windows 10 is garbage so every time i boot up the computer i have to run command prompt and enter
net.exe stop “Windows Search”
so that the shitty goddamned search/cortana feature that i never fucking use stops running in the background taking up all my fucking disk space
I recently came across the ABCDE method that’s similar to what I do to stay productive each day: instead of lumping up all your tasks, sort them into categories and tackle each of them differently. Here’s an outline of the method. Hope it helps :)
Finally, after two weeks I can write about my academic struggles! How are you, folks? How are you all holding up?
Last September 10, UP decided to resume classes even after the students’ and the faculty’s numerous calls to postpone it. Some students, even teachers, got confused with their class schedule and were met with various technical difficulties like power shortages and poor internet connection. It was chaotic and pretty exhausting.
Luckily, some teachers were kind enough to let students adjust to the new mode of teaching first before getting right into the discussions. They explained to us how they were only given 14 weeks to teach the whole material for this semester. This made me realize how hard they simplified the lessons to make it easier and clearer to understand and so their generosity weighed heavier than before.
I also started to get the hang of using Notion, and as someone who was intimidated by it before I can say Notion is a very useful app. I think I’ll write about my template on future posts. I hope I could explain it better, then.
I know I said before that I will try to revive this studyblr, but I realized that I’m doing a pretty shit job at it. If you guys want to be friends or simply just to have someone like and reblog your posts, hit me up! I’ll try to interact better. >____<
Back to (Online) College
Since my classes begin tomorrow and it is mostly online I thought I'd share some simple study/self care tips that I will be sticking to.
Decide where you will work - even if it is at your kitchen table, having a designated work spot is so important for online classes and study. I understand that for some people this can be difficult, so you could break up your day instead of sitting down for a few hours straight.
Get enough sleep - Summer is over, it's time to settle back into a semi-normal sleeping pattern. Being tired can be a terribly difficult roadblock for concentration.
Get up early - by this I don't mean "get up at 6am every day". I mean don't stay in bed until five minutes before your class starts. Get up maybe an hour or so beforehand, which leads me to my next point-
Eat breakfast! - it will help you concentrate on your study. Plus, now you're at home you can snack throughout the day as well!
Hydrate! - It is SO important to drink water regularly. Try to keep a tall glass or a bottle nearby when you're working.
Wash and Dress - if you don't have the time or energy to shower, you can brush your teeth and wash your face. Trust me, it will makes a world of difference. It also might be tempting to throw a sweater on over your pyjamas for lectures, but you will feel a lot more alert and ready to work if you change out of the clothes you slept in. A change of underwear and even clean joggers and a shirt can freshen you up a lot.
Take your breaks! - even a 15 minute break for you to stretch your legs and grab some air will help so much!
Stay in touch with your friends and classmates - working alone can feel very daunting, so it might be a good idea to reach out to friends and organise a study session on a group call or video chat. You needn't be lonely just because you're alone.
Keep any medication you take close to where you work - I started doing this not long ago. It can be frustrating to have to break the flow of work to get up and take it, so it may be tempting to leave it until later. If you have it within arms reach you can take it without disruption. It also might help to set an alarm if it is time sensitive.
That's it! This is a pretty basic self care list for studying online but sometimes it's best to keep it simple. Good luck my loves and mind yourselves!
Sometimes you need to get real with yourself. Don’t pretend those tabs of youtube videos and fanfiction take precedence over that maths homework you need to get done. Don’t tell yourself you’ll get up early and do it, because chances are, your alarms will go off and you’ll snooze it automatically. Then right before the dreaded fourth period you will be stressed to no end and you’ll feel the feeling. You know, the feeling. When you can genuinely feel the list of tasks and responsibilities build up on your shoulders. That stationery will do nothing to save your grades if you don’t actually use it to make your revision materials. Don’t click onto youtube as a study break and find that 3 hours and only 4 pages of reading later, the glare of the screen gets a little blurry when you look at the time and look at your to do list with your priorities highlighted. I don’t care how much self control you think you have, or how much discipline you think you’ve honed, because when you make the decision to put of work that needs to get done and you’re relying on this new found immense self discipline that future you will just suddenly obtain, you know you’ve already lost. And it’s a double loss because not only have you lost to laziness and short term ‘happiness’, future you has lost to stress and possibly even not getting the grades or the qualifications you could’ve gotten that would’ve led you to take the path you’ve wanted to take. So please, for the love of your future self, get it done now.

I'm currently going through my archive and I just realized how I've never actually did an intro post? (Maybe I did but I can't see it so it doesn't exist anymore <3)
Anyways, hello! I'm Sunny, a college student from the ph! Quick facts:
I was born in 2001
I'm a Libra sun and my MBTI is INFP/INTP
I'm into various interests (films, reading, K-pop, recently fs and whatever my mind decides interesting)
I'm a heavy procrastinator ._.
I've been in the studyblr community since 2017 but I didn't really post a lot of stuff because I felt like it was "too productive" for me. I kept on seeing posts with pretty journals, tons of pens, aesthetic desk set-ups, and I kept telling myself that I should be at that level as well. If I don't have nice pens, nice desk set-ups, and nice journals then I'm not a studyblr.
These past years in the pandemic literally shattered who I am as a student, and I just felt so lost. I've been in a tough place and I really cannot care less about my academics. I flunked a lot of classes, argued a lot with my mom, and was just all around negative towards my studies. I'm not proud of it, but I know that I did what I could've.
I'm trying to be better now, though! Hence, why I'm here! I realized that I don't really have to be a certain 'way' to use a studyblr. I should be fine-tuning this platform for me, use it as what I need it and not the other way around. Sure, studyblrs can become an inspiration, but I now know that I don't have to be the same as them.
I'm still trying to rebuild myself as a student, hopefully this time with a stronger foundation! Please, feel free to hit me up! :D I'd love to have friends who can motivate me and I can motivate as well T__T I'm also in studytwt!
study/blrs that I've followed through out the years: emmastudies / tbhstudying / noodledesk / eintsein / studynostalgic and many more!!
