shaking, and feeling the same innate fright and alarm that he does when jason summons an ear-piercing, earth-shaking, deadly bolt of lighting.
like… HELLO??? can we all just sit on that for a moment?? good lord
One angry look from percy has people thinking one thing: Run.
Percy is, canonically, the character that people find the most frightening and intimidating.
And unless he’s in a good mood - which you better hope he is - the reality is that most of us would be completely terrified of him if we met him.
How bad is it to be turned on by this?
Like scary movies?
alcohol is cool but have u ever been someone's sweet villain, darling god, dearest punishment and sweet nemesis? me neither, pass the bottle.
And then imagine him going "Oh, wait. Jesus wasn't a God. He was the son of God. WAIT SO ILL5BE JESUS'S UNCLE???"
Waiting for a scene in pjo s5 where zeus declares that as a reward for saving olympus, percy will be rewarded with the gift of immortality, receiving the greatest gift of all-being a god, and in the heat and tension of the moment, percy with blood on his face, torn clothes, trembling, stutters “a-a god? Like jesus?”
Wdym USUALLY??
each one of the seven secretly thinks "i'm the most useless person on this ship. everyone is doing smth cool fighting stuff and all and i'm just here. like an idiot"
exept for annabeth
she always thinks she's the most competent person in the room and it's usually true
