You weren’t arguing-well type. You usually cry during it or just gave up anything just to let it go. But now… Your bad mood gave you enough confidence to do this.

What is the most disrespectful, anger inducing thing the Maiden could say/ do to Alcina?

Very fun question to answer!

In general, Miranda and the Dimitrescu’s role in the cult’s hierarchy are a sore topic. She’s this presence that lingers over their lives - their vampire sire of sorts - so they are constantly having to force down this jealousy while still craving her approval (both individually and as a family). If the Maiden were ever to say that Miranda is better than Alcina in any aspect that would leave her both fuming and heartbroken, as it plays directly with her insecurities. It would quickly turn into an obsession to prove herself as above Miranda. Luckily this would never happen.

They do argue over pettier things, of course. I see Alcina as someone who is constantly working on her composure and who asserts her authority as head of the household in often harsh ways. She expects her family to perform up to the same standards as she holds herself to, which does get in the Maiden’s nerves sometimes. If the Maiden is feeling particularly neglected or patronized she may complain that “you don’t have to try to outperform men with every breath you take, you know?”, which leaves Alcina offended to be even placed in the same category.

Alcina also expects them to be fully devoted to each other, in all senses of the word, so whenever the Maiden keeps things to herself Alcina can get very frustrated. Outdated as this may be, she sees herself as the keeper between them. She needs to be the one protecting and caring for her wife, so if the Maiden takes some matters into her own hands Alcina can feel robbed of part of her usefulness.

On a lighter note, the Maiden can be an absolute tease and it drives Alcina up the wall. She’ll show up while Alcina is busy to distract her, rile her up to the point Alcina will ignore any phone calls, then be like “it was a good chat, see you later” and straight up leave. Thankfully this anger is easily managed by Alcina getting up and dragging the Maiden back with her.
