Mina was devilishly tapping her fingers together as she stared at Midoriya. âSorry, but you lost the bet.â
âI didnât even agree to the bet,â argued Midoriya nervously, not recalling Mina even stating it was a bet.
âNonsense,â hushed Mina, rising from where she was sitting to grab her phone that was currently charging.
Midoriya groaned from where he was sitting. The sound caught the attention of Uraraka who was returning to the common room from filling up her water bottle. âDeku? Whatâs wrong?â
Midoriya looked up at Uraraka in despair. âItâs Mina.â
âWhat is she up to this time,â remarked Uraraka with an amused grin.
âSheâs forcing me to do something because I lost a bet I never agreed to,â explained Midoriya weakly, sinking into the couch in despair. When it came to Mina, nothing could be done once she had an idea.
Uraraka nodded, sitting down next to Midoriya. âIâm sure it wonât be that bad. Besides, itâs not like she can force you to do anything outside the dorms.â
Relaxing a bit at the reminder it was storming outside, Midoriya took a sip out of his water bottle. âYouâre right. It canât be that bad right? Sheâll probably force me to play a little prank on someone or something.â
âProbably, either that or sheâll make you do her homework,â laughed Uraraka, recalling how Mina once tried getting Momo to do her work but was forced to have a tutoring session instead.
Mina rushed back in with her phone and a bright smile. âI want you to recreate this!â
Midoriya raised a brow, letting Mina squish onto the couch with him and Uraraka. Mina had a video pulled up and it was some guy standing in heavy rain strutting, doing air splits, and backflips over music.
Uraraka couldnât hold back her laugh. Mina immediately proved the both of them wrong when they assumed the dare would be her usual silly antics.
âI canât do that! Iâm going to fall! Besides, if anyone sees me out there-!â argued Midoriya in a panic, trying to do whatever it took to get out of this.
Mina shook her head and pressed a finger against Midoriyaâs lips to silence him. âNope. Look, Iâll be nice, and I wonât force you to wear the big fluffy coat and ripped jeans.â
Midoriya sighed in defeat, not seeing much harm in the dare when no lightning was outside. The only risk was him getting sick and he decided to set down some conditions of his own.
âHave a towel and warm tea prepared for me. If I end up getting sick you owe me katsudon until Iâm recovered,â ordered Midoriya, willing to do the dare, but wanting to have some say in what happened.
Mina extended her deal with a wide smile. âDeal! Uraraka, would you be an angel and grab that stuff? Iâm going to go out to record this!â
Midoriya wilted, forgetting that Mina loved having everything on her phone. He couldnât blame her though, some of these simple funny moments were nice to look back on when things got rough. Uraraka smirked and threw herself up. âFine, but Iâm going to need that video for myself.â
Kirishima was curious about what was going on and approached Uraraka. âHey, where are Mina and Midoriya heading off to?â
Uraraka crossed her arms with a grin. âMina is forcing Midoriya to recreate some video out in the storm.â
âNo way! I gotta see this!â laughed Kirishima, immediately pulling out his phone and texting one of his multiple group chats. He sent the quick message âCome down to the common room immediately, it's important,â to Kaminari, Sero, Bakugo, and Jiro.
Kaminari and Sero came down along with Sato, Ojiro, and Tokoyami. Jiro came down with Momo and Hagakure, and Bakugo came down alone. It seemed that Bakugo thought it was something serious because he practically exploded when he saw the rest of the class wasnât there.
âWhat the hell Shitty Hair?â shouted Bakugo, immediately sending off some small explosions.
âWoah man, calm down! Everyone, follow me to the window!â instructed Kirishima, not trying to set Bakugo off even more.
It only took seconds for the group to understand why Kirishima told them to come down urgently. Mina and Midoriya were standing in the open field as rain was crashing down. Mina had her phone held up while Midoriya was doing mind-boggling flips toward her.
While Midoriya could do a perfect split, he had trained kicking enough that he could fake it. If he did an air split fast enough, no one would be able to tell his left leg didnât perfectly come up all the way. When Midoriya reached Mina he managed to land his last flip without falling and went straight into a backflip.
Once Midoriya stuck the landing of his back flip he took in a quick breath, jumped into the air and shot his legs out, faking the split like a pro.
Mina collapsed to the ground, cackling. Midoriya crossed his arms and looked up at the sky that was dark and pouring down rain. Midoriya then looked down at Mina, said something, and suddenly Mina was sprinting back toward the dorm building.
Uraraka was already standing by the door with towels and warm tea waiting for them in the kitchen. Mina launched herself inside, the rain covering her face and mixing with her tears. âMy phone!â
âYeah, thatâs my bad,â chuckled Midoriya, knowing that they had to retake the dance at least ten times before he got it right.
Walking further into the dorm, planning on going to the kitchen, the two froze when they saw the large group standing near the windows. Only the group was staring at them in disbelief and glee.
Midoriya bolted off before anyone could even ask him where he learned how to do any of that. Mina on the other hand didnât stick around because she had to make sure her phone was okay. She couldnât lose the video after just getting it!
Midoriya was fresh out of the shower when he texted Uraraka that he was sorry for not sticking around for the tea she made him. It seemed that Uraraka didnât mind too much, even going as far as to say sheâd reheat it and send someone up to deliver it to him.
Feeling bad and not wanting her to go out of her way to do something she didnât have to, Midoriya frantically typed it wasnât necessary and it was no big deal. A knock interrupted Midoriyaâs guilt as he stared at the typing bubble from Uraraka. Rising from where he was sitting, Midoriya approached his door and pulled it open.
Bakugo stood in the doorway with a wide smirk. âSo Izuku. Care to explain?â
Midoriya yelped, backing into his room. âKacchan! What are you doing here?â
âPink Cheeks. Now, tell me why you were out there performing like a goddamn acrobat,â demanded Bakugo, inviting himself in with two cups of tea.
âItâs really not as interesting as you may think. Mina told me I lost a bet and she dared me to recreate a video,â elaborate Midoriya swiftly, not wanting to beat around the bush when it came to Bakugo.
âGo figure. Why do you always manage to get wrapped up in her dumb schemes,â grumbled Bakugo, crashing onto Midoriya's bed.
Midoriya smiled a bit, looking at his desk where Bakugo managed to put down the tea without him noticing. âIf I knew how, I wouldn't have been out there.â
Bakugo scoffed, staring at Midoriya where he was standing. âWhere the hell did you learn how to do a split?â
âI canât really do a split, but after using my legs so much I guess I got more flexible,â assumed Midoriya. He didnât know how he managed to get so limber. He did his usual stretches to avoid injuries but didnât go out of his way to work on flexibility.
âIt sure as hell looked like a split to me,â argued Bakugo. It didnât take a genius to see a true split.
Midoriya smiled, sitting next to Bakugo on the bed. âWhen the rain clears up we can head to the gym and see for sure.â
âAlright, just donât cry when you find out Iâm right,â professed Bakugo confidently, making a home on Midoriyaâs bed.
âYouâre an idiot,â laughed Midoriya, finally lying down next to Bakugo.
âShut up!â

Midoriya was thrilled to take Katsuma under his wing once he passed the UA entrance exam. UA High offered housing for those who didnât have a place to stay, but anyone living at home could commute if they desired. Katsuma had no problem staying at the dorms, but his father had his reservations.
Katsuma's father recalled the young hero who saved his son. Reaching out to Midoriya, the father asked if Midoriya would be okay with hosting Katsuma while he attended UA High. Midoriya already had Kota staying in his place since he lived right next to UA and had no problem having another kid stay.
His apartment had felt very empty alone, so he appreciated the company.
Katsuma and Kota got along much to Midoriyaâs joy. Kota saw a lot of Midoriya in Katsuma and took it upon himself to protect Katsuma no matter the costs. Katsuma was introduced to Eri through Kota and boom, a friend group was formed.
It wasnât until a couple of months before their first year ended that Kota approached Midoriya to explain his worries about Katsumaâs girlfriend. The girl was from the business department.
According to Kota, the chick was trying to keep Katsuma away from him and Eri. That information wouldnât be as concerning if it werenât for the fact the girl would get angry if Katsuma talked to them.
Midoriya wasn't inexperienced in the dating world. Midoriya knew what kinds of people to stay away from romantically. He had been in many failed relationships, but most of the time it was because he knew his worth and what he wanted out of life.
Midoriya knew that the red light was blinking and the warning sirens were blaring. Kota's explanation was enough to concern Midoriya. Midoriya would kill for his children. There was no way he was going to let some grubby future Hero Commission worker hurt his baby.
Kota knew just how far Midoriya would go for those he cared about and was more than happy to throw the emotionally and verbally abusive girlfriend under the bus.
Unfortunately, Midoriya didnât have to initiate the conversation because the following day Katsuma came home crying. Midoriya told Kota to give them a moment, not wanting to risk Katsuma hiding information because Kota was with them.
Kota and Katsuma got along, but sometimes embarrassing things happen in a relationship. Midoriya wasn't naive. After all, he went to UA High and his classmates were less than innocent when their third year at the school rolled around.
âKatsuma? What happened?â cooed Midoriya, letting the young teen rush into his arms.
âItâs Okamura," wept Katsuki, hiding his face in Midoriya's baggy shirt.
Midoriya tried to not sound aware of what was going on to get a full explanation. âOkamura? Your girlfriend? What did she do?â
âI was just talking to Shoji-sensei with Kota and Eri about your upcoming patrol. Okamura must have been watching and started screaming in my face about how I was hiding stuff from her and that I was a horrible boyfriend,â cried Katsuma, clearly distressed that he was screamed at for no reason.
Midoriya did everything in his power to not walk out of the home, tell the kidâs parents everything, and then tell Nezu to expel her. No one made his son cry, especially for no reason.
Midoriya let out a soft sigh before pulling back and cupping Katsumaâs wet face and using his thumbs to wipe away tears. âHas she done stuff like this before?â
âYes, all the time. She wonât let me have any friends. Sheâs constantly trying to make me sneak out and spend the night,â revealed Katsuma, making it clear that Okamura isnât respecting his boundaries or what he cares about.
Midoriya was becoming more worried than anything else. It was clear what Okamura was trying to pressure Katsuma into doing. Midoriya understood Katsuma was getting older and it wouldnât be shocking if he was curious about sex. But, if Katsuma wasnât interested in doing it and Okamura was trying to get Katsuma to do dangerous things even if he wasnât interested, that was a serious problem.
âIf she gets this angry at the little things, she will only get worse as time passes. This girl doesnât respect the people you care about. She doesnât value your space or privacy. She doesnât care about your comfort. Iâll support whatever decision you make, but donât expect me to allow her to step foot in this house because if I see her, sheâll be too scared to even look your way once Iâm done talking to her,â said Midoriya in a scarily calm voice.
Katsuka weakly smiled, simply sinking into Midoriyaâs touch and hiding his face into Midoriya's puffy sweater. âIâm scared to end things with her.â
âDonât be. Sheâd be stupid to try messing with you. Having you under my wing, every hero in the school would be willing to die for you. Okamura would be expelled immediately as well. She's not fit to be a hero if she lashed out at you," reassured Midoriya, brushing Katsuma's bangs around to fluff them.
"You're right. I'll ask Eri and Kota to be nearby when I do it!" chirped Katsuma, feeling a lot better about getting himself out of a bad relationship.
Three days have passed since Katsuma ended his relationship with Okamura. The breakup was far from easy and peaceful. Eri had to step in when it sounded like Okamura was preparing to strike Katsuma. Kota had been waiting for the moment Okamura tried anything so he had permission to physically intervene.
After the breakup, Okamura wasn't backing down. It was clear she wasn't when Kota and Eri couldn't find Katsuma one day. When they were looking around, they soon realized they couldn't find Okamura either. Kota and Eri's calls went to voicemail when they attempted to call Katsuma.
Panicking, the duo ran to the teacher's lounge to help them find Katsuma. Nezu caught the drift of what was happening and quickly checked the cameras only to find Okamura forcefully dragging Katsuma to a vacant classroom.
Kota tried to beat the heroes to Okamura, but they got to the empty classroom first. Katsuma was unconscious and Okamura was caught red-handed restraining a beaten-up Katsuma to a chair. Heroes were sent to capture and restrain the teen.
None of the adults knew what to do. When it came to Midoriya, no one messed with his kids. When it came to children in general, Midoriya would happily destroy anyone who even tried to put a child in harm's way.
The adults were evenly split about telling Midoriya. Half wanted to fix the problem in privacy knowing Midoriya would raise hell. The other half wanted to immediately tell him so hell wasnât raised upon them, there was no stopping Midoriya and he would find out any moment now.
While the adults were deciding what to do, Kota urgently called Midoriya.
"Izuku! Izuku!" shouted Kota, not waiting for Midoriya to greet him.
Deku, who was currently in the middle of capturing a villain alongside his hero partner Dynamight, froze at Kota's frantic tone. "Kota? What happened? What's going on?"
"It's Katsuma! Okamura-," started Kota, only to be cut off.
"I'm on my way," announced Midoriya in an eerily calm tone.
All Kota could do was smile as Midoriya ended the call abruptly. His dad was pissed and Okamura was going to wish she never met Katsuma when Midoriya was done with him.
Bakugo blasted the villain, watching the police force rush to capture the unconscious villain. Turning to Midoriya, Bakugo froze when he saw Midoriya's dark expression.
"Izuku? What the hell?" yelled Bakugo over the sirens.
"Something happened. I'm heading to UA. Right. Now," seethed Midoriya, shooting his gaze to his best friend.
"I'm coming with. You look like you're going to kill someone," remarked Bakugo, eager to see what was about to go down.
Midoriya chuckled to himself, freaking out Bakugo. "Oh, once I know what that dumb girl did, I just might."
Katsuma was in the nurse's office, currently getting his vitals checked since no one knew exactly what Okamura did to knock someone as strong as Katsuma out. The adults were still discussing their mode of action when Nezu revealed that Midoriya was here.
The adults were panicking, trying to figure out what they were going to tell the number one hero. Their panic only doubled when they found out the number two hero, Midoriya's hero partner, the one and only Bakugo Katsuki, was with him.
Kota and Eri were beside Bakugo as Midoriya took the lead. Midoriya entered the nurse's office, immediately tending to Katsuma. "I'm going to kill that little punk. I guess she is stupid enough to hurt one of my precious jewels."
Katsuma silently cried into Midoriya's chest, feeling safe in the presence of his guardian. "She... she."
Midoriya shushed Katsuma, seeing that Katsuma was not ready to talk about what happened. Turning to the new nurse, the pro-hero Healflame, Midoriya tried to remain kind.
"What did Okamura do?"
"From what I can tell, she failed to properly inject Katsuma with an unknown substance I'm getting tested now. Okamura also physically attacked Katsuma once she injected the substance into him, most likely the way Katsuma ended up unconscious. There will be some bruising on his head, wrists, and legs, but is fine otherwise."
Midoriya screamed at Nezu, Katsuma's teacher, and Okamura's teacher. The fact that Okamura wasn't in handcuffs only enhanced his rage.
"So you failed to protect my child, but you are now protecting a criminal? That monster practically kidnapped and assaulted my child in this school and you all are protecting her?" shrieked Midoriya, his face growing red from how angry he was.
Nezu bowed his head and sighed, "We can't do anything. Okamura's case depends on Katsuma."
"And you wanna know why you can't do anything? My son was knocked un-fucking-conscious!" Midoriya couldn't help but laugh in disbelief. "You know, after all the shit my class went through in our time here, you still manage to fail to protect children Nezu."
Nezu remained silent, staring at Midoriya in shock and hurt. Everyone in the room knew Midoriya hit where it hurt. No one could blame Midoriya because what he said was true.
Shoji rushed to bow before Midoriya. "I sincerely apologize for the harm I have caused Katsuma and I'm planning on apologizing to him personally. He mentioned Okamura was a bit on the crazy side, but I didn't know to the extent. I have failed your son and I promise to make it up to the both of you."
Midoriya smiled, patting Shoji's shoulder before giving it a tight squeeze. "The first thing you can do to make it up to me is to get that brat's parents here... now."
Shoji nodded, leaving the room to make the calls. Bakugo marched over and crossed his arms. "This is why you can't even break the top ten. If you paid attention and cared about your students, none of this shit would've happened."
Kota scoffed, "They didn't even seem to hurry when I told them to find Katsuma!"
"Yeah, they tried to tell us that we were being dramatic," ranted Eri, happy to call out the teacher's neglect.
Midoriya looked at Bakugo. "Kacchan."
"What nerd?"
"I need you to stop me if I can't hold back anymore."
Bakugo nodded, the only one equipped to stop Midoriya if he lost his cool. It wasn't often that Midoriya lost control of his emotions, but then again, Midoriya always struggled to control his heart when those he loved were hurt.
When Okamura's parents finally arrived, Midoriya guided them to a private room to discuss what happened. Midoriya genuinely believed that if he talked to the parents, they'd come to a resolution.
It didn't take long for Midoriya and Okamur's parents to disagree.
"Our precious daughter would never do that!" cried the girl's mother.
Midoriya narrowed his eyes, getting suspiciously calm. "Oh? So you want to play that game."
The woman wasn't having any of it. "How dare you insinuate our child was capable of harming Katsuma! She loves that boy with all her heart!"
"You're daughter may have loved my kid, but she had a horrible way of showing it. Your daughter is the reason why they broke up, she made my son cry. Your child is a demented lunatic! She assaulted my kid!" argued Midoriya, his composure slipping.
The woman gasped, pointing a finger at Midoriya. "You're crazy! I don't care if you're some hot-shot hero, you're the crazy one!"
"I don't care if protecting my son makes me crazy. And... just so you know, parent to parent, I don't care what you say anymore. I was willing to come to some kind of resolution, but that's over now. I won't let your criminal of a child get away with what she did and she will not be getting away with a lousy slap on the wrist. Her future is over," promised Midoriya heartlessly.
"You can't do this!" exploded the woman, her face bright red as panic settled in her gut.
"Oh, but I can, and I am more than happy to let you know that your daughter will never become a hero because I am going to get her banned from this school and all other hero schools. Your child is a villain and if she does manage to get away with this... I will make sure that the rest of her life is a hell she can't escape,â vowed Midoriya, his smile anything but welcoming.
Midoriya happily got up and left the horrified mom and neglectful dad in the room. Opening the door, Midoriya was met with Bakugo and Kota eavesdropping. Midoriya rolled his eyes at Bakugo's stunned expression.
"Damn Izuku. You should date me," suggested Bakugo, shooting his shot.
Kota fake gagged, offended. "Back off old man!"
Midoriya patted Bakugo's bicep. "Ask me later Kacchan. I'm in the middle of something."
"The middle of being a badass," complimented Kota, smiling at the memory of Midoriya giving those parents a piece of his mind.
Thankfully with Midoriya's power and status, Okamura was expelled and charged with assault even though most children don't ever get serious charges. The substance Okamura tried to inject Katsuma with was another piece of evidence that made it easy for Midoriya to get his way.
Katsuma had a quick recovery and his bond with Midoriya somehow managed to get even stronger. Kota and Eri also managed to get even closer to Katsuma, growing even more overprotective. Midoriya was happy to shelter and defend the kids who were put under his care.
No one fucked with Midoriyaâs kids.

Denki: Bakugou, fuck marry kill with the people in class, go
Bakugou: Deku
Denki: uh. Which one?
Bakugou: what do you mean which one
âI like you.â
âHuh?â
âI like you!â
âYeah right, Iâm not interested in your games.â
âWhat?â
âAre you deaf? I donât care about what you have to say Deku.â
âAh, okay. I understand.â
It had taken Midoriya months to gather the courage to confess to Bakugo. A part of him always knew he loved Bakugo, but he never had the chance to address how he felt.
They had gotten much closer throughout their time at U.A. High and Midoriya had reason to believe Bakugo felt the same way. Unfortunately, Midoriya was mistaken. Bakugo made it very clear he wasnât interested in Midoriya and that whatever Midoriya wanted to express wasnât important.
The wonder duoâs once strong and seemingly unbreakable bond was broken.
In the days following Midoriyaâs rejection, he didnât bother speaking to Bakugo. While he still had an unshakable crush on Bakugo, he couldnât bring himself to talk or be around him. It hurt too much.
The entire class instantly noticed the shift in Midoriyaâs mood and mannerisms. Usually, Midoriya was happily calling out to Bakugo and walking around with him. Mina was the first to rush over and ask Midoriya what was happening on day three.
âAre you okay?â asked Mina worriedly, trying to keep her voice to a hush.
Midoriya took a moment to smile, and the action looked like it hurt. Following his physical reaction, it took a couple more seconds for him to respond. Through gritted teeth, Midoriya answered, âIâve never been better.â
Mina grabbed Midoriya by the arm and dragged him out of the room. âCut the shit, letâs talk.â
Uraraka got up and quickly followed the two outside of the classroom. Mina closed the door behind them and grabbed Midoriyaâs shoulders.
âSpill.â
âWait, whatâs happening,â questioned Uraraka quickly. She didnât want to assume what Mina was telling Midoriya to talk about, but she hoped it was about his concerning behavior.
âMidoriya here is acting weird and is avoiding Bakugo. Iâm asking what happened,â informed Mina, looking at Uraraka before turning back to Midoriya.
âItâs nothing guys, really,â sighed Midoriya, waving his hands.
Uraraka and Mina gave each other an unimpressed glance before pointing their stare at Midoriya. Midoriya wilted at their expression. Uraraka called her best friend out quickly. âNothing my butt. You look like a kicked puppy. Iâm worried about you.â
âYeah, we just want to know whatâs upsetting you,â agreed Mina, keeping her voice hushed and gentle. Sheâs been more careful around Midoriya after the war.
Midoriya stared at the ground with such intensity it scared the two. Midoriya felt his lip wobble as the dam of tears behind his eyes was prepared to break. Despite doing his best to compose himself and act like everything was okay, he couldnât.
He wasnât okay. He wanted to cry. He felt embarrassed, ashamed, and undesirable. If Bakugo had politely rejected Midoriya, that would have been easier to bounce back from, but that wasnât the case.
Bakugo spat on Midoriyaâs heart. While Midoriya knew Bakugo could be harsh on his bad days, it was still extremely out of character for him.
In the middle of the hallway, Midoriya crumbled. His shoulders trembled as he let out loud sobs he tried to muffle. Uraraka jumped at the suddenness of Midoriyaâs breakdown.
Mina swallowed hard as her frown deepened. Guilt started eating her up, worried she overstepped a boundary and hurt Midoriya.
Uraraka pulled Midoriya into a hug, not bothering to waste words when it was clear Midoriya wasnât going to hear them anyway. Mina on the other hand began to guide Midoriya and Uraraka away from the classroom for more privacy.Â
Kirishima, who had been on the other side of the door, turned around with a pale face. The rest of the class who were waiting for Kirishima to fill them in all felt their expressions fall when they saw his face. It was clear Midoriya wasnât doing okay, and Kirishimaâs expression confirmed their fears.
âGuys⌠Midoriyaâs crying,â revealed Kirishima slowly with panic laced in his voice.
Todoroki walked over, growing nervous. âWhat do you think couldâve caused him to be this upset?â
Iida shook his head, crossing his arms. âHe was already acting strange yesterday afternoon. He skipped dinner.â
âI donât think Iâve ever heard Midoriya cry like that before. Sure, heâs been through hell, but this cry is heartbreaking,â explained Kirishima, looking at the rest of his peers.
âI hope itâs nothing too serious. Midoriyaâs been through so much already,â recalled Momo, letting her fingers nervously fidget.
Bakugo on the other hand was trying to keep his cool. It was quickly becoming apparent that Midoriyaâs breakdown was because of what went down earlier that week.
He didnât have a good reason for why he acted the way he did or why he said the things he did. He just assumed Midoriya was messing with him, and Bakugo took it personally because he was genuinely interested.
Too bad he went and fucked it all up.
Deciding to take matters into his own hands, he pushed back his chair and stalked to the doorway. With one strong swing he threw open the door and quickly slammed it shut behind him.
Crying quickly met his ears, and he turned his head to spot Uraraka and Mina failing to console him. Bakugo stalked his way over, feeling his pulse pick up at the sound of Midoriya crying knowing it was his fault.
âPink cheeks, raccoon eyes, leave,â instructed Bakugo with a seriousness they hadnât seen or heard in a while.
The duo instantly backed off, making their way back towards the classroom. Meanwhile, Midoriya was struggling to get himself together. He didnât want Bakugo to see him in such a state. Midoriya didnât want Bakugo to know he still held so much power over him years later.
âIzuku.â
Midoriya quickly cut him off, raising a hand. âDonât.â
Bakugo stilled, not expecting Midoriya to respond with such hostility. âI just wanted to apologize.â
âWow. Really? Thatâs surprising,â scoffed Midoriya, lowering his hands to show an unimpressed expression accompanied by red puffy eyes.
âDonât be a smartass,â fired back Bakugo, not one to take disrespect lightly.
âWell, excuse me for not being nice after how you spoke to me yesterday,â replied Midoriya bluntly, crossing his arms.
Bakugo paused, balling his hands up. Taking a deep breath, he said, âIzuku, please. If you will⌠let me explain.â
Midoriya narrowed his eyes, taking a step forward. âPlease, enlighten me as to why you donât care about anything I have to say and that my feelings arenât important to you.â
It was quiet for a bit, Midoriya watched as Bakugoâs face turned a rosy shade of pink. The resentment, anger, and hurt that Midoriya had been feeling almost instantly faltered. This wasnât an expression Midoriya expected to see on Bakugoâs face.
âKacchan?â
âShit, this is embarrassing!â admitted Bakugo angrily, rubbing his face.
âWhat?â questioned Midoriya with concern, a part of him was worried Bakugo was embarrassed about feeling the same way.
Bakugo looked into Midoriyaâs beautiful green eyes before revealing, âI thought you were pranking me.â
Midoriya stilled, his worried expression morphing into something resembling irritation. âExcuse me? Why would you ever think Iâd fake confessing to you?â
âI saw you with Pink Cheeks yesterday whispering about something like weirdos,â explained Bakugo.
âHey!â yelled Midoriya, offended by the unnecessary detail.
âLet me finish Freckles! After you guys were done whispering, I overheard Pink Cheeks talking with Dunce Face and Raccoon Eyes. They were laughing about some great prank and your name was mentioned a lot. You approached me less than ten minutes later,â detailed Bakugo, crossing his arms.
Midoriya looked up at Bakugo to see the way his expression softened, and his eyes were filled with remorse. Butterflies filled Midoriyaâs gut as he realized he still had a chance. Bakugo may really like him.
âI donât know about any prank, but Iâm about to go find out,â hissed Midoriya, his blood boiling at the realization his friends set him up.
âHold it right there. You arenât going anywhere,â countered Bakugo, swiftly grabbing Midoriyaâs wrist.
Snapping his gaze up to Bakugo, Midoriya was put back into the present. His head was all over the place as one strong emotion after the next came over him.
âDo you,â started Midoriya before having to stop and swallow a lump in his throat. âDo you like me too?â
Bakugo pulled Midoriyaâs arm. Midoriya flew towards Bakugo, yelping before feeling a muscular arm hold his waist. âFuck that cheesy kid shit. Iâm in love with you, Izuku.â
Before Midoriya could get a word out Bakugo captured his lips. Midoriya let out a relieved sigh as he melted into Bakugoâs arms. Bakugo let go of Midoriya to set both hands on his waist and pull him close.
Midoriya swiftly moved his hands to Bakugoâs shoulders before sliding them up the nape of his neck. He felt his legs get weak as Bakugo kissed him like he was the most perfect person in the world.
When the two pulled away for a moment, Bakugo declared, âWe are dating.â
âJust kiss me again,â sighed Midoriya and he looked up into Bakugoâs piercing stare.
Bakugo didnât waste a minute to capture Midoriya in another kiss. They both ignored the fact that class had started, and they were definitely going to get in trouble for kissing in the middle of the hallway.
Meanwhile, Uraraka and Mina were staring at the duo with dropped jaws. Kirishima had opened the door to get an update and was also frozen in surprise at the sight of Midoriya and Bakugo making out in the hallway.
Their teacher took one look at what was going on in the hallway before going right back to the teacher's stand. It was about time the two teens figured out their feelings. The teacher no longer had to deal with the strange air that surrounded the two.
By the time Midoriya and Bakugo returned to the room, everyone knew what had just happened. Todoroki pointed a finger at the duo with a smile. âIâm glad to see you finally figured out the obvious.â
âHa?â shouted Bakugo, hand ready to blast Todoroki to space.
âGood for you two! I was wondering when youâd finally get together,â cheered Mina, clapping her hands.
Midoriya was bright red, covering his face in embarrassment at the realization all his classmates heard and witnessed their confession and kissing. âOh god.â
The teacher cleared their throat, grabbing the attention of everyone. âYou may all talk about your personal lives after class. Letâs leave both Bakugo and Midoriya alone and continue our lesson.â
Twenty students all sadly shuffled back to their seats. Bakugo sneakily took Midoriyaâs hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. Midoriya flashed Bakugo a giddy smile before squeezing his hand back.
Even if the way they started dating came from a less-than-ideal situation, Midoriya couldnât be more grateful. If it took a misunderstanding and some tears to get the ball rolling, then so be it. Bakugo would spend the rest of his life making up for it.
Midoriya was now dating the boy of his dreams.
Lance was always different he was always more on the peaceful side rather than immediately resorting to violence and he always was good at language and pretty much could easily learn anyone he felt like he wanted to learn. He held himself well and proudly feeling, strong confident and more powerful then what an average human felt about one's self. Born strong... scratch that extremely strong. Well in accordance with how he never really worked out and was more muscular when compared to those around him. Blessed with the knowledge of reading others' body language and how those around him work. A quick thinker in stressful and intense moments.
He may have not been good at school due to his short attention span or anything but he still didnât do horrible.
Yet since he joined Voltron it just became out of wack. He didnât feel as confident or as smart or as if he was worth anything. He still had those traits he just no longer found himself different from everyone else. He felt like he was worth so much less and just not of use when it came to it.
Deciding to take a rest they noticed as an unidentifiable ship landed they all looked horrified when Sendak walked out and had around 30 Alteans behind him, a sight no one couldâve ever imagined seeing.
Lance felt something in his chest change it was an uncontrollable rage he never knew he could possess. It felt like acid reflux but throughout his entire being. Without warning, he was right before Sendak with his Bayard summoned and aimed at his throat. Sendak had a wide smirk.
âA worthy opponent. Let's fight.â
Lance flew back to dodge Sendak's arm and summoned his gun and Blasted Sendak's arm causing it to spark, shocking Lance who grunted used to the feeling by now taking a hard run at Sendak. Sendak flashed out his other arm ad it slammed into Lanceâs helmet breaking it. Lance had to blink a bit to refocus on what was happening and felt blood drip down his nose and he smirked wiping it off with his hand.
âAlright, fucker no more nice guy.â
Sendak was taken back for a second wondering what the fuck that meant and Lance took Sendak being off guard as a blessing pulling out his sword and Sendak had one of his own and he was pressing against Lanceâs smirking.
âYou think you can defeat me? You are nothing more than a weak, useless Paladin.â
Lance growled and felt his anger volt through his body, feeling himself growing stronger, a powerful energy coarse through his body.
âOh, Sendak.â
Sendak smirked pressing forward, towards Lance, âYes?â
âIâm not a Paladin, Iâm so much more...â
Sendak was taken aback for a second and roared charging at the Blue Paladin.
Lanceâs eyes turned bright blue as his aura shined bright purple from red and blue since he was both their Paladins.
Lance took a deep and sharp break growing more and more angry with every breath he took.
Lance screamed as he felt himself transform he slammed his foot into Sendak's only hand knocking the sword lightyears away. He then slammed his foot into Sendakâs chest causing him to fly back and Lance screamed as he bolted at Sendak the team just watching this all godown. Sendakâs arm flew back as he shot it at Lance who caught his arm and slammed it along with Sendak to the ground like Allura did with Lotor.
He suddenly saw an orb of blue appear in his hand and Lance smiled, âThis wonât hurt one bit.â
Lance drew back his arm and slammed it into Sendak creating a huge explosion causing everyone to fly back. Lance screaming in anger morphing it into something unidentifiable.
The team screamed as they ran to the scene the smoke hasnât cleared out yet and they all got a giant flash of Lanceâs past, after being consumed by a wave of light.
Lance was laying in his bed looking up at the glow stars, âWhat does she mean Iâm different?â
They snapped out of it and found Lance on his hands and knees and they froze when they saw his appearance. His hair was bright white he had nice pointed ears and blue marking covering his body.
His freckles no longer brown rather replaced with white, almost glowing dots.
Hunk pointed to Lanceâs altered appearance, âLance your hair!â
Keith nodded grabbing Lanceâs hand pulling back the armor showing Lance his freckles were white.
Lance stood up looking at him then turning to the team in shock as he felt the scales beneath his eyes once pulling up a mirror, âIâm-â
Allura breathes our shallowly her expressions soft and tears filled her eyes to the brim, âAltean.â
Izuku Has An Older Brother
Hisashi Midoriya dead
Mild Manga Spoiler @ end
The Midoriya family was small. It was Izuku, Inko, Hisashi, and his older brother Haru. Haru had stopped going to school halfway through high school, needing to help pay the bills. Hisashi had gotten sick during his business trip in Germany and could no longer work. Inko went from being a stay at home mom, to working 40 hour weeks with paid overtime. Haru would be out working as well, helping to fill in the other expenses of the apartment and everyday necessities.
Izuku grew up taking care of Hisashi. Izuku would give him his baths, make him take his pills, put on his chapstick, and make sure his IV was working properly. When Izuku was in his first year of Junior High, Hisashi passed away. Inko never told anyone, but many people from Hisashiâs work came, both from Japan and from Germany. He had been highly respected and had been an incredible man. Izuku sobbed, missing school for a week. Inko had kept up with work, having to pay off debt. Haru continued working, but lowered the amount of time he was working to keep an eye on Izuku. Izuku spent most of his time wrapped up in Hisashiâs clothing, laying in the bed he spent almost every hour of every day in.
Izuku still cleaned the house, made them dinner for after work, and would even spend his free time teaching Haru the stuff he learned. Izuku would give Inko back massages, fix her tea, and cuddle her to let them mourn and push past their grief and loss. Haru would always watch Midoriya with sad eyes, seeing him wear the same shirts everyday. The shirts were basic and they were all bought from the clearance section in a random clothing store. He watched Midoriya buy the same red shoes every time he needed a new pair. They were the cheapest pair of shoes manufactured for quirkless people.
Izuku would sit there, all alone in the kitchen, finding online coupons for Haru to use since he cut back on work hours. Izuku would do every single free give away for All Might merchandise and would only ask for one poster or figure for his birthday. Inko and Haru would often cry, knowing how this was a lot for Izuku to deal with when he was only 12 years old. Nothing really got better when Izuku started experiencing severe bullying in school. He never told Haru or Inko, but they knew.
Izuku was in his second year of Junior High when Haru decided to surprise him. Haru planned to pick Izuku up from school and take him out to grab something to eat. It would just be Haru and Izuku since Inko switched shifts with someone and was working the night shift instead. Izuku had gotten out of school, phone held in his hand as he read an article about a villain attack. Bakugo and his lackeys werenât too far behind Midoriya, stalking him like wild predators.
Haru waved at Izuku calling out. âIzuku!â
Izukuâs head snapped up from his phone. Spotting Haru, Izuku beamed at the sight of his brother. âHaru!â
The bullies immediately backed off. They were stunned to see Midoriya with an older guy who was definitely nearing the end of his teen years. Bakugo felt his blood boil, frustrated and confused at the presence of the unknown person. The other bullies were just shocked to see someone greet Midoriya happily.
Haru smiled, looking down at Midoriya fondly. âMom switched shifts, we going out to eat tonight. I know itâs long overdue, but consider it your birthday dinner.â
Bakugo stilled a bit, confused on how Haru spoke to Izuku. He wasnât sure if Haru was acting like he was Midoriyaâs older brother or if they were actually brothers. Bakugo stalked closer casually, trying not to bring attention to him or his lackeys.
Izuku smiled, head tilting to the side. âNonsense. I can cook us something a home. I just won a raffle the other day and got us two fresh briskets!â Izuku started rambling, getting excited. âWe can have one tonight. I was planning on having some beef stock soup and enoki mushrooms with a garlic and scallion sauce! I could even save some for mom and we can drop it off at her work!â
Bakugoâs eyebrows narrowed with his eyes, growing irritated. Since when did Inko work? There was nothing wrong with her working, but since him and Izuku were in diapers, Inko always took care of Izuku and was a stay at home mom. On top of that, Midoriya was winning food raffles and talking about making a fancy meal? Since when did Izuku want to be a chef or focus on anything other than being a hero. The bullies were shocked by that part as well.
Haru frowned, looking at Midoriya with guilty eyes, ashamed of how Midoriya was so prone to saving money for the others sake. âNo I was hoping we could go out and grab something together. I love your cooking and that sound amazing, but mom already took some leftovers yesterday to work and I saved up some money to treat you.â
Bakugo felt his eye twitch, hands growing sweaty.
âMoney?â
He couldnât understand why money was such an issue suddenly? It seemed that everything was perfect for Izuku financially. He always had All Might merchandise and his uniform was always in perfect condition despite the amount of them he personally had ruined. He didnât know who this mystery guy was or why he wanted to take Izuku out on a late birthday dinner.
Izuku smiled, taking Haruâs hands gently. Most of the students had disappeared at this point, many already in their clubs or heading home or to hang out with friends. Bakugo and his lackeys pretended that they were not paying attention. Midoriya wasnât facing them so as long as Haru didnât grow suspicious then everything wouldâve been fine.
Izuku had taken Haruâs hands gently and smiled. âAre you sure? I donât need a birthday dinner⌠all I needed was to spend the day with you and mom. I donât need you to go out of your way to do this for me.â
The group of bullies felt guilt creep in, uneasy with how Midoriya spoke.
Haru frowned, eyes whelming up slightly with tears at how gentle his younger brother was. âIâm sorry Izuku. Iâm so sorry.â
Midoriya raised a hand to wipe Haruâs tears.
âDonât apologize brother.â
The group instantly froze, finally noticing the faint freckles Haru mustâve also inherited from his father. They noticed the black hair that matched the black patches in Midoriyaâs. Bakugo noticed his hair was similar to Inkoâs, thick and straight. The boy was wearing a black dress shirt and some slacks, revealing his probably worked as a server at a restaurant. His eyes were tried, but he looked at Midoriya so adoringly that they wouldâve mistaken the exhaustion for relief.
They all watched the older boy, now known as Midoriyaâs brother, shiver under the kind touch of the boy they bullied.
âBrother⌠why are you always apologizing?â inquired Izuku.
âI⌠I donât,â denied Haru sheepishly.
âYes. You do. You and mother stare at me with apologetic eyes all the time. You use actions, not words, to say you are sorry,â stated Izuku firmly.
The brother felt his eyes widen, cheek heating up at the fact he had been caught. He found himself embarrassed, thinking he had tried to appear strong when Izuku saw through it all along.
Bakugo saw the expression of Haru and knew instantly that Izuku saw deeper into Haru than what Haru assumed he was capable of seeing. The other bullies watched, crouching to rest their legs, but listening at the same time. Bakugo wanted to know everything, he didnât know why he didnât know. Inko told Mitsuki everything and Mitsuki told everything she talked about to him and his father at dinner. Why did he not know about Haru? Why did he not know about the money? What else didnât he know?
âDoes being poor make us unhappy? If I canât wear popular clothing or buy a new uniform, should people pity us?â questioned Midoriya, gently rubbing Haruâs cheek with concern.
Haru looked at Midoriya with widened eyes. Desperately wanting to tell Midoriya that yes, he was happy even though he was poor. Nobody had to pity them because of their circumstances. He wanted to let Midoriya know he deserved those things. Not that because of them being poor, they had to be miserable and appear miserable.
Bakugo on the other hand felt his heart stop. Not only was Midoriya struggling with money, but they were classified as poor. Not only that but he and the other bullies were astonished how well kept the uniform was. It looked perfect despite the amount of times they pushed him and made him scratch up the uniform or how they made him get stains on it, or the times where theyâve burnt it or spilled things on him. They couldnât fathom the work he put in to not get a new one. They felt guilty, not only were the hurting Midoriya, but the entire family when they were financially distressed. They felt like the shit people they truly were.
They couldnât do anything but look at Midoriya love and console his older brother, finally deciding to talk about the issues they most likely danced around.
âAre you so determined to blame someone that⌠that you blame our father from dying of illness?â softly persisted Izuku, asking gently in the worry of Haru being so torn up over what happened that his grief turned to anger.
Bakugo and the bullies felt as if their world shattered in the moment. The distraught look on Haruâs face matched the bullies as they felt like they had just recieved the biggest slap in the face.
Bakugo stood there is disbelief. Hisashi was dead, thatâs why Inko was working and they were struggling for money. He didnât know when Hisashi got sick, when he died, how Hisashi died. He didnât even know if there was a funeral. This side of Midoriyaâs life had been hidden so well it never once occurred to him something changed. The other bullies all unanimously agreed they would back off with Midoriyaâs uniform.
âWhile I was taking care of him, bathing him, feeding him⌠he worked so hard⌠but it wasnât enough. Nothing he couldâve done was enough. Even though the medicine was keeping the illness from developing, it weakened his kidneys and liver,â explained Midoriya, taking Haruâs hand again, squeezing them tightly.
Bakugo felt himself join the others crouching down as he was overwhelmed with even more information. They all exchanged a look, realizing how bad this was. Izuku was bullied during the day, taking care of his dying father at night. None of them could even begin to imagine how mentally challenging it mustâve been for him.
âWe just have to accept it,â cooed Midoriya, looking down at Haruâs hands.
Haru felt his eyes water, amazed with his little brotherâs beautiful maturity and innocence. I made the cold bitterness in his heart turn into a warm and sugary lightness. With Izukuâs words alone, he felt ready to accept how things were.
Midoriya looked up at his brother with tears falling from his eyes, his heart racing. âWeâre only humans. We canât just expect things to go the way we want.â
The group of bullies felt their eyes widen, listening to Midoriya in awe. His ability to push forward with pride and passion to take life head and heart first stunned them. They all knew if they had been put in his shoes, none of them would be handling it how he was. Hell, they werenât even sure if theyâd still be alive. Bakugoâs whole existence was based off of his quirk, without it, heâd have nothing. He never would admit it, but it was true. To hear Midoriya explain that he accepted life for what it is despite the odds being against him, was powerful.
Haru was frowning, beyond upset. It wasnât toward Izuku, Inko, or Hisashi. It was toward himself. He had wallowed in self-pity and self-deprecating thoughts when he shouldâve been pushing forward to smile and laugh. He shouldâve been working harder, towards a brighter future that Hisashi would want them to go chase after. Izuku tended to his family because he wanted them to smile again, live comfortably in the comfort of being alive with one another.
âWhether or not you are happy⌠all of this is up to you. What matters in now. That your alive, youâre healthy, and that Iâm here and momâs here,â rationalized Izuku, trying to speak his heart, his voice, his thoughts and feelings.
One of the bullies nodded to himself, agreeing. Izuku was completely right. Haru had every right to focus on the past and reflect, but the past shouldnât be controlling everything he does in the future. Haru and Inko were trying to live through the past and it wasnât helping them or Izuku. From what they heard, Midoriya heart was pure despite the scars is bore. Bakugo felt the protectiveness he once felt as a young child. He felt that longing need to be the stronger one that would protect the meek kid Izuku was. The bullies didnât feel the need to protect, but rather they felt respect. They all felt the strong vitality Midoriya possessed, and they respected it.
âLetâs push forward together, focus on whatâs going to come! Yes, we must work hard and do things that weâd rather not worry or stress over⌠but we must fight for it!â Midoriya raised his voice as he spoke, finding himself growing emotional.
The life in Midoriyaâs voice, the overwhelming emotions that couldnât be easily defined, shook them to their core. They hadnât ever heard Midoriyaâs raise his voice, let alone sound defensive.
âSo please, stop apologizing. You out of everyone I know should understand⌠I want someone to understand how I feel!â cried Midoriya.
The bullies felt their eyes widen. Out of all of the times theyâve seen Midoriya cry. Theyâve never heard it. Theyâve never listened to his voice break as he tried to finish his sentence despite his soul howling in despair. Bakugo knew things were going to change, he wouldnât make it too obvious, but he was going to lay off. The bullies were more than willing to comply, using him being quirkless didnât seem like justification for their actions after what they heard.
Haru felt his eyes widen, panicking. âHey, hey, hey. I want to understand how you feel Izu. I canât imagine what you had to go through taking care of dad alone. I canât imagine what it felt like watching him die as you waited for someone to come help. I donât understand your emotional connection⌠but I want you to have everything and more Izuku.â
Haru pulled Izuku into a tight hug, rubbing his cheek in Izukuâs wild curls and breathing in the wonderful scent of their 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner. He clung to Izuku like a lifeline, rocking back and fourth. Midoriya hugged back, his whole body sinking into Haru.
âYou deserve everything you want in life Izuku. Iâm apologizing because I canât offer you what you deserve. You donât deserve anything youâve been through.â
Izuku grumbled, smacking the back of Haruâs head. âDonât worry about what I deserve. Focus on what I need. I need you and mom to smile and stop wallowing around. Let me do what Iâve been doing to help without having you two stare at me with sad eyes.â
The bullies all watched the two interact with grins. The sight of Haru being serious and wanting the best for Midoriya, only for him to get disciplined by his younger brother. It was laughable, but they remained quiet, pretending to just be worried about something else. Haru had acknowledged their presence, but didnât think anything of it because they did appear to be on their phones and casually âtalkingâ.
Midoriya pulled away and quickly dabbed away his tears. âLetâs grab some bubble tea and go home and grill some brisket? I donât want to eat out⌠it gives me anxiety.â
Haru looked at Midoriya and his mood immediately lightens up. âOkay, letâs go. Wanna talk about your day at school?â
âSchool was stupid as always. How about you tell me how work went. Iâm sure some crazy person made an interesting story,â deflected Izuku, quickly putting the focus off of him.
The bullies as sank with relief, glad Midoriya didnât bring them up. They couldnât help but be surprised nonetheless as he didnât even show any sign his day was bad, giving a generic response like any teen would normally say. They couldnât help but wonder if Midoriya never brought them up period.
Midoriya patted his brother on the cheek before Haru turned around to walk with Midoriya to the cheapest place to buy bubble tea.
The following day, Midoriya comes to school and rather being greeted by a punch, he only met with insults. Not once had Bakugo and his lackeys lay a finger on him since the beginning of the day to the moment Midoriya stepped into the comfort of his home. Midoriya noticed the way their words seemed to get caught on their tongue as they made snide comments and their usual stale remarks and insults. He noticed and wondered if they had a change of heart and a change of attitude. Maybe someone said something to them that made them think about their actions. Whatever it was, it made Midoriya smile to himself. All days after that, it was the same. His bullying became strictly verbal and he could live with that.
Time passed and nothing really changed until the fateful day the teacher purposefully told the class Midoriya wanted to go to UA. Bakugo lost his temper and proceeded to be just as awful of a person as he had been the previous yesr. The bullies even called him out for it, pointing out how he was far harsher than usual. Bakugo had burned Midoriyaâs shoulder while death gripping it. He chased his physical attack with one of the worst things he couldâve ever said and proceeded to leave as if nothing had happened.
Midoriya got into UA anyways and made Bakugo eat his words. Bakugo didnât understand how Midoriya magically got a quirk, but that was a confrontation for another time. It wouldnât be until after the Paranormal Liberation War when Midoriya was in recovery that Bakugo finally met Haru one to one.
The first thing Bakugo did was bow down before Haru and Inko.
âIâm sorry.â
A/N: anyone notice the scene from Demon Slayer I used đ
ALSO HOW DO YOU UNLIKE YOUR OWN POST???
nvm my shit was glitched
Keith and Lance were talking after Keith glared when Lance kissed her hand. She laughed along with Lance. Keith wasnât sure if to think they were in love or just having a friendly conversation and Keith wanted answers.
Lance looked concerned, âKeith? Something up?â
Keith shook his head, âNo I was just wondering if you and Allura were together?â
Lance waved his hands shaking his head, âNo! Wow no! She rejected me to remember... wait do you love her?â
Keith paused for a moment, âYeah, I do.â
Lance looked at Keith hiding the hurt, âOh, well If you love her then why havenât you confessed?â
Keith looked away from his gaze more directed to the ground, âI thought... she may reject me?â
Lance gave a sad smile and resting a hand on Keithâs shoulder, âWell when she rejected me... said she loved you so! Youâre all hers!â
Keith nodded, âThanks for telling me... but Iâm sorry.â
Lance paused in front of the door and was about to walk out, âSorry?â
Keith nodded even though he knew Lance canât see him. Lance never faced Keith as he didnât want to see the tears so he stayed there ready to leave.
Keith sighed, âI lied. I donât like Allura.â
Lance took a moment to swallow the lump in his throat, âOh you like Pidge?â
Keith grumbled, âI donât... like girls.â
Lance stood in the doorway still not facing Keith, âOh so you like Matt or Shiro! Thatâs good Uhm yeah Iâm going to go!â
Keith was going to call for Lance but he bolted away tears flying behind him, he couldnât stand to hear the person Keith liked, Allura was already too much but a person in the group.
Keith was already after Lance who was sprinting to his room which was the farthest from Keithâs. Soon enough Keith was catching up to Lance.
âLance slow down!â
Lance didnât respond but stopped running.
Keith caught up and reached out a hand, âYou never let me finish.â
Lance turned around, âDonât worry Keith, I get it and I support you but trust me Allura may be upset with you and that person.â
Keithâs face softened, âLance.â
Lance started to ramble about random things and Keith sighed, âLance!â
Lance sighed defeated looking at Keith ashamed of himself. Keith chuckled at that and cupped Lanceâs face. His eyes grew wide Keith chuckled and kissed Lance deeply. Lance felt his eyes close and pull Keith closer desperate that if it was only at that moment, he got Keithâs affection.
About a minute later they broke the kiss looking at each other breathless.
Keith spoke, âI like you.â
Lance smiled at that, âI really like you.â
Keith pulled Lance for another kiss and Lance kissed him quickly and looked at him, âI donât want to deal with the wrath of Allura letâs go to my room.â
Keith nodded scooping Lance and held his upper thighs to support Lance and he wrapped his arms around the back of Keithâs neck, he went into Lanceâs room and the door shut and Keith dropped Lance onto the bed and went right to kissing him again. As if this was the last night of their lives, they focused on the other's lips and taste and their hair and they never went further but did take off their shirts obsessing over the skin and Keith left slow soft kisses on Lanceâs back scar from the crystal explodes. Lance messed with Keithâs shoulder scar from the BOM and Keith slightly squirmed and they found each other's spots and found pleasure in their moans. Lips. Skin. Body.
They fell onto their backs cuddling not worrying about what tomorrow will have in store.
Lanceâs mind was racing over everything letting it all wash over him in waves
his doubts, Keith, Allura, the teams, Voltronâs next move, his family, everything, you name it.
Keith noticed and kissed his forehead and before Lance fell to sleep Keith whispered softly, âDonât worry everything will be okay.â
So empty. Quiet. The air was stiff.
Whenever Lance wasnât working or training he sat in the vast silence that filled him and a nobody ruler from an unspoken of planet.
Nights were loveless touch starved and once and a while filled with lustless moans forgotten in the seemingly never-ending halls of the castle.
Lance finally decided to call someone, anyone.
âCoran, can I come over for a little bit, maybe a week or less?â
He heard conversing in the background grow quiet, âWhy of course is something wrong?â
Lance turned around to see his husband still asleep before he quickly left the room.
âNo- just... I need to get away for a bit.â
âOf course you can come over!â
Lance smiled looking overwhelmed with joy, something he shouldâve found in his husband, recently married.
âIâll be there as soon as possible.â
Just as quick as the conversation came it was over the silent static once again filled the void in Lanceâs ears.
...
âAbsolutely not!â
âIâm going whether or not you want me to!â
âWell then! Iâll just go with you!â
âOh really? Iâm shocked youâd give up time away from me-â
-power 100%-
Lance grabbed his bags and walked in the silent footsteps behind him followed as the door hissed shut.
Lance shook his head butting his lip.
âWhy would I want to be away from you? Huh!â
âOh like hell you donât know!â
âStop pretending like you arenât obvious about what you do when Iâm busy!â
âWhat exactly are you implying?â
-Youâve arrived at your destination-
Silent Lance walked out and up to Coran who tightly hugged Lance in his arms picking up on his radiating sadness.
âI missed this.â
Coran couldnât help but let out a small chuckle, âWhat is it that you miss my boy?â
âA hug.â
The simple phrase was enough to strike a nerve in Coranâs heart as he let go to gaze at the husband.
âHello, my names Coran.â
âEthan, Prince Ethan, honor to meet you, Coran.â
âCome on in everyoneâs hereâ
Lance smiled softly coming in and he tried to shine bright and let his usual ego take control but he had nothing left.
Pidge froze before leaping at Lance, âLance! Oh my god, Iâve missed you so much! How come you never call?â
Lance glanced for his husband, âOh! Sorry for not being active Iâve been very... busy!â
Pidge shrugged, âUnderstandable everyone always has a problem to deal with.â
Hunk walked over and just hugged Lance tightly as Pidge introduced herself to Ethan.
âYou okay Lance?â
âYeah, Iâm good.â
âYou sure? You donât seem your usual chipper self.â
Forcing a shit-eating grin and a laugh, âTime will change even the most beautiful of roses.â
Pulling back Hunk softly smiled, âYouâre right about that buddy, but itâs nice to see you, your features have really matured.â
Chuckling I turned to Shiro, âHi! How have you been?â
âGood, how about you? Your charm finally paid off I see.â
I shifted my weight between my two feet uncomfortably, âYeah... it really did, didnât it?â
Finally, I turned to Keith, oh perfect Keith. How Iâd give anything to change our course and our passings for one bright future. He hadnât changed too much seeming relatively the same.
I grew taller my muscles for defined along with my eyes and from Allura Altean features started to change my DNA slowly.
âWe just had dinner a couple before you arrived so if you like I can show you your room and then heat you something up.â
Ethan interjected, âWeâll be fine thank you very much.â
Lance sighed as Ethan grabbed Lanceâs wrist whispering in his ear. Lance nodded seemingly irritated, Coran smiled guiding the way as Lance ripped his hand from Ethan's grapes putting space between the two.
Once shown their room Ethan smiled, âThank you, we will join you in a bit we have matters to discuss at the moment with work.â
Lance looked at Coran, âSorry he felt like he needed to lie to you, we will need to establish some things personal between the two of us and then we will be out with you all.â
âOkay, my boy...â
Pidge had other plans. Getting Hunk and Keith to go with her to snoop she rushed to their room where voices could be heard. It was almost screaming.
âWhat exactly do you know Lance?â
âOh my god... Why are you ignoring the fact that I know youâve been unfaithful!â
âYou know Iâve had my rough spots but Iâm not cheating on you!â
âOh? So everyone on our planet is lying, they havenât seen you out with a girl, by the name of Ruthan?â
âLance, thatâs enough!â
âYou know what? Iâm done with your bullshit! Day and night Iâm slaving away doing work for a civilization you couldnât give a tinnier shit about! I come back just for you to need sex, a loveless marriage you make me regret every day!â
âI give you money! I give you fame! Everything you possibly would want! You selfish whore!â
A loud smack was heard and everything went silent.
âHow. Dare. You! You fucking asshole!â
âLance Iâm so sorry!â
Shattering was heard.
âYour ring!â
âI hate you....â
âBaby...You donât mean that-â
âI fucking hate you!â
âI love you, Lance! I love you and I may make mistakes but I have never not loved you.â
âWhat? You love me ridding youâre dick cause your too lazy to be a man? What youâre telling me that when I try and take a shower you come in and slam me to the wall and make me scream until nothing else matters?â
âWell guess what? I wish I never loved you.â
âWait... is that why you're here? Are you not over him?â
âAs if any of this was influenced by that! You even know you're trying to fuck with my head again!â There was a long pause, âYouâre trying to manipulate me! Sabotage me, make me wanna crawl right back into square one where this cycle will never end.â
âI swear Ruthan was a once time thing Lance. I love you. I really do.â
âGod just shut up already and get over here.â
Laughing was heard as jumping was heard.
âGet off you fucking idiot!â
Well, they had heard everything they needed to.
It took two hours for them to be found. It was silent there was a sense of compassionate intimacy between the two. Yet it was built on lies. Lance didnât budge as Ethan whispered toxic nothings into his ear. With each one, the sweet cooling burn of alcohol brought Lance peace.
âYou can head to bed Iâll be there eventually.â
âOkay, Lance Iâll be knocked out in two seconds.â
âMhmm.â
It was silent as Lance let his head hit the table his body trembles as sobs erupted from his throat knowing at this point he was officially lost.
The growing sounds of footsteps neared as Lance felt a hand on his leg, âLance?â
Immediately wiping his tears he did his best to smile and make perfect eye contact, âYes...â
Keith. Shit.
âCome here.â
Lance threw himself onto Keith knocking him to the ground, Keith fully flushed he hugged Lance back. Lance pulled back wiping at his beautiful skin to remove the tears.
Keith cupped Lanceâs face, âWanna stay in my room tonight?â
Lance hesitated, âEthan will get mad at me.â
âThen let him. Judging by the fact your ring is now gone thatâs enough for you to be your own person again.â
Keith held Lanceâs hand tightly, not in a rough controlling manner but rather guiding and secure.
The door slid open to reveal a neat room other than a desk overflowing his papers.
Lance sat on the desk, âNice room, Mullet.â
Keith smirked, âThis is longer and more grown out than any mullet Iâve ever seen.â
âItâs a nickname dummy.â
The playful banter was back without even the tiniest bit of effort. Yet it grew quiet.
âI overheard you earlier, the fighting. Why do you stay?â
âI have nowhere else to go and... what about the people theyâd be under a foolish ruler?â
Keith looked at Lance with the most serious expression, âItâs not your job to be his sex slave and be a ruler for him. Your his husband, not his accountant.â
âSo?â
âSo leave him.â
âRunaway how could I possibly do that?â
âYou still train right?â
âYes? Why?â
âCome with me to the BOM, be my right hand again. I missed having stability.â
Lance slowly took Keith's hand, it was a comfortable silence.
âIâd like that.â
The tone, the small smile, the taunt in his eyes, the fall of his perfect curls, it sent Keith into overdrive.
Keith took Lanceâs hands intertwining their fingers and pushing him back further on the desk knocking papers off Lance not in the slightest bit phased just started breathlessly at Keith.
âTell me no.â
âYes.â
Lance leaned into Keith's lips melting together like butter. Perfection. And yet they only wanted more. Lance pulled Keith down onto him. It was hot, very hot. Sincereness was something Lance had long forgotten yet now itâs driving him wild. Keith pushed himself onto Lance who opens his mouth letting out a groan. Slipping his tongue inside Keith's mouth Lance wanted to draw out that noise, that beautiful noise heâs always dreamed of bitting and leaving a beautiful mark on Keith's collar bone was enough to retrieve that sound.
âLance-â
Keith slid his hand to Lanceâs throat kissing him so rough Lance felt like he was flying, the pressure on his neck stimulated him and all he could do was moan into Keith's mouth.
Keith let himself teasingly play eoth Lanceâs tongue before pulling away and kissing him softly on the lips. Leaving a trail of kisses to the crook of his jawline Keith declared this was his promise to Lance. Every kiss will be from love, from burning desire to cherish each and every inch of the beautiful blue boy. Lance smirked cupping Keith's face kissing him compassionately and quickly running his fingers between the strands of Keith's beautiful long locks before tugging at them and as Keith let out a moan Lance roughly made sure that Keith wasnât letting out that moan. All while grinding on one another both visibly hard. Keith softly kissed Lance all over the face and mainly on the cheek he could tell Ethan had slapped.
Keith smiled, âAm I the one Ethan was scared about?â
âHe has nothing to be scared about. He already knew he lost.â
Keith kisses Lance one last time respecting his boundaries leading him to bed. Lance begins to take off his jewelry and clothes which he had a lot to make sure he ďżźmaintained his physique.
âYou wearing Earth clothing tomorrow by the way.â
Lance smiled softly, âMay I lock the door by the way?â
âWay ahead of you I locked it when we came in.â
Lance laughed, it felt good after so long.
It was quiet Lance looked up to Keith, âDonât let me go back.â
Keith softly kissed Lance even their lips were a perfect match together, âThe only place your going back to is my base where youâll work far away from that asshole.â
Lance smiled comfy under the sheets as Keith curled up onto him, an arm wrapped around Keith the other under his head. Slowly he fell asleep. Oh boy, what a night.
âOh, youâre still so pretty.â
Midoriya knew the saying all too well. After all, it was said to him whenever his haircut came out too short or didnât look right. He knew it didnât make anything better, yet people constantly said it.
âOh, youâre still so pretty.â
In junior high, his bullies decided it would be hilarious to drench Midoriya head to toe during lunch. They carelessly picked up a bucket of what they assumed was water and threw it on Midoriya. The whole lunchroom was laughing or ignoring the show when things went south.
Midoriya started screaming, wiping his eyes, and struggling to stand.
âIt burns! It burns!â
Soon everyone realized that what Midoriya was been splashed with was not water. While the dumb bullies that pulled the prank were freaking out, others jumped into action. Bakugo had been in the lunch line and getting his food when Midoriya started screaming. Despite everyone assuming he couldnât care less, he was the one to scoop Midoriya up.
While one of the students called 119 out of fear, a couple others had been trying to get handkerchiefs and napkins to help. Bakugo forced them away and rushed Midoriya to the nurse, freaking out that Midoriya was still wailing and struggling to keep his breathing calm. The nurse explained if the chemicals were harmful enough, Midoriya needed to be stripped down and thoroughly rinsed.
The curtain was drawn and Bakugo had to help Midoriya undress and get under the shower. Midoriya tilted his head upwards, more concerned with flushing his eyes. Bakugo was huffing and puffing. He was a bully, but this kind of physical violence was horrible. Whatever chemical that was been poured on Midoriya was already showing clear effects. His skin was enflamed and bright red.
Midoriya could barely stand, getting a bit wobbly. Bakugo was doing everything in his power to support Midoriyaâs body weight and keep him stable. Bakugo also tried to help Midoriya control his breathing.
Once the ambulance arrived, Midoriya was taken off to the hospital as well as Bakugo. Bakugo only had mild pain in his arms and hands from where heâd been touching Midoriya and his clothes. He was still treated considering how bad Midoiryaâs condition was.
Midoriya left Aldrea Junior High after the incident. Aldera Junior High in return got a bad reputation after the event occurred. Many students uploaded the video causing news stations to report the crime. The Midoriya family refused to respond to the reporters trying to get details on what went down or Midoriyaâs current status.
The Bakugo family had visited Izuku many times. Inko was devastated, but beyond happy her pride and joy was alive and safe. Katsuki was still beyond pissed that his peers were so stupid and reckless. Mitsuki and Masaru kept bringing him really amazing meals in secret since the hospital food didnât really have much he liked.
Izuku had permanent scarring from the intense 2nd-degree chemical burns. While most of his body had the bucket of strong chemicals splashed on him, there were some miracle spots where there was close to no damage. Of course, there still was a lot. The majority of his body was affected due to the chemicals seeping into his clothes.
Izuku was grateful for Katsuki. If he hadnât stepped in, who knows what wouldâve happened. Everyone in that school was a coward so they probably wouldâve ran away out of the fear of being burned. Mitsuki and Inko both transferred their sons to a new school, giving them a fresh start.
Everyone left Izuku alone at the new school when people found out he was quirkless. That meant no bullies. He even made a could of âfriendsâ but he saw them more as acquaintances. Bakugo of course rose to the top for his powerful quirk and being a new kid. Midoriya hid in the crowd, doing what he had to do.
Through the rest of Junior High and into his first year at U.A. High, the phrase that once didnât hold any weight now felt like a punch to the gut.
âDonât worry, I think you're handsome.â
âYour scars look so cool!â
âThey are your battle scars!â
âThey show you survived!â
âOh, youâre still so pretty.â
Izuku hated people bringing up his scars just to tell him that it wasnât too bad. It didnât change anything. It didn't make his scars magically disappear. It didnât change how he felt about his scars or what happened to him. It didnât make him feel any better. If anything it made him feel worse.
The constant reminder of what Midoriya now had to deal with and that he was considered "flawed" to a certain extent was counterproductive. Why would a person point out what makes Midoriya different only to try and explain how he wasn't different? It was unnecessary and cruel to a degree. Constantly bringing up a topic and memory he didnât want to always think about soon made Midoriya turn cold the moment people even started talking about appearance or whenever someone started their usual ramble.
Midoriya's arms were now littered with scars from using his quirk and he found some comfort in them. He may not have wanted them, but they stemmed from a place he could look back at fondly. His fingers were bent and scared from the sports festival when he helped Todoroki. His large and bright purple scar from fighting Muscular and saving Koota. Still, someone always found a way to bring up his chemical burns.
Whenever the dorms were built and the interviewer came to write a report, he took an interest in Midoriya. Not only because of his close relationship with All Might, but because of his past. After talking to the boy about it, Midoriya agreed to do a really small interview.
Soon after the man left and the article came to life, many were surprised to find out about Midoriya getting a personal interview. When the class all read through his experience and recovery journey, they stilled at one small section.
âI get so frustrated because rather than having a normal conversation with me, everyone brings up my scars. They point them out or make a comment only to immediately tell me something to try and make me feel better about a topic they brought up.â
âOh? So itâs bugging you that people only see you for your scars. I understand how that may be frustrating, especially if they are one bringing up something youâd prefer to keep in the past,â agreed the reporter.
âYes. It doesnât do anything for me. It doesnât make me feel better. It doesnât erase what happened to me. It doesnât change the fact Iâd rather not have these burns all over my body. People donât understand that âoh you're still so prettyâ is a meaningless consolation. Just donât mention my scars and Iâll be satisfied. They don't realize their "validation" is just them letting me know that all they see when they look at me is my scars.â
âPreach kid. I hope that your message will help remind people to be conscious of what they say to others who are experiencing something similar to you. Also, Iâm sure everyone will be happy to hear youâre safe and healthy; Even though Iâm sure everyone already knows you are doing well after seeing your performance at the sports festival.â
âIâm honestly doubtful. The sports festival is such a thrilling event! Everyone that participated was so hardworking to show their worth and had such amazing quirks! Something that happened years in the past wasnât the focus,â rambled Midoriya, trying to deny his importance.
âYou got me there kid. You and your classmates sure have gone through a lot since then,â noted the reporter.
âWe sure have. Iâm very proud of them and Iâm so grateful for the friends Iâve made. Theyâre incredible and I hope that the world can see that,â declared Midoriya, clearly passionate about lifting up his classmates.
U.A. staff and students found themselves reading the article and being surprised. They didn't know Midoriyaâs injury had been a big topic in the past. While they didnât recall hearing about it, they probably had seen something about it before. It was easy to find. All you had to do was search up Midoriyaâs name and it was all you saw.
News article after news article. News reports after news reports. Gossip channels posted video after video. The clip of Midoriya being assaulted was easy to find as well. So almost everyone watched as their close friend, student, or peer was drenched in chemicals. His screams would haunt them. Fortunately, some of the videos showed Bakugo running over revealing he had been the one to help.
Nonetheless, Midoriya made it very clear he did want people to form an opinion of him based on his appearance. He didnât want pity. He made it very clear he didnât want it brought up at all. They had all been meaninglessly consoling him on something he didnât need to be consoled for. If anything it was a backhanded compliment at best.
They had been bringing up a topic that made Midoriya feel uncomfortable. They did all of that just to try and make him feel better about something he didnât need to feel better about. Not once had they thought of how it would affect Midoriya. They had good intentions, but they shouldâve minded their business unless he brought it up. They overstepped his boundaries and they felt beyond guilty about it.
Uraraka, Kirishima, Iida, Mina, Sato, Kaminari, Sero, and Ojiro were most guilty. Shoji, Tokoyami, and Kota knew better than to bring it up. Their situations were completely different considering their body alterations were from their quirk, but they still were very aware of how they felt when their mutations were brought up. They knew how painful hearing that mindless consolation was.
Aoyama, Tsuyu, Jiro, Hagakure, and Mineta had only ever consoled Midoriya when someone else around them had brought attention to it. They didnât see where it was their business to bring it up, but then they felt obligated to say something when it was brought up. Momo on the other hand never once discussed it. She had noticed the scars, but just like how she was with Todoroki, she just kinda ignored them afterward. It was just how Midoriya looked. It didnât warrant her input.
Todoroki and Midoriya had actually talked about their scars in private. Todorokiâs came from abuse. Midoriyaâs came from bullying. They found a lot of peace from talking to someone else who'd gotten their scar in a similar situation. While the situation wasnât able to be compared, not like it should be, they were still violent in nature. Todorokiâs mom gave him a freeze burn in an attempt to fix her pouring boiling water on his face. Midoriyaâs bullies were stupid and didnât think to make sure the bucket they grabbed was filled with water. No matter what lead to them being hurt, they still came out with scars.
Bakugo came to Midoriyaâs dorm later to discuss what he said in the newspaper. He was irritated to find out that no one saw an issue in pointing out something that could possibly trigger Midoriya. After all, the scars clearly came from a traumatic experience and even the mention of the scars could make him relieve it.
Midoriya ranted a bit, getting worked up once thinking about it critically. The way Bakugo phrased things really put everyoneâs behavior at face value. Bakugo enjoyed watching Midoriya get angry. Midoriya finally was doing something for himself; which was getting angry on his own behalf.
Midoriya received a lot of apologies. He wasnât petty like Bakugo, so he accepted everyoneâs apologies. All that mattered to him was that they learned their lesson and he wouldnât have to hear them bring up his scars again.
Besides, he didn't need their pity or words of affirmation to know he was still beautiful. His scars had him look badass.
