Chapter 5 of my Sonadow fic is out! Holiday Party!

I swear I am not one of those “November 1st starts the holidays” kind of person, this just happened to line up in the timeline 😭

Chapter Summary:

Shadow and Sonic have officially been together for six months, and Sonic plans a fun race in honor of that. Afterward, he takes Shadow to a special place, and takes their relationship a step further.

Anointing

Something to hold you guys over until the next pages. Anoint is fun to say.

OP, what?? Let me explain:

This was partly inspired by another comic, got me thinking of how anointing worked. People kinda do this too, stealing your partners jacket for example.

Anointing is when hedgehogs find a smell they like (in some cases a poison) and proceed to lick it and create a saliva foam before covering their spines in the smell/spit.

Scientists don't really understand it but it may have a role in removing parasites, mating behavior or something to do with predators. Free lore.

Mobian 'hogs do it too, but a little less messy...

A special oil in their quills is released as they rub their spines together and even non-hedgehogs mobians can smell it when up close. It's a way to broadcast their partnership, with some considering it a huge leap in a relationship. Many just kinda do it without thinking, as they cuddle.

What do they smell like? Im not joking:

If sonic smells like citrus and leather (official perfume) and shadow smells like lavender (coffee from oils in the espresso beans he eats), do you think they would smell like Lady Gray tea with a hint of smoke or a dark musk underneath.

Chapter 12 of A Work In Progress is out!

Summary: Shadow and Sonic receive news about a wedding they’re invited to and Shadow ends up teaching Sonic to dance properly.

This one is short and sweet but it alludes to a future chapter :)

Rest In Peace Kirby Morrow 8/28/1973 - 11/18/20

It’s hard for me to grieve when notable people pass away because I don’t know them personally, but Kirby’s death hit me really hard and very suddenly.

When I first made my human designs for the Ninjago characters, I made a point to incorporate their voice actors into the designs, and even though my designs for them have changed quite a bit, there are still bits of Kirby that remain in the way that I draw Cole.

My deepest condolences go to those closest to him, and may he live on in the joy he brought to so many people.
