Hello, this isn’t a normal post and I’m sorry I haven’t posted art.
But I’m going through a shit storm of life right now and I didn’t want it to come down too this but I’ve created a go fund me. I need to leave this place and never turn back. I’d appreciate donations/if you cannot donate even just sharing would do so much for me. I’m going to pin this too my profile, I honestly don’t know what else too say because I’m so overwhelmed with everything going in but please consider donating or sharing.
90% baby, 10% spite
Bonus:
If you put two arguably smart, tactical leaders in one room, they’re bound to fight over one brain cell and never use it.
(Trigger warning for abuse, electroshock therapy, torture, and ableism.)
The US court has overturned the ban on shock devices being used against disabled students, predominantly autistic students in the US.
The shock device being legalized is called the graduated electronic decelerator (or GED). This is a torture device that is used to ‘correct’ autistic behaviors / symptoms. Autistic people are shocked for stimming, and for having meltdowns, ect. This device was made popular by a behavioral center (the Judge Rosenberg Center, specifically) that is infamous for its abuse and torture of autistic / disabled patients.
(Image ID: someone is holding their arm out and resting it on a table, with their sleeve rolled up. Attached to their arm are wires, which connect to a small cube device.)
This is what the device looks like. It sends electric shocks into the victim’s skin; the victim often being restrained and held against their will. This is torture. GEDs have been reported to cause intense psychological trauma, PTSD, and physical injuries.
In March of 2020, the FDA ruled for GEDs to be banned. (Although, of course, they were still illegally used at a number of places.) This ruling has recently been appealed, and today, the US court of appeals has re-regulated the law to stop the use of GED. Sounds great, right? It would be!
... If not for a huge loophole in the wording, which basically allows this torture to continue. This device is going to have continued use on autistic students in order to “correct their behavior.”
Great question! You can:
Listen to and boost autistic voices to spread awareness
As-of now (July 7th), autistic activists are trying to get #StopTheShock trending on Twitter, so Tweet out the hashtag if you have Twitter
If you’re in the US, email / call your legislators
Sign this petition if you’re in the US
Follow this case and look out for updates
If Autism Speaks (known ableist hategroup) says anything about this, DO NOT BOOST IT
That’s all! Thank you. Reblogs are very appreciated!!
if anyone harasses the live action atla cast of CHILDREN. LITERAL CHILDREN. I don't know what to tell you, you're prioritising your idealised version of a cartoon over the right these children have to feel safe and accepted. it's shitty. just don't. I literally do not care if they're not how you pictured that particular character, don't call them ugly on their instagram or try to get them to see your hate comments. these are CHILDREN who signed up to do their best and chances are they're just as passionate as you are and twice as determined to get their roles right. you haven't even seen them in costume or on screen yet. just stop it and get some help.
Obviously it's TFP, he's the only right answer, he has TENTACLES

most people agree with the idea that everyone deserves a place to live but their support for this starts waning when you say everyone deserves a comfortable place to live. and by comfortable i mean an adequately sized home that’s safe. not somewhere that has a constant infestation or the water isn’t safe to drink or you have to bundle up under a million jackets and blankets bc you can’t afford heat during the winter or you sleep 5 to a room and 2 to a bed bc bigger places cost more than you can pay. all of this should NOT be a problem
people think “why should they get this for free when i work hard for it” like that’s the point !! you SHOULDN’T have to work hard for it. everyone deserves a comfortable and safe place to live period. regardless of who they are, what they do or don’t do, whether or not you like them, or if they have a job. bc the second you start saying “except for x people” it always comes back marginalized people and “x people” aren’t the ones suffering
21 now.... get me out of here 💥 Autistic--bear with me ^–^
