In which Dalilah gets hate and David finds out

3rd pov

Dalilah had finished her week's project and turned it in for review before she was hit with hate. The fans from the squad had been giving her hate for being close with David, though not all of them. Once the clip of them dancing went up it went down hill for her.

She had kept herself in her room all day, phone off. The comments, the dms, the tweets were all too much for her. It made it worse that she actually did like David and knowing they didn't want them together.

She was facing the wall and silently crying as the comments replayed in her head. shes not even pretty. why would he even touch her? She's so ugly. Liza was so much better. He deserves better. The 22 year old had been crying for what seemed like hours when someone knocked, "Dalia? You okay?" She quickly wiped her face and cleared her throat, "not feeling well." Her best friend seemed to buy it as she didn't question it and walked away.

The sad girl waited until she couldn't hear any commotion before going to the bathroom to shower. She got dressed in a random night set and brushed her hair before quietly going to the kitchen. She had made her a sandwich and grabbed some chips and went to go back to the fridge for some water when she bumped into someone. Her eyes met David's before she looked away and mumbled a small 'hi'. He seemed to figure something was wrong because the first thing he said was, "what's wrong?" Shaking her head she walked around him to the fridge, "nothing."

David scoffed and furrowed his brows, "Dalilah I know you, something's wrong." The younger girl, by a year, sighed, "it's nothing okay? Just... just drop it," she said lightly, David barely hearing the end. He took the water bottle and placed it near her plate before tilting her chin to look at him, "what's wrong? I'm not gonna drop it till you tell me."

Her eyes began to tear up again and she took a shakie breath and pulled away, closing her eyes. He watched as she seemed to take a few seconds before grabbing her food, "check your comments," she mumbled again before walking to her room.

The next day Dalilah was listening to sad music. Just to get the sadness out was her excuse. She had been in her room all day, knowing everyone was here. Natalie checked up on her and brought food but never asked questions. That's what she loved about her, she was always there but never asked questions knowing when she was ready to talk she'd talk.

About half way through the day her phone blinged and a YouTube notification popped up. She immediately clicked it as it was David's.

We need to talk...

Her heart dropped as he went on rant. "Look guys, I love all of you but spreading hate is terrible. No one should be hating on someone. If you guys actually love and support me you'd understand that I have the right to like and be with someone who isn't Liza. Daliliah's amazing, she's sweet, kind, beautiful- you should be sending positive things. I'm not saying we're together but if we were you shouldn't hate something that makes me happy you should support it."

Her eyes teared up and she smiled for the first time in two days. Fixing her hair she made her way to the commotion in the living room. Her eyes met David's, who was standing in the middle of the room planning a skit, and she ran to him throwing her arms around his neck making him wrap around her waist. A quiet 'thank you' left her lips making him squeeze gently. "Always."

That's when the Vlog Squad knew they had to get them together, and Natalie had a plan.

Honest to god why is no-one on this website talking about ‘Emo the Musical’ like that film is gold and no-one can tell me otherwise. Like Peters lover checks into a gay correction clinic/hospital at the end cause they love eachother so much and like that, my friends, is a real OTP.

Why ya need to shut up about "shitty fanfic"

Do you know all those posts out here about being supportive of young artists and being careful with how you talk to them about their art? Or just appreciating fanart in general and not being a total asshole?

That doesn’t exist for fanfic writers.

I am so freaking tired of seeing posts talking about “what a pain it is to rake through shitty fanfic” and memes about “shitty fanfic existing in abundance” , “shitty fanfic being the only fics that update regularly”, “popular pairings having a ton of fanfic but only a few good ones”, and all this crappy attitude towards fanfics that may not be that eloquent or fandom famous.

Don’t be an asshole. Everyone needs to start somewhere. Maybe in a few years these writers will improve and make much better fanfic. Even if they don’t, they are doing something they love and should not be freaking criticized for it. Keep your ranting and opinions about “shitty fanfic” to yourself. You’re making a majority of fanfic writers feel self-conscious, unmotivated, and even more unappreciated.

Days like ‘fanfic writer appreciation day’ are super nice, but ultimately fall short unless we fix this horrid attitude fandoms have towards fanfic.
