I know the popular take is Batman's rogues getting their butts handed to them by Bruce Wayne, and I'm not belittling that, because that's really funny for all stated reasons?

But how about a new take: most of Batman's rogues call him off limits, because they find out he is their benefactor, when/if they try to reform?

Mr Freeze won't touch him because when he's in Arkham, Bruce is the one who finances the research to help Nora Fries.

Poison Ivy won't touch him because he had been the one supplying her with plants, while in prison.

Harley won't touch him because he's just a great guy an' gotham needs guys like that.

Riddler won't touch him because he was the secret backer that time Eddie tried to open a detective agency.

Croc won't touch him because he's one of the few people who ever talks to him like a person.

Deadshot refuses any hits on him because he found out Wayne does a lot of secret work for people down on their luck who made bad mistakes.

So At About 1 In The Morning The President Of The United State Started Fantasizing Out Loud About Putting

so at about 1 in the morning the President of the United State started fantasizing out loud about putting an American city under marshal law and begin the mass extrajudicial killing of random black people.

Thats what we’re talking about, using the US Military to kill American citizens for the grave crime of being black in public.

I don’t know what else there is to say, please for the love of fuck vote in November, because people aren’t gonna live through 4 more years.

shut up about the economy. shut the fuck up about the economy, what’s the economy ever done for me, i can’t get a job with a living wage and it costs a week's wages to get a single train ticket to see my parents and most things in my budget are that cheap cuz they’re made with slave labour and i can still get fired for being trans if i’m ever hired at all and quite frankly the illusion of choice isn’t worth the suffering of others or the death of the planet, shut up about the fucking economy i do not worship the squiggly lines i have basic fucking empathy i want to exist without harming others. i want to exist without harming others!!! i want no one to ever be hurt again!!!!!

it’s the year 2080. the expressions “the horse has left the hospital” and “between a crematorium and a dildo store” have fully entered the lexicon even though barely anyone remembers where they originated. one day the kids who live in the Amazon Temperate Habitat Bubble next door ask me what was between the proverbial crematorium and dildo store in the first place. i rip off my Amazoxygen® Ventilator and gasp, “the fucking horse” and immediately die from the polluted air in my probably-covid-ravaged lungs. haunted by these cryptic last words, the kids bury themselves in the ancient runes of the Internet Archive until they find the meme that unlocks it all. the horse was one of the last presidents of the late american empire, a lynchpin in the slow disintegration of the union. suddenly, a drone flies directly through the window. “forbidden word detected: ‘union’,” it says, gearing up its Amazon Brainbuster Electric Reinforcement System. they run

The Perfect Explanation of Privilege – In One Powerful Punchline

“The Pencilsword” is a comic strip by Toby Morris, an illustrator from New Zealand. His most recent comic, “On a Plate” hits hard at the heart of the issues of concerning wealth and privilege.

How many times have you heard the “I’ve never been handed anything on a platter” argument in regard to social security and other social benefits?

Toby wrecks this argument by showing how two children can grow up, be loved and supported, and yet still have two very different outcomes.

Make sure to follow all the way to the end for the powerful punchline. This comic is an increasingly sad reality for far too many of this nation’s children and families.

hey. the celebrities and corporations are going to try tumblr. you may want to drive them off the site, or find them amusing, ie “well THIS one can stay.” they may try to engage with the culture. they may do their research. DO NOT ENGAGE. do not bother. don’t fucking acknowledge them. don’t mess with their heads. don’t reply to them as a bit. let them think this site is a lost cause. let them fizzle out and die

a skeleton on a blue background, running. it says in white text: "just ignore them! don't follow them, don't reblog them, don't John Green their ass! no kung pow penis! da share zone. IF THEY TRY AND MARKET TO YA... HIT THE BRICKS! no celebrity zone"

Been Seeing Some Fantastic Taako Posts (by @terezis X And @ink-shaming X, You Started This) With Worms

Been seeing some fantastic Taako posts (by @terezis x and @ink-shaming x, you started this) with worms and I wanted in. This started out as “lmao, Taako with a feather boa, but it’s really just a giant worm on a string.” And then slowly devolved into “what if the umbra focus was the worm?”

[ID: First image from left to right—Full body drawing of Taako, a male elf with tan skin, freckles, and curly blonde hair. He wears loose wizard garbs of various shades of blue. He holds a teal colored umbra staff in his hand. Around his neck is a bright, magenta, fuzzy worm. On the top right is Taako, wearing a striped shirt and wizard hat. He wears the worm boa wrapped around one arm and over the shoulder. On the bottom right, Taako looks over his shoulder and smiles confidently. He wears a blouse, a wizard hat curled at the end, and a worm boa around his neck.

Second image from left to right—Two panels of Taako standing in front of a crouched, robbed figure. The figure has a large, fuzzy, magenta worm around its shoulders. Taako grins and says, “Holy shit look at this stupid thing.” He picks the worm up and examines it, while saying, “I love this dumb worm!” The next two panels have Taako wearing the worm around his neck. In the first, the worm is wrapped around him, halfway covering his face, and what is visible is not happy. In the second panel, he is in a seated position, face buried in its fluff. He says, “You’re the only motherfucker who understands me.” At the bottom of the image is the close up of the worm, looking a little weepy. End ID]

These are the solutions we need to policing right now. Remember: the problem cannot be solved by technocratic solutions (i.e. body cams, further trainings, etc.) The problem is policing itself.
