If you go to the campaign linked in line 395, you find an old gofundme page of Alaa’s, with an update from a few days ago saying that the campaign would have to be refunded due to difficulties with finding a benefactor based in Australia. The update links to a new campaign created for Alaa, which is the same fundraiser that Alaa has been sharing here on tumblr. But the combination of difficulty finding Alaa on the spreadsheet to confirm that she’s been verified, along with the fact that even if you do find her, you’re led to the wrong gofundme, has made it very difficult for Alaa to raise any funds. She has so far only raised $120/$20k CAD.

family. Perhaps your brother, sister, or friend, imagining that my family, which is now under threat of death, is your family. My name is Mahdi. We used to live a peaceful life in our home, which was destroyed by the bombing in this war, destroying our present, memories of our past, and shattering our future. My house, built piece by piece, contained every drop of sweat I shed while working to provide my children with a decent and peaceful life. In an instant, a missile struck and destroyed it, but praise be to God in all circumstances.
After this destruction, I couldn't find a livelihood inside Gaza, nor could we find suitable work, education, or healthcare for human life. Because I care about my children and grandchildren, I want them to live a peaceful life, safely, and in the best condition possible.
So, I decided to create this link to ask for help to leave Gaza for Egypt. The cost is very high, and I cannot afford it. Then, move from Egypt to a foreign country. My name is Inaam Mezher, and I work as an Arabic language teacher at the American International School in central Gaza. I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt plea to help save my children Naya and Yamen. They are innocent children living amidst the ongoing conflict in Gaza, and their lives are in great danger.
I live in central Gaza, while my family, including my mother, brothers, sisters, and my disabled sister, resides in the north of Gaza. We face immense challenges every day. The constant threat of violence and lack of medical supplies make their situation extremely difficult. We are doing our utmost to protect them, but we need your help.
