I havent seen anyone talk about this yet so im making a post.Â
So lets say youâre researching something for a paper (or just for fun) and the research paper you want to read is behind a paywall, or the site makes you create an account first, or makes you pay to download, or limits you to only 5 free articles, or otherwise makes it difficult for you to read what you want.
do not fear! copy the link to the article
go to sci-hub.se     (the url is always changing so its best to check out whereisscihub.now.sh to find what the current url is)
slap the article link in there
Henry looks Philip square in the face and says, âIâve been gay as a maypole since the day I came out of Mum, Philip.âÂ
If this single line doesnât convince you to read this book, then thereâs something wrongâŚ
Alex Claremont-Diaz
The First Son of the United States
has hated Henry ever since they were eighteenÂ
half Mexican
undergoing a sexual identity crisis
Henry George Edward James Fox-Mountchristen-Windsor
Prince of England
has been in love with Alex for a looong time
closeted gay
forced to pretend to be straight because of his familyÂ
An unfortunate mishap at a massively publicized royal wedding raises questions about the international relations between England and the US. So Alex and Henry and kinda forced to pretend to be friends to show the world that there isnât any tension between their countries.Â
(there was tension between them though. Sexual tension /// Iâll just leave now)
Plus points:Â
Trump doesnât exist in this book. Alexâs mom was elected President after Obama.Â
Badass side charactersÂ
Perfect writingÂ
Hilarious dialogues/emails/texts
POC representation
lgbtq+ representation (obviously)Â
Enemies-to-friends-to-lovers. I definitely recommend this book if youâre into Drarry or SnowBaz
Goodbye Iâm going to cry/fangirl over this book for the next 24 hours.Â
all right. so. this is a Harry Potter AU, in rambly and abbreviated form.
this is a version of events where, on the morning of November 1st, 1981, the police are called to a house in Surrey.
when they arrive, a large man with a red face and a moustache is waiting for them, brandishing a baby.
to be more accurate: he is brandishing a basket. the basket contains a baby.
he tells the police that his wife found the basket on their doorstep that morning. âGave her the shock of her life,â he says, with a chuckle that does not seem the least bit sincere.
the police officers have a lot of questions about this, but the man does not have any useful answers. his wife, he tells them, is not in any shape to be interviewed. âsheâs been poorly,â he says, âand weâve got a baby of our own to worry about, keeping us up at all hours.â
the baby in the basket seems to be about a year old. he is cheerful, seems healthy aside from a cut on his forehead, with a crooked sticking plaster on it. he has startlingly green eyes.
there is no identifying information in the basket, except for a torn scrap of paper with âhis name is Harryâ on it in a delicate hand.
there is nothing else to be done, it seems. the officers take baby Harry, and leave.
one of them comes back a few days later for a follow-up interview with the woman who found the baby. she seems a little fragile, and her own baby, in the next room, keeps up a constant shrieking tantrum the whole time the officer is there. âIâm sorry,â the woman says, with a brittle smile. âthis has all been a bit much. I recently lost my sister, you see.â
