So now we’re Calling D&D sexists misogynists because we’re not going to get the ending we wanted!!!

Cersei is playing men  like a fucking piano she’s using her fake pregnancy to get them to do what she wants( jamie prolly left brienne and went South to try to save her and their baby) euron would do anything for his future prince and tyrion dumbly believes that cersei can be trusted because of the supposed baby she’s expecting.

Sansa is the most powerfull person in the north she’s loved  respected by the northerners lords and they even  wanted her to be their queen because she’s absolutely  brilliant at what she does , she outsmarted littlefuckingfinger  killed ramsay the man who put her through hell( jon could have done it but he didn’t sansa did it herself like a Fucking G)

Arya stole the show in 8x03 she killed the Fucking night king who saw that one coming?! we all thought jon was going to kill TNK and we were Fucking wrong. She also had sex with gendry and then left him because being a lady isn’t for her she left him not the other way around.

Brienne won a fight against  the hound and she’s now a knight

Dany’s  been kicking men ass since seaon 2, jon gave up the north’ independence and now he’s giving up his birthright just to please her.

we also had margaery ollena catelyn…GOT writers are not  misogynists if anything they’re feminists the women are the ones who run shit in westeros .

I’m scared...but I’m ready for it to happen.

So they killed the Night King off in one episode with minimal deaths. That’s not what ANYONE expected.

Now we’re gearing up towards the “final battle” against Cersei. But Cersei isn’t nearly as scary as the Night King. And we have three episodes left. It’s improbable that Cersei fucking Lannister is worth more battle time than the Night King.

I just had the worst thought. Cersei isn’t going to get three episodes. She’s not the final battle.

The final battle is going to be Jon vs. Dany. The North is too loyal to Jon to kneel to Dany, and the Dothraki and Unsullied would never serve anyone other than their queen.

The final battle is going to be Jon Snow vs. Daenerys Targaryen and it’s going to have the biggest death toll we’ve ever seen.

Ideas for Season 2

What if next season the writers kept up the unreliable narrator device?

There could be an episode next season centering on the Massacre at Vassy - the start of the many wars of religion - where Louis de Bourbon (Prince of Conde) tells Ramira HIS side of the story. In his version he is the only one fighting for Protestants to have the same freedoms and rights as everyone else. This would make for a more rounded character and an interesting look at how Louis sees himself. With his narration he becomes a freedom fighter for the oppressed. Protestants can’t teach/study at Universities, hold certain jobs, worship in public in many cities/provinces. He sees himself as the Huguenots’ savior in many ways–their version of Martin Luther King Jr. He can even physically look thinner and more dignified instead of fulfilling the short/fat one dynamic he has with Antoine when Catherine is narrating.

Since other shows set in this time period do not have the unreliable narrator device, this show should use it to their advantage. This story is filled with people manipulating each other–why not manipulate the audience while you’re at it?

Plus it gives Ramira some internal conflict: who does she believe? Maybe Catherine could try to make her into one of her Flying Squadron (spy/seductresses) but Ramira doesn’t like this, so hearing Louis’s side of the story could help bring tension between her and Catherine, giving Ramira something to do next season since historically she never existed and could easily be overshadowed by the show’s historical figures and events.

March 1

In 1562, 23 Huguenots were killed in the Massacre of Vassy, which kicked off the French Wars of Religion.  Between two and four million people got to find out if their particular beliefs were correct before the dust settled 36 years later.  That represented between 12.5 to 25 percent of the entire population of France at the time.  To put that in perspective with the current population of the US, a similar war would result in between 40 and 80 million deaths.

So keep this sort of thing in mind when you hear about people wanting to establish national religions anywhere.  That shit never ends well.

Madeleine De Saint-Nectaire And Other Heroines Of The French Wars Of Religion

Madeleine de Saint-Nectaire and other heroines of the French wars of religion

Between 1562 and 1598, France was torn by civil and religious conflicts between the Catholics and the Protestants. During this period, women distinguished themselves as spies, propagandists, political leaders or negotiators. Some of them even fought weapons in hand.

Agrippa d’Aubigné tells in his Universal history of Marie de Brabançon, widow of Jean de Barres, lord of Neuvy. In October 1569, the lady found herself besieged in her home by the king’s lieutenant who had 2,000 men and two cannons. She personally defended the most dangerous breach with a pike in her hand. Shamed by her example, her soldiers fought bravely. Observers recounts that they saw her defending the breach several times with her weapon. She nonetheless had to surrender in mid-November, but was allowed to walk away freely by the king’s command. Another lady noted for her military acumen was Claude de la Tour, dame de Tournon who defended her city against the protestants in 1567 and 1570. They couldn’t, however, breach her defense and had to leave.

Ordinary women also found themselves on the frontline. The city of La Rochelle was besieged between 1572 and 1573 and the townswomen fought in the defense. Brantôme tells that the besiegers saw a hundred women dressed in white appearing on the walls. Some of them performed support functions while others wielded weapons. Their bravery was confirmed by another account who tells that the women acted as “soldiers or new amazons” and that their courage led a street in La Rochelle to be called the “Ladies’ Boulevard”. Agrippa d’Aubigné similarly shows the women fighting with sword and gun. Brantôme adds that he heard that one of these women kept at home the weapon with which she fought and that she didn’t want to give it to anyone.

Another valiant lady was Madeleine de Saint-Nectaire (c.1528/30-1588) who came from a prestigious military family. She married the lord of Miremont, gave birth to three daughters, but was widowed and had to defend her lands. Agrippa d’Aubigné tells that Madeleine led a troop of 60 cavaliers against her enemy Montal, lieutenant of the king. When she fought, Madeleine charged ahead of all others, with her hair unbound in order to be recognized by both friends and foes. In 1575, Montal lured Madeleine and her troops away from the castle and planned to seize the place. The lady returned, charged at the enemy and routed their cavalry. Montal was wounded in the ensuing fight and died a few days later.

Letters written by Madeleine have been preserved and reveal another aspect of her character. They show a modest, polite woman, who cared for her husband’s illegitimate children and treated them like her own.

Could write an essay like this on Bran? I still don’t understand why GRRM chose him of all people to be king at the end. His story has almost nothing to do with being a leader and ruling. Am I missing something? I feel like Daenerys’ storyline was always (in the show and the books) much better written and plotted than Bran’s, but maybe I’ve just been overlooking something all these years.

Floppy Ears

A Dance with Dragons is the most important arc Daenerys has had since she hatched her dragons at the end of A Game of Thrones, and is a huge turning point for the trajectory of her character. And while GRRM’s books have always been incredibly detailed and focused on character, this book and A Feast for Crows is when he really mastered that style. Those two things combined make Daenerys’ ten chapters incredibly dense, and full of very important details. If I were to write it all out in one post, it would be just ridiculously long (and considering the length of my other posts, that’s really saying something…). To try and keep these posts from turning into books, I’m going to split my analysis of Dany in A Dance with Dragons into three separate posts; one dealing with the political aspects of her arc, the next a look at the outside forces that influence Dany’s decision making, and the last will center on the personal struggle that defines her arc. Here is the first, where I breakdown the political merits of Queen Daenerys Targaryen…

Holding Court

Running parallel to all of the symbolic choices and struggles Daenerys makes in A Dance with Dragons is the practical decisions she makes as Queen of Meereen. GRRM is famous for his quote about “Aragorn’s tax policy”, and it is clear that he tries to answer that question in this book. We get chapter after chapter that gives Daenerys a new political trial, and get to see and examine how she decides to move passed it. The first three books gave us small moments to look at and decide how Daenerys would rule Westeros, but A Dance with Dragons gives us definitive examples of how she would. This book asks would Daenerys be a good queen? and also gives us the answer: No.
