The summer heat was unforgiving. The kind of heat that made the pavement too hot to walk on barefoot, that made every movement feel sluggish, that made the idea of being anywhere but inside with a fan blasting seem ridiculous.
But Wally had insisted they go for ice cream.
“Nothing beats a hot day like a triple scoop,” he’d declared, dragging her toward the tiny stand near the edge of town.
Y/N had wisely gone with a single scoop—chocolate chip in a waffle cone. Simple. Classic. Manageable.
Wally, however, had other ideas.
“Go big or go home,” he’d said, ordering three scoops stacked high on a sugar cone—chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. A monstrosity.
And now? Now it was betraying him.
“Damn it,” he muttered, frantically licking at the trails of ice cream melting down his fingers.
Y/N watched, barely containing her laughter. “I told you.”
“I had it under control,” he argued, tilting his cone to try and save what was left.
“You absolutely did not.”
She pulled a napkin from the dispenser and held it out to him. “Here. Before you turn into a human sundae.”
He took it with a smirk. “Too late.”
She shook her head, watching as he wiped at his hands, but the paper napkin wasn’t doing much against the sticky mess. He was covered—chocolate smeared along his palm, vanilla dripping down his wrist, strawberry already soaking into the cuff of his shirt.
“You’re hopeless,” she teased, reaching for more napkins.
“Oh, come on, it’s not that bad.”
“Wally, your entire arm is melting.”
He grinned, holding it up. “Think I could convince people I’m bleeding?”
“Only if they’re legally blind.”
She handed him another wad of napkins, shaking her head as he attempted to clean himself up.
The heat pressed down around them, cicadas buzzing in the distance, the scent of waffle cones and sugar thick in the air. It was the kind of summer day that felt endless, stretching lazily into the afternoon, the kind where time didn’t really matter.
And somehow, watching Wally lose an absolute battle with his ice cream made it even better.
“Okay,” he finally admitted, after struggling for a full minute, “this might’ve been a bad idea.”
“Oh wow,” she gasped, placing a hand over her heart. “The great Wally Clark admitting he was wrong?”
“Don’t get used to it.”
She laughed, shaking her head. Then, without thinking, she reached out and wiped a smudge of chocolate from the corner of his mouth with her thumb.
It was an instinctive, automatic movement, the kind she wouldn’t have even thought twice about—if it weren’t for the way Wally froze.
Her hand hovered for half a second too long, her thumb brushing his skin.
His eyes flicked up to hers, something unreadable behind them.
The air felt different.
She swallowed, suddenly very aware of how close they were standing. Of how the heat wasn’t just from the sun anymore.
And then—
“Clark!”
The moment shattered as one of Wally’s football teammates called from across the lot.
Wally exhaled, stepping back. “Yeah?”
“We’re heading to the field. You coming?”
Wally hesitated, glancing back at Y/N. “Uh—”
“Go,” she said quickly, forcing a smile. “I’ll see you later.”
He nodded, a flicker of something in his expression before he jogged off to join them.
Y/N watched him go, her fingers still tingling where they’d touched his face.
And if she spent the rest of the afternoon wondering what might’ve happened if they hadn’t been interrupted…
Well.
That was her business.

Announcer on PA: "He's got the ball. Wally Clark, down the field. He's at the 40, he's at the 30."
The stadium was electric, the crowd roaring as the final moments of the homecoming game played out under the bright Friday night lights. I sat in the stands, bundled in Wally’s varsity jacket, my heart pounding with excitement and nerves. This was his night—his chance to shine. I could already picture him grinning ear to ear afterward, sweeping me up in a post-game hug, the way he always did.
Then it happened.
Announcer: "Clark takes a big hit. He is down."
The hit came out of nowhere. One second, Wally was sprinting down the field, and the next, a player blindsided him with a brutal tackle. I watched, breathless, as his body lifted off the ground, flipping unnaturally in the air. The sickening crack echoed through the stadium as he landed hard on the turf, his head snapping at an awful angle. The crowd fell eerily silent.
My stomach dropped. Announcer: "This doesn't look good for Wally Clark."
“Get up, Wally,” I whispered, gripping the edge of my seat, willing him to move. To even twitch. But he didn’t. The players around him hesitated before frantically waving for help. Coaches and medics rushed the field, but he just lay there, still, too still. A cold dread settled over me, crawling up my spine.
This wasn’t like the other times he’d been hit. This was different.
Somewhere in the distance, I heard a voice yelling his name. It took me a second to realize it was mine...
~ ☆ ♡ ° ~ ☆ ♡ ° ~ ☆ ♡ ° ~ ☆ ♡ ° ~
The days after felt like a blur. A never-ending, suffocating blur. The hospital waiting room, the murmured apologies from doctors, the way his mother collapsed into sobs when they told us he was gone.
It felt unreal, like some kind of cruel joke.
Because how could Wally be gone? He was just here. Just laughing with me, just kissing me goodbye before the game, just promising me we'd go to the lake this weekend.
But he wasn’t here anymore. He never would be again.
I don’t remember much about the funeral. Just the weight in my chest, the way the world felt too bright for a day so dark.
People kept talking about him like he was a memory, but I couldn't accept that.
He wasn’t just a memory. He was still mine. My Wally. I stopped going to football games. Couldn’t even look at the field. Every time I walked past it, I swore I could still hear the echo of that hit, the way the crowd gasped, the way my heart broke in real time.
I needed somewhere to go, somewhere that felt like him.
That’s how I met Mr. Daniels, the janitor. He saw me wandering the halls after school one day, lingering in places I shouldn’t be. I expected him to scold me, to tell me to go home, but instead, he just asked, "Looking for somewhere quiet?" I nodded, and after a moment, he motioned for me to follow. He led me to an old storage room near the back of the school, long forgotten and covered in dust. "Nobody uses this place anymore," he said, tossing me a key. "Clean it up if you want. Just don’t tell anyone."
So I did. I spent hours there, sweeping the dust away, hanging up old pictures of Wally from my locker, draping his jacket over the back of a rickety chair.
It wasn’t much, but it was his. And being there, surrounded by the echoes of our time together, made me feel like I wasn’t completely alone.
One day, while sitting in that room, I let myself remember. Really remember. The way Wally smiled when he was nervous. The way his laugh sounded when he was truly happy. And, finally, the way he looked just before it all went wrong.
The scar of that night never left me. I replayed it over and over, but deep down, I knew what happened.
One night, sitting there alone, I whispered to the empty space, "I miss you, Wally." And though the room was silent, though I would never see his face again, I swore I could feel something—just the faintest hint of warmth, like he was still with me in some way. I still dream about him.
Sometimes, I wake up thinking I hear his voice, feel his arms around me. But when I open my eyes, the room is empty. Still, I know the truth.
He’s not lost. Not really. As long as I remember him, as long as I keep this small piece of him close, he’ll always be here. And maybe, just maybe, one day, I’ll see him again.

Practice had run late, and he’d spent the last twenty minutes speeding across town to get to Y/N’s house, his heart pounding with a mixture of excitement and nerves.
Because tonight, he was going to tell her.
Not just I love you—he’d said that plenty of times.
But I see forever with you, and he was going to show that with a promise ring.
They’d been together for over a year now, and it wasn’t always easy, but she was his person. She made everything better.
So when he pulled up outside her house and saw her sitting on the front steps, arms wrapped around herself, something in his chest tightened.
Something was wrong.
He barely had time to process it before she lifted her head, and the look in her eyes made his stomach drop.
Because it wasn’t just sadness.
It was betrayal.
“What the hell, Wally?” she asked, her voice sharp and cold in a way he had never heard before.
His heart started pounding. “What—what’s going on?”
She let out a bitter laugh. “Seriously? You’re really gonna stand there and act like you don’t know?”
“Y/N, I don’t—”
“I saw you, Wally.”
His blood turned to ice. “Saw me what?”
She shook her head, looking away like she couldn’t even stand to look at him. “With her.”
Her?
His mind raced, scrambling to figure out what the hell she was talking about.
Then—realization hit.
Oh, no. No, no, no.
“Wait—Y/N, if you’re talking about that girl outside the diner—”
“I saw you, Wally,” she repeated, voice breaking. “You had your hands all over her. She was all over you.”
His chest clenched. “It wasn’t what it looked like!”
“Oh, really?” she snapped. “Because it looked like my boyfriend was getting real close with some other girl while I was sitting at home thinking about him.”
He took a step closer, reaching for her hands, but she pulled away like he’d burned her.
“Y/N, please,” he begged. “I was helping her. She’s Scott’s cousin—she got into a fight with her boyfriend, and she was crying. I was just—she just needed someone to talk to.”
Y/N let out a breath, and for a second, he thought maybe—maybe—she was listening.
Then she shook her head. “I don’t believe you.”
His heart stopped.
“Are you serious?”
She swallowed hard, eyes glistening under the dim porch light. “I don’t—” She broke off, pressing her lips together. “I can’t.”
His throat felt tight. “Y/N, you know me. You know I would never do that to you.”
She looked away, arms wrapping tighter around herself. “I thought I did.”
The words cut through him like a knife.
He took a shaky breath, trying to hold himself together. “So what? That’s it?”
She blinked rapidly, like she was trying not to cry. “I can't do this anymore, Wally.”
He physically flinched.
“Baby, please.” His voice cracked, and he didn’t care. “You’re everything to me. Don’t do this. I love you.”
She inhaled sharply, shaking her head. “I can’t.”
And just like that, it was over.
She turned, walked up the steps, and disappeared inside, leaving him standing there in the cold.
Wally didn’t know how long he stood there, staring at the closed door, waiting for it to open again.
But it never did.
And for the first time in his life, he had no idea how to fix it.

A - Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
This man FOR SURE is an aftercare king! He makes sure his partner is cleaned up, hydrated, and well cared for. I feel like he's definitely the type of man to run a bath for his partner if he was a little rough, or just in general.
B - Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
Wally is a big boy, so I feel like his favorite part of HIS body would be his hands. Being able to hold his partner close to him is a must for intercourse. He 100% uses those fingers to his advantage. 🤭
C - Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
Let's get one thing straight. Wally may have been an 80s jock and a bully, but he treats his lady RIGHT. He is not cumming anywhere but inside her, condom or not. With her permission, of course. He would never disrespect his lady by painting her with his cum like a common whore. #gentleman
D - Dirty secret (pretty self-explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
I don't think he has any, to be honest. I feel like he'd be very open and honest with his partner about what he likes/ is willing to do.
E - Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
This man has been dead for 40 years... He's got experience. For those saying, "Well, he hasn't had anyone to practice with," the man probably found a way to fulfill his needs.
F - Favorite position (this goes without saying)
Missionary. Easy. Wally is a sensitive, romantic soul. He loves and craves intimacy, which missionary gives. He's the type of person to look into his partners eyes as they reach climax.
G - Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
Goofy, he's a silly goofy boy. It's a very intimate act, so he'll try and lighten the mood if it's your first time to make you more comfortable.
H - Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
He's got a little stubble. C'mon, guys, he's been stuck in school for 40 years. There's not much to work with. But he does try his best to keep it well managed.
I - Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
Like I said before, this man is a GENTLEMAN. He will not cum before you, and will make sure you cum at least twice before he does. He will definitely hold you as close to him as possible when he cums. Giving kisses to your body as you come down from your high, and giving encouraging words/praise the whole time.
J - Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
He's been trapped in high school for 40 years. There's no way that someone hasn't caught him "relieving himself" at some point. He'll definitely jack off to a polaroid of you.
K - Kink (one or more of their kinks)
Overstimulation. He loves to make his partner cum multiple times. It gives him a sense of accomplishment and pride that he made his partner feel so good.
L - Location (favorite places to do the do)
Wally is not picky. He will take you anywhere you let him. The gym, the football field, the cafeteria, the hallway during passing period. If you say yes, this man is taking FULL advantage of that consent.
M - Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
Anything and everything. This man LOVES you with all his heart. Anything you do turns him on. If you even breathe the same air as him, he gets hard.
N - No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
I think the only thing that he wouldn't do would be anything that disrespects or hurts his partner.
O - Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
He likes giving and receiving, but he prefers giving. He loves to feel the way his partner shakes and loves hearing their whines as he makes them cum.
P - Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
He'll go at whatever pace you ask, but if he's in a particular mood, girl, you better hold tf on because he's gonna take you to pound town.
Q - Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
Yes. The answer is yes. He will take you anywhere any chance he can get it. He loves to be intimate with his partner, mostly to let everyone know that they belong to him.
R - Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
He usually likes to keep it simple, but if you ask him, I'm sure he won't mind trying something new. He would definitely take the risk of a pregnancy just to feel himself filling you up and marking you in a primal way that only HE can.
S - Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
Oh honey, this man can go forever. That man is a big boy athlete and can go on, and on, and on, WELL after you've finished.
T - Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
He'd probably use a vibrator on his partners clit while he ruts deep into them, maximizing their pleasure and his. He loves to hear the whimpers that you'd make, it just eggs him on even more.
U - Unfair (how much they like to tease)
Oh, he's a tease. Wally will edge you until you BEG for him to make you cum, drawing out your pleasure just to make you fucking EXPLODE. And he'll do it with a smile on his face.
V - Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
Loud. Loud Asf. He wants the world to know how good you make him feel, and he'll let you know, too. He'll tell you things like, "fuckk, you're doing so good, baby." "Keep going, just like that," and so on.
W - Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
Your first time with him is very romantic, he's got a bed set up, there's flowers and music, the whole package. There's nothing he won't do to make you feel comfortable.
X - X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
Big boy. Big, big boy. I'm saying like 7-8 inches. He's both a grower AND a shower. He's 6 inches soft, which you can tell from the scenes with him wearing sweatpants.
Y - Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Like I said before, if he's horny, he'll let you know. And then he'll go until you tell him to stop. Wally LOVES you and is NOT afraid to let anyone and everyone know.
Z - Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
It depends on how long you let him go for, but he'll usually hold you close to him and rub your back until you fall asleep. He's a protector, so he won't sleep until he knows you're safe.

4th of July with Wally
Star-crossed lovers Masterlist
~ ☆ ♡ ° ~ ☆ ♡ ° ~ ☆ ♡ ° ~ ☆ ♡ ° ~
Summer in 1981 felt endless, the kind of season that stretched out warm and golden, like it might never fade. Wally Clark had spent most of it with Y/N, which, if anyone had asked him back in spring, he wouldn’t have expected.
Not that he didn’t like her—he really liked her—but they’d just been friends before. Friends who talked in class, friends who teased each other in the halls. But something had shifted after freshman year ended. She had shown up at the arcade one day when he was there, and they’d played a few rounds of Pac-Man. Then, they ran into each other at the diner the next week and ended up sitting together.
And then, somehow, “hanging out” had turned into every single day.
Tonight was the Fourth of July. Half the town was gathered at the park for fireworks, sprawled on blankets and lawn chairs, waiting for the show. Wally and Y/N had claimed a spot near the back of the field, lying side by side on the grass, looking up at the sky.
“Bet they start late,” she muttered, arms crossed behind her head.
“Always do,” he agreed.
The grass itched against his arms, the scent of barbecues and summer heat lingering in the air. Kids were running around with sparklers, their laughter mixing with the murmur of the crowd.
Wally glanced over at Y/N. The light from a nearby streetlamp caught in her hair, and for the hundredth time that summer, he felt something unfamiliar twist in his chest.
He liked her. More than he was supposed to. More than just friends.
And that was a problem.
Because they’d been hanging out so much that they had to be just friends, right? If she wanted something more, wouldn’t she have said something?
Or maybe she was waiting for him to say something.
Or maybe he was just being an idiot about all of this.
“You’re thinking too hard,” Y/N said suddenly, tilting her head to look at him.
He blinked. “Huh?”
“You do this thing where you get weirdly quiet, which is not normal, and then your eyebrows scrunch like—” She made a face, furrowing her brows in an exaggerated way.
He laughed, pushing her shoulder. “I do not look like that.”
“You so do.”
“Rude.”
She grinned, satisfied, and turned back to the sky.
His chest felt tight. It was so easy with her. The teasing, the late nights, the endless conversations that somehow never got old.
He wanted to tell her. He wanted to say something.
But before he could, the first firework shot into the sky.
A loud boom, a burst of color. The crowd cheered, voices overlapping in excitement. Wally exhaled, staring at the explosion of red and gold.
Maybe it was a good thing he didn’t say anything.
Because right now, in this perfect summer, in this perfect night—he got to keep her like this.
And maybe that was enough.
For now.

The drive home was quiet.
Not uncomfortable. Not tense. Just… quiet.
Y/N sat beside me in the passenger seat, fingers tracing idle patterns against her jeans. Every now and then, I could feel her looking at me, but she didn’t say anything. Didn’t push.
And honestly? I didn’t know how to feel about that.
Part of me had expected more—some grand plea, a desperate apology, something that would take away the ache in my chest. But instead, she had just sat there, letting me be.
And weirdly… it helped.
It wasn’t a quick fix. It wasn’t some magic answer that made everything suddenly fine. But it was something.
I pulled into her driveway, shifting the truck into park.
Still, neither of us moved.
Finally, Y/N sighed, turning to face me.
“I don’t expect things to go back to normal overnight,” she admitted, voice quiet. “And I know I have to earn your trust back.”
I swallowed hard, gripping the steering wheel. “Yeah. You do.”
She nodded, like she had already come to terms with that.
“But I’m willing to wait,” she said softly. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes to prove to you that I won’t walk away again.”
I stared at her for a long moment, the streetlights casting shadows across her face.
I wanted to believe her.
And a part of me did.
But another part—the part that still remembered the way she had looked at me that night, like she had already made up her mind, like nothing I said mattered—
That part was scared.
“Okay,” I finally said.
Her breath hitched. “Okay?”
I exhaled, nodding. “We try. But slowly.”
A small, hopeful smile tugged at her lips. “Slowly.”
She hesitated, like she wasn’t sure if she should reach for me again.
This time, I was the one to close the distance.
Not a kiss. Not some big, dramatic gesture.
Just my fingers brushing over hers, a quiet promise that we weren’t completely broken.
That maybe, just maybe—
We could put the pieces back together.
Y/N squeezed my hand lightly before letting go.
“I’ll see you tomorrow?” she asked, her voice laced with something fragile.
I nodded. “Yeah.”
She gave me one last soft look before slipping out of the truck, disappearing into her house.
And for the first time in weeks, I felt like I could breathe again.
Maybe this wasn’t the end.
Maybe it was just the beginning.

The moment I stepped off the field, hand in Y/N’s, the world snapped back into focus.
Coach was fuming.
My teammates were staring, a mix of shock, curiosity, and relief thick in the air.
And I knew—knew the second I hit the locker room, I'd get ripped apart for walking off mid-practice, for letting my personal life explode onto the field.
But right now?
I didn’t care.
Because Y/N was still gripping my hand like she was afraid I’d disappear, her breath still uneven, her fingers cold against my own.
Because my chest still felt tight, my heart still unsteady from the weight of everything.
Because even though I wanted to be angry—
I had missed her too much.
We didn’t say anything as we crossed the field, barely hearing the way Coach’s yelling turned into distant background noise.
It wasn’t until we hit the bleachers—until we were tucked in the shadow of the empty stands, away from the eyes of the team—that I stopped.
Turned to her.
Let go of her hand.
She looked up at me, eyes searching, like she was bracing for whatever came next.
For a long moment, I just stared.
At the girl who had wrecked me.
At the girl who still made my heart trip over itself.
At the girl who had just put herself directly in the line of fire because she couldn’t take it anymore.
My girl
I exhaled sharply. “You can’t do stuff like that, Y/N.”
Her breath caught. “I know.”
“You walked onto the field—” my voice wavered, the panic from earlier still gripping my ribs. “Do you have any idea what could’ve happened if they had snapped the ball? If someone hit you?”
Her face crumpled. “I wasn’t thinking.”
“No, you weren’t,” I snapped, then immediately cursed under my breath, scrubbing a hand down my face. “Jesus.”
Her shoulders curled in slightly, like she was preparing for me to tell her to leave.
And maybe a part of me thought I should.
But the other part—the part that had spent every day aching for her, that had spent every night staring at my ceiling, missing her—
That part couldn’t let her go.
“Say it again,” I muttered.
She blinked. “What?”
My voice was hoarse. “That you were wrong.”
Her eyes softened, even as fresh guilt flickered in them.
“I was wrong,” she whispered.
I let out a slow, unsteady breath, nodding once.
Then—
Before I could second-guess myself—
I reached for her again.
This time, I cupped her face, brushing my thumbs gently over her cheekbones, grounding myself in the warmth of her skin.
Her breath stuttered.
“I wanted to hate you,” I admitted quietly. “After that night, I tried to hate you.”
Her fingers curled around my wrists, holding on like she was afraid I’d slip away.
“But I couldn’t,” my said, voice raw. “I still can’t.”
Tears welled in her eyes. “Wally—”
I shook my head. “I’m not saying it’s fixed. I’m not saying we can just go back to how it was.”
She nodded, swallowing hard. “I know.”
“But I can’t pretend I don’t love you.”
A choked sound escaped her, like she was barely holding it together.
Like she wanted to say it back but didn’t know if she deserved to.
So I gave her a way out.
A test.
“Come to the diner with me,” I murmured.
Her brows furrowed. “What?”
“Tonight,” I clarified. “Come with me. Talk to me.”
She exhaled shakily. “And if I do?”
My fingers tightened slightly on her face, my stomach twisting as I searched her gaze.
“Then maybe we start over.”
She stared at me, lips parted, eyes wide.
Then—slowly, carefully—she nodded.
And for the first time since it all fell apart, I felt like maybe, just maybe—
We had a chance.

"Come on, Wally, you're taking forever!" Becky complained, poking her head into the garage. "We're gonna miss the first half of the movie if you don't hurry up!"
"Just one more screw," Wally grunted, his voice muffled by the engine of the '67 Chevelle he was tinkering with. His hands were smeared with grease and sweat, and his heart raced with excitement. It wasn't just the anticipation of the new sci-fi flick at the drive-in—though that was a big part of it—it was the fact that he'd be seeing y/n there, the girl he'd had a crush on since the dawn of time. Or at least since middle school.
The garage was a mess, but to Wally, it was a sanctuary. Posters of cars and rock bands lined the walls, and tools hung neatly from pegboards. The smell of gasoline and oil mixed with the faint scent of Becky's perfume wafting in from the doorway. She was y/n's best friend, a constant in his life, but tonight, she was just a hurdle to clear before he could see the girl of his dreams.
"What's the big deal?" Wally called out, his voice echoing in the cavernous space. "It's just y/n. You guys see each other every day at school anyway."
Becky rolled her eyes and stepped into the garage, her platform heels clacking against the concrete floor. She knew better than to argue with Wally when he had his heart set on something. "You're the one who's acting like a lovesick puppy," she teased, waving her hand in front of her nose to ward off the fumes.
Wally stood up, wiping his hands on an even greasier rag. "I'm not lovesick," he protested, his cheeks flushing. "I just... I don't know. She's different, you know?"
"Different from what?" Becky challenged, crossing her arms over her chest. "Different from the posters of half-naked girls plastered all over your bedroom wall?"
Wally shot her a glare. "Those are art, Becky. This is...real." He paused, searching for the right words. "Y/n's got this...this light, you know? And she's not just pretty, she's...interesting."
Becky laughed. "Interesting, huh? That's a new one." She tossed him a clean shirt. "You're just saying that because she doesn't throw herself at you like the others do."
Wally caught the shirt, his eyes lingering on Becky's smug expression. "You don't get it," he muttered, pulling the shirt over his head.
"I get it," she said with a knowing smile. "You're jealous."
Wally froze, his hand still on the shirt. "What? Jealous of what?"
"Of anyone who gets to spend time with her, obviously," Becky said with a smirk. "You want her all to yourself."
Wally's heart skipped a beat. Jealous? He'd never thought of it that way before, but as the word hung in the air, he realized it was true. The thought of y/n with anyone else made his stomach twist in knots. But was it really jealousy, or was it something more?
"Come on," Becky said, grabbing his arm and pulling him towards the door. "We're gonna be late."
He allowed himself to be dragged out of the garage, his thoughts racing. Jealousy was a powerful emotion, and one he wasn't used to feeling. It was going to be a long night.
--- (1/4 of the way)
The drive to the drive-in was a blur of neon lights and honking horns. The 80s were in full swing, and the streets of their small town were alive with the sounds of music and laughter. Wally's mind was a million miles away, replaying every moment he'd shared with y/n. The way she'd looked at him in math class when he'd solved that impossible problem. The shy smile she'd given him when he'd held the door open. The way her eyes sparkled when she talked about her favorite book.
When they finally pulled into the packed parking lot, Wally's nerves were strung tighter than the guitar strings at a Van Halen concert. He spotted y/n's car almost immediately—a candy apple red Corvette that was the envy of every guy at school. His stomach flipped as he realized she'd come alone. Maybe, just maybe, tonight was the night.
"There she is," Becky said, nodding towards the Corvette. "Looks like she's saving a spot for you."
Wally swallowed hard. "I'm not so sure," he said, trying to keep the hope out of his voice.
They parked next to y/n, and Wally took a deep breath before climbing out of the car. He could see her silhouette in the driver's seat, the glow of a cigarette casting a warm light on her features. She looked up as they approached, and their eyes met. Wally felt his heart stutter in his chest.
"Hey," she said, her voice low and husky. "You guys made it."
"Hi," Wally managed to croak out, his throat suddenly dry. "How's it going?"
Y/n shrugged. "Okay, I guess. Just waiting for the movie to start."
They talked awkwardly for a few minutes, the air thick with tension. Wally's mind was racing with what-ifs and maybes. What if he just told her how he felt? What if she laughed in his face? What if she said she felt the same way?
But before he could say anything, Becky chimed in. "You know, Wally's been working on his car all day just so he could impress you," she said with a wink.
Wally's cheeks burned. "Shut up, Becky," he muttered.
Y/n looked over at him, her eyes widening. "Is that true?"
"It's no big deal," he said, trying to play it cool.
"No, it is," she said, her voice sincere. "That's really sweet."
Sweet? He'd never thought of himself as sweet before. He felt a strange warmth spread through his chest. Maybe, just maybe, she did like him.
As they walked towards the snack bar, Becky shot him a look. "See?" she whispered. "You're totally jealous."
Wally didn't reply. He was too busy trying to keep his cool around y/n. But deep down, he knew Becky was right. He was jealous of anyone who had the chance to be close to her. And he'd do anything to be the one she looked at like that.
As the night grew darker and the movie played on the massive outdoor screen, Wally couldn't shake the feeling that y/n was watching him. Every time he glanced over, she'd be looking away, as if she'd been caught in the act. His mind filled with fantasies of what could happen if he just had the courage to make a move.
After Becky fell asleep in the back seat, Wally couldn't take it anymore. He excused himself, saying he had to grab something from his car. His heart pounding, he grabbed the Polaroid of y/n that he'd taken of her that week. It was a candid shot of her in a bikini at the beach, her hair blowing in the wind and her eyes closed in laughter. He'd been carrying it around with him like a secret treasure, touching it when he was alone and letting his imagination run wild.
In the privacy of his car, parked a few rows away, he took the picture out and studied it, his breath hitching. He could almost feel the warmth of her skin, the softness of her hair. He leaned back, his hand sliding down his pants, his arousal growing as he thought of her. He closed his eyes and began to stroke himself, the image of her smiling face etched in his mind
--- (2/4, we can do this y'all! ♡)
But he wasn't as alone as he thought.
The sound of the door opening startled him, and he nearly jumped out of his seat. Y/n slid into the passenger side, her eyes on the picture in his hand. "What's this?" she asked, her voice quiet but firm.
Wally's face burned with embarrassment. He'd been caught red-handed—literally. "It's nothing," he said, trying to tuck it away. "Just...just a picture."
"A picture of me," she said, taking it from his hand. "Why do you have this, Wally?"
He couldn't look at her. "I...I don't know," he mumbled. "I just...I think you're beautiful."
The silence in the car was deafening, the sound of his own racing heart the only noise he could hear. He braced himself for her to slap him, to scream, to get out and run away. But she didn't. Instead, she leaned closer, her breath hot against his neck. "God, you're cute," she murmured.
Wally's eyes snapped open, his heart pounding in his chest. "You think I'm cute?"
Y/n smirked, taking a drag of her cigarette. "You think I'm not aware of what you've been doing over here?" She exhaled a cloud of smoke, her eyes never leaving his. "I've seen the way you look at me, Wally."
He didn't know what to say, his thoughts tangled in a web of confusion and desire.
"But why are you hiding?" she continued. "Why don't you just tell me how you feel?"
Wally's hand stilled, his eyes meeting hers. "Because...because I'm afraid," he admitted, his voice barely a whisper. "I'm afraid of losing you. Of messing things up."
Y/n reached over and placed her hand on his, stopping his frantic movements. "You're not going to mess things up," she said softly. "Not if we do it together."
With those words, the dam broke. Wally couldn't believe what was happening. He leaned in, his heart racing, and kissed her. It was a clumsy, desperate kiss, fueled by years of longing. But y/n didn't pull away. Instead, she kissed him back, her hand sliding up to cradle his face.
Their kiss grew deeper, more urgent. Wally fumbled with the buttons of her shirt, his hands trembling with excitement. The fabric fell away, revealing the lacy bra she wore underneath. He traced the outline of her breast with his thumb, feeling her nipple harden against his touch. Y/n moaned, pressing herself against him, her own hands busy unbuckling his belt.
They moved to the back of the car, the vinyl seats sticking to their skin as they kissed and explored each other. Wally felt like he was in a dream—or maybe a scene from one of the steamy romance novels he'd snuck a peek at in the bookstore. The scent of her perfume filled his nose, a sweet, intoxicating aroma that only heightened his arousal.
Y/n straddled him, her legs on either side of his hips, her bare skin against his. Wally could feel the heat of her, the softness of her thighs as they gripped him tightly. He reached up, cupping her breasts in his hands, feeling the weight of them, the nipples peaked and sensitive. She threw her head back, her hair cascading around them like a curtain, blocking out the rest of the world.
Her hips began to move, rocking gently against him. He could feel himself straining against the fabric of his jeans, desperate for release. He slid his hand down, slipping it under her skirt, finding the dampness waiting for him. Y/n's breath hitched as he touched her, her eyes fluttering closed.
Their kisses grew more frantic as they undressed each other, the air thick with need. The sound of their breathing and the rustling of clothes was the only sound in the quiet night. Wally could feel her heat, her wetness, and it was all he could do to hold back
--- (3/4, drink some water, thanks for making it this far! ♡)
When they were both naked, y/n leaned forward, her breasts brushing against his chest. She took him in her hand, stroking him gently before guiding him to her entrance. Wally's breath caught in his throat as he pushed into her, feeling her tightness wrap around him like a warm, wet glove.
Their rhythm grew faster, their breaths mingling as they moved together. Y/n's nails dug into his shoulders, leaving half-moons of pleasure-pain on his skin. Wally could feel the tension coiling in his gut, ready to explode.
Their eyes locked, and for a moment, it was as if they were the only two people in the world. The neon lights of the drive-in flickered outside the windows, casting a rainbow of colors across their sweat-slicked bodies. The movie played on in the background, forgotten in the face of their passion.
Wally felt himself reaching the edge, the pressure building until it was unbearable. He didn't want it to end, but he couldn't hold back. He bucked his hips up into her, driving deep, feeling her tighten around him as she climaxed. It was all he needed to let go, the world spinning out of control as he came, his vision white-hot with pleasure.
They collapsed against each other, panting and spent. The silence was broken only by the distant sound of a car engine and the rustle of the wind through the trees.
For a moment, they just held each other, the reality of what had just happened sinking in. Then y/n spoke, her voice soft and shaky. "Wally, that was..."
He kissed her again, cutting off her words. "I know," he murmured. "It was perfect."
And as they lay there, tangled in each other's arms, Wally realized that this was the start of something beautiful.

The lake was freezing.
Y/N had been saying it the entire drive up. The entire hike down to the water. The entire time Wally was dragging her toward the dock.
And now, standing at the edge, toes curled over the sun-warmed wood, she was positive of it.
“I swear, Clark,” she warned, arms crossed, “if you push me in, I will haunt you.”
Wally, already chest-deep in the lake, grinned up at her. “Oh, come on.”
“No.”
“You’re gonna be hot and miserable all day.”
“That’s fine.”
He rolled his eyes. “Y/N.”
“Wally.”
A beat. Then—
“You’re scared.”
She scoffed. “I am not.”
“Then jump in.”
She glared. “I hate you.”
“No, you don’t.”
She groaned, running a hand through her hair. The dock creaked beneath her as she debated her options.
1. Stay dry, but deal with Wally’s relentless teasing for the rest of the summer.
2. Jump in, probably freeze to death, but shut him up.
Neither was ideal.
But the way he was smirking… Yeah. She couldn’t let him win.
“Fine,” she muttered.
And before she could second-guess herself, she jumped.
Cold slammed into her, stealing the air from her lungs. She resurfaced with a gasp, pushing her hair from her face.
“Oh my God—”
Wally was cackling.
“It’s not funny!” she wheezed, still adjusting to the shock.
“It’s hilarious,” he corrected, paddling closer.
“You’re dead.”
“Oh yeah?” His grin widened. “What are you gonna do about it?”
She lunged.
Water splashed everywhere as she grabbed him, shoving him under.
Wally came up coughing, shaking water from his hair. “Okay—truce, truce!”
She smirked, floating lazily on her back. “Thought so.”
He nudged her with his foot. “You’re the worst.”
“No, you’re the worst.”
Silence settled between them, broken only by the gentle ripple of the water. The sun was warm against their faces, the lake stretching wide and endless around them.
Wally glanced at her. “Admit it. You’re glad you jumped in.”
She sighed dramatically. “I guess it’s not that bad.”
He grinned, nudging her again. “Told you.”
And for once, she let him have the last word.

“This is the best album ever made,” Wally declared, holding up the record. Let's Dance by Bon Jovi
Y/N snorted. “You have terrible taste.”
He clutched his chest. “Take. That. Back.”
She crossed her arms. “Make me.”
He grinned, narrowing his eyes. “I could tickle you until you admit I’m right.”
Her eyes widened. “You wouldn’t.”
He took a step closer.
She bolted.
Laughter echoed through the aisles as he chased her down, dodging shelves and stacks of vinyl until the store clerk gave them a glare that said one more noise and you’re out.
They tried to stifle their laughter, failing miserably.
