what people think is hard about writing: describing the joy, love, beauty, grief, loss and hope that form the richness of human experience
what is actually hard about writing: describing basic actions such as turning, leaning over, reclining, gesturing, saying something in a quiet voice, breathing, getting up from chairs, and walking across rooms

The Big O - Directed by 片山 一良 Katayama Kazuyoshi
1999
#13 :
Storyboard : 片山 一良 Katayama Kazuyoshi
Episode Director : 佐藤育郎 Ikurou Satou
The atmosphere of this episode was phenomenal, it almost felt like a stand-alone episode. A series of murders, investigation, pursuit of the truth, a main character nearly tormented, driving alone through the city. One of the best episodes I’ve ever seen.

Three ships: The Going Merry, the Thousand Sunny, and -- kidding. Any time someone asks me this I forget everything I'm into but I am very fond of Lae'zel / Shadowheart lately, and some OC ships.
First ever ship: I don't remember? It might've been Zack / Cloud actually and that was mostly based on ship art because I didn't have a way of actually interacting with FF7 for years
Last song: I think it might have been From a Place of Love by Mili? I really haven't forgiven Project Moon but the moment this song plays is so insane that I was trying to find it again --
Last Movie: I haven't actually watched a movie in a few weeks - I think it might've still been Train to Busan actually ...
Currently reading: Listening to the audiobook of The Final Empire and losing my mind over how good it is. There's thought! There's emotionally resonant scenes! My friends who got into this stuff before me are amused by my suffering (that's a joke).
Currently watching: Pluto (need to finish, I've got one ep left), Paradox Live, and Undead Unluck. Planning to start the Scott Pilgrim anime soon, and there's some KDramas I've been wanting to check out, too.
Currently consuming: Black coffee...
Currently craving: Salt and vinegar or just like, anything with a really strong flavor honestly. People who are aware of the Hell Ramen Incident DO NOT interact--
Tagging: If you see this, you're tagged! Good luck!! ll
I like games like this but I hope no one's like "aw man, this guy's just spamming random stuff instead of posting art, why am I even here?" help -- still alive, still on hiatus.
If terror is the feeling of dread and apprehension at the possibility of something frightening and horror is the shock and repulsion of seeing the frightening thing, name a time your character has been terrified and a time they were horrified. How did they deal with these emotions? Was the terror, for example, unfounded, or the horror too much?
A time your character was terrified
I make a lot of "Sena's dead boyfriend" jokes, but the moments leading up to that were pretty much exclusively this. He doesn't know where his friend went, anticipates the worst, and then something he's been scared of up to that point actually happens.
For things that happen in-story, he has a few of these, but being left alone in Ultima Thule really freaks him out.
More under the cut! Contains full spoilers for Endwalker.
A time they were horrified
THIS ONE WAS ACTUALLY SUPER HARD TO ANSWER.
I want to say the massacre early in ARR, which got to him pretty bad; he starts to come out of being an "I only care about this one person" type edgelord, he starts getting along more with people, and then those people die and he goes right back to that.
Also slightly unusual one, but the combination of dragoon and having issues with his scales makes the conversation with Vrtra deeply unpleasant for him in a way that isn't quite horror, but comes close.
How did they deal with these emotions? Was the terror, for example, unfounded, or the horror too much?
Sena tends to deal with his negative emotions in general by covering them with anger and then not actually dealing with them, but even moreso when he's scared. Him wanting to be strong is an extension of this; he wants to protect his friends, but also, if he can fight it, he has agency in the situation.
Complete silence stops him in his tracks, though.

K - Know It All - Are they a Know-it-All? Do they actively seek out new knowledge? How do they behave around others how have a great amount of knowledge on a topic?
Sena isn’t in the traditional sense, but I think there’s a lot of overlap between his cynical worldview and him thinking “I know more than you!”
Even pre-ARR, he thinks that most people are bad, which is something that gets reinforced pretty regularly. But for more concrete, specific topics…
He does want to get stronger to protect the handful of people he actually cares about, and actively pursued that! But him being so cynical sabotages his progress - he doesn’t always want help, which he equates with helplessness, and he doesn’t trust that many people, which means finding someone else to teach him things can be super hard.
He thinks people with greater academic knowledge are just nerds, though.
