Watching Some Classic Fandom Blog Names Come Out Of The Woodworks When The Flames Crank Up Again Is Like

Watching some classic fandom blog names come out of the woodworks when the flames crank up again is like watching vampires waking up after hibernating for centuries.

i am. a MESS. these two idiots mean so much to each other and to all of us, and i loved watching them talk about it so openly and honestly. they’re not perfect but they’re perfect for what they do.

And then there’s me:

She looked like sunlight on the water, warm and cold at the same time, eyes like whiskey and hair like ice, a too-soft cardigan over a Metallica t-shirt and ink all over her fingers when she reached for the book in my hand. When she spoke, it was like listening to the ice crack under your feet as you slip through to the freezing depths, or the first chord in a rock song shredded out on the steel strings of an electric guitar.

“Please let go of my book. You’re gonna rip it.”

Mini Theory/Observation

So we all know Mark’s profile pictures have been blacking out, right? And today, we lost YouTube to the darkness.

Mini Theory/Observation

But some eagle eyed fans decided to investigate this pic, and they found:

Mini Theory/Observation

That there’s a face, and in some of the better image brightening/inversions, people noticed

Mini Theory/Observation

That face is this image. Mark’s old profile picture, from his original channel.

So what’s the significance here? I can only guess that it means that we’re going to see something/someone that’s classically Mark. Maybe it’s another hint at old horror games being the theme, like in the latest photo.

I like to think that sometimes dark will get these twangs of guilt or regret and he can never work out why, but there’s a reason he’s never got rid of that cracked mirror in his office. Or maybe he is just as broken as Wilford except wilfords response to being torn apart was to just spiral into it while dark tried to fight back and regain agency over himself? Like that’s why he’s so determined to get revenge, he’s just as hurt by wkm as wilf, he’s just dealing with it differently

I think Dark retains all the memories of WKM, and all of Damien’s memories, but the person/people that he was are forever changed (but maybe not completely gone), and that the dark entity that powers him led him to a different kind of insanity, one that’s hyper-focused and obsessive rather than sporadic and hyperactive and stereotypically “mad”.

i love this as a theory! it makes a lot of sense, too. i like the idea that he didn’t intend to blend all of these stories, and that there was supposed to be a linear way to go through, but everything got jumbled together.

I WAS ABOUT TO FALL ASLEEP BUT I JUST HAD A REVELATION

WHAT IF THE REASON WHY EVERYTIME A NEW EGO APPEARS IN THE HEIST, HEIST MARK HAS TO DIE SO ACTOR CAN SWAP ROLES--

He is, an actor after all. Considering that we've already pretty much gotten confirmation on the Markiplier = Actor Mark theory, and Mark does all the other characters himself irl, who says that Actor can't????

On top of that, this only happens in AHWM. In WKM, of course none of the characters have to spontaneously die in order for another to appear. In their original reality, they were seperate people.

But in AHWM, if this is TRULY Actor's game, it's possible this is the only way how to portray different characters and still be the "main character" or center of attention.

(i mean, he might, but its almost 3am im not gonna check, if i contradict anything canon pls tell me)

Another possible explaination is when all the timelines got messed up due to the artifact, all of Actor's stories, in whatevrr strange house wousey upside down he makes them in-- where of course, he plays the lead get intertwined?

A pirate who sails the sea for treasure, A noble heartbreaker adventurer, a remorseful prisoner

These are all stories that more or less focus on ONE Person. One person and the things they do.

And adding onto that, Dark and Wilford don't chase off Actor in some way. Dark simply transitions to a hallway after Actor just, vanishes

and Wilford shows up after you rewind.

Will update in a couple hours, apologies if this is bad or incoherent or stretching it, i am tired and gay and its very late i should be sleep i might do that rn thank u byeee

Could you maybe pretty please write even like a short idea on how you think corroded crank would realise they like somebody romantically and how they would deal with finding out their feelings were reciprocated?

Ohhh, interesting! I haven’t thought about CC in ages, I’m glad you brought him up. :)

(I’m going with him IDing as male because he’s modeled after Ethan, in the same way that Google IDs as male because he’s modeled after Mark, just so you get my reasoning there.)

I think Corroded Crank would be confused at first, because he doesn’t think he’s capable of attraction. He’d probably go to Google to ask about it, and Google would explain that androids are generally programmed to replicate and imitate human emotion in order to blend in to society more fully.

He’d probably be attracted to someone who’s kind to him, because he’s so unused to that, being under Dark’s control. He’d like someone who’s clever and witty, and doesn’t mind that he’s broken. Someone who isn’t scared of him when he breaks further or his programming malfunctions and he becomes dangerous. But I think he’d be terrified, because he wouldn’t want to hurt them. He’d probably end up pushing them away, trying to protect them.

When he found out that they liked him back, I think he’d be shocked. He’d ask them why they liked something like him, he wouldn’t understand. He would think that because he’s not human, no human should like him in that way, or in any way at all. But that person would probably tell him that he’s close enough to human, and just as nice as any human could be. He’s a person in all the ways that count.

I think that would be the day he discovers that not only can he feel, but he can cry, oil leaking from his eyes in a slightly disturbing but overall endearing display.

This is giving me one shot ideas hmmmmm.

Thoughts about the WAIA

Honestly I would love to do more theorizing surrounding the WAIA but there’s not a lot of theorizing to do.

It’s pretty out in the open. I don’t think the FNAF connection is super lore-steeped; I think it’s just Mark poking fun at his King of FNAF status. What I do think is lore-steeped is the WAIA’s responses, which are super on-the-nose but not in an overbearing way. This is direct storytelling done right, and I think that Mark is extremely talented to be able to pull it off.

HUGE SPOILER WARNING FOR THE REST OF THIS POST.

In the “He said...potato salad?” video, the WAIA says:

“A man goes to a party. This man met an old friend. The two friends share some wine. The two friends played a game. The most dangerous game. I didn’t know the gun was loaded. I didn’t know.

Was it my fault? Was it?”

This got me so hard the first time I played through, and I picked “No.” I picked “No” because in my mind, Wil is not at fault for Actor Mark’s crimes. Wil is the victim of cruel manipulation and the entity in the House; he didn’t make a decision to kill Actor Mark. He wanted so badly to reconcile that he was willing to play “the most dangerous game” to get him back. And when it all went wrong, he couldn’t bear it.

What got me more than anything was the dialogue in “No.” :

“You can’t change the past. You can tell all the stories you want to tell; it won’t change what happened. You can’t rewrite the past; if you live in fantasy forever, you’ll lose yourself in the story.”

This just about made me cry, and when Wilf’s voiceover mentions that “he’s a perfect scan of my noggin,” it made it worse.

This is Wil’s thoughts untethered from the influence of the House and the breaks in time and space he continues to experience. This is Wil, as close to sane as he can get, and he’s just...accepting.

He knows he can’t change anything, and that becoming Wilford Warfstache, telling Wilford Warfstache’s story instead of his own, can’t fix it and instead means he’s slowly losing William Barnum.

Or maybe that he’s already lost him.

The newest Anti fun!

So! DDLC is going well! *cue panicking*

I’ve got a funny feeling this Anti appearance is going to go differently than the others we’ve witnessed, in that I think we’ll get more direct interaction between Jack and Anti, Jekyll and Hyde style. Anti’s using the game’s already fourth wall breaking mechanics to get to us, by breaking the wall between us and Jack: he’s talking about YouTube directly. Or, Jack is, anyway. Which seems suspicious to me. He’s telling us to go frame by frame, find things, keep watching. Now, lots of other theorists have already covered the fact that there’ve been hints to the next victim the whole time, hints to the doctor, hints toward Chase maybe, or Jackieboy. So what’re the hints we’re getting from Doki Doki?

The breaks are directed at a player (either Jack or us). They are made by two different entities: Monika/The Game Maker and Sayori/The Hostage(s). This can mean one of two things: either Anti is making up the rules of this game we play, and trying to start us back at the beginning of the cycle (”circles” comment, link to SL at the end of the video, small glitches and next to no vocals today, etc.); or, Anti is the one trapped, or being erased (the lines he glitched over, about forgetting or erasing someone). Or, possibly, he’s playing both parts. He’s pissed at Jack for forgetting about him, trying to erase him, and he’s pissed at us for being against him every time he returns.

I’m really interested in seeing where this goes next.

Leather.

Pairing: 9/Rose, 10/Rose

Rating: G

He found it while cleaning up. Just busying himself while Rose was asleep, really, tidying the wardrobe room. Which of course the TARDIS hated, he was taking things out of the nice order she'd put them in, but he loved it! He'd forget how much brilliant stuff was in there if he never cleaned up. So this was something he did while Rose was out for hours and hours.

And he'd find things like his jacket.

His leather jacket.

Oh, the memories he had of this thing. He held it up to his nose and smiled as the strangely still familiar scent hit him. Old leather, his old cologne, bananas...

This was the jacket he'd worn coming out of the War. If he tried hard enough, he was sure he'd find bloodstains on it. He wasn't going to try. This was the jacket he'd grieved in, he'd roamed in, homeless, for years and years. This was the jacket that said, "Keep away!" if the rough accent and tough, if daft, old face didn't scare you off first.

This was the jacket he'd met Rose in. This was the jacket she'd clung to and hugged tight and slapped when he was being stupid. This was the jacket she'd given a new meaning to, the old traveler's jacket instead of the warding he'd worn. This was the jacket that'd kept her warm on several occasions, that'd been used as a seat for picnics on bright hillsides all over the universe, that'd been their umbrella in blue rain and a shield from the wind and shimmering sand of some planet he'd long forgotten the name of.

This was the jacket that still felt like the Vortex, just a little bit, and still smelled a little bit like smoke, and Hypervodka, and Slitheen slime, and the perfume in Satellite Five's game rooms.

This jacket didn't fit him now. And he didn't mean physically, though of course it didn't fit him physically either. But it did fit someone.

He wandered up to Rose's door, and held up a hand to knock, still looking at the jacket. Deciding against it, he simply folded it and set it outside, then reached into his pocket, drew out a notepad and a pen, and scribbled something before ripping it off and setting it in the pocket. He put away the notepad, straightened his jacket and tie, and meandered off down the hall, whistling an old song he'd danced to once.

Rose found the jacket a few hours later, and read, through slightly teary eyes,

For those planets with a North. Let's see them all.
