Handala (حنظلة) is a symbol of Palestinian resistance. He was created in 1969 by political cartoonist Naji al-Ali, critical of Israel as well as Arab regimes.
Handala is 10 years old, the age Naji was when he was forced to leave his home during the 1948 Nakba, and is always seen from his turned back. Today, Handala is still 10 years old. On the day Handala is able to return home, he will then grow up and be seen from the front.
Naji died on August 29, 1987, victim of an assassination. Naji lives on through Handala.

oh god i’d heard about the “i won’t commission artists who undercharge for their art” post and now it’s making its rounds on my dash.
please understand that this concept does not actually help anyone. the sensible thing to do if an artist is undercharging is to tip them for what you think their work it worth, and be sure to let them know that. even if this doesn’t cause them to actually change their base prices, at least YOU’RE paying for what it’s worth, and THEY’RE getting business instead of nothing.
by essentially boycotting artists who are already unsure of the value of their own work (and are thus underpricing) you’re not sending any positive message. no one is going to up their commission prices when nobody is buying them. the only thing the artist gets out of it is that people don’t want to buy their art for some reason, and people who’s products aren’t selling aren’t going to say “oh i guess it was because i wasn’t charging enough, i’ll pump up the prices!”
if you want to support a commission artist, please do it by actually SUPPORTING THEM WITH COMMISSIONS rather than by choosing to take your business elsewhere because their prices were too low.
There's a specific pain to hating only 25% of a drawing.
Not enough to scrap it

Some of the Careers I've come up with for the 71st Hunger Games. I'm not technically writing a OC games type story (Its about Annie as a mentor) but they're in there.
While standing in line trying to get some food in the southern Gaza Strip, he yelled at the journalist Fakri Ibrahim, saying: 'Send this picture to Israel and the world.'
Chapter 5 of Little Fawn is out now!
as katniss and peeta enter the capitol for the first time, katniss is shocked at how peeta is able to hold his ground by smiling and waving to the capitol citizens (thg, 59). and she immediately concludes that this is because peeta is already fighting hard to survive (thg, 60). and fighting hard to kill her (thg, 60).
just like everyone else in his situation would.
but literally every other word he says to katniss in this book is about how he doesn't actually think he is going to survive this. like when they are talking about their skills (thg, 90). or when he is explaining how he wants to die as himself and not stoop to the capitol's level (thg, 141). or when he is trying to tell katniss what he wants her to know before he dies in the cave (thg, 261).
by the end of the first games, i am sure that peeta had started to think of himself as a survivor. a victor. after all, he was about to survive a brutal death arena with his lover.
but then the rule changed. and only one of them could survive. and any drive of his to survive did not stop him from immediately realizing that katniss needs to be the one to live. because he needs her to live.
and so, throwing all survival instincts to the wind, he threw his knife into the river and released the bandage from his wound (thg, 342). he was planning on dying for her. he just didn't realize that his songbird was thinking the same.
and this continues in the second game when both katniss and peeta hyperfocus on how they can ensure their lover's survival. knowing that it would cost their own life.
they both don't really consider themselves survivors. or, if they do, they recognize how they will need to just forget all of their natural instincts to survive. because there is something more important.
and it is almost like they both decided to be survivors in the quell because they need to survive just long enough to help give the other person a better chance of surviving. because what is the point of surviving if your happiness dies alongside your lover.
Since I officially have the first 20 chapters and a whole outline (more or less) written I figured I should probably let you all know about the comic I'm writing!
It's called Little Fawn It's a retelling of Snow White about the huntsman promising protect Snow from the Queen's wrath after almost killing her himself If you're a fan of stories about a tired/grumpy man accidentally adopting a goofy kid, this might be your vibe
The Main Characters:
Emil (AKA The Huntsman) When he’s summoned by the Queen and asked to kill her step daughter, Princess Snow, everything in Emil is screaming no, but he finds himself accepting the task against his own mind and heart. Emil is quiet and apprehensive of most people. He’s honest to a fault and always keeps to his word. He struggles endlessly with his guilt over almost killing Snow
Snow White: Snow is Crown Princess and beloved by all who know her. All except her step mother, Queen Ennlin, who hates how "her" subjects love Snow more than her and orders a huntsman to take care of it once and for all. Snow, like the Grimms Brother version, is only seven years old. She's is a very curious kid and has a special interest in animals. Especially spiders, frogs, rats, and birds (much to many's chagrin). She also has a knack for sneaking around and hiding (also to many's chagrin).
