Guys I want angry starscream please I'm begging. I want him calculating every move he does. I want Megatron keeping him by his side because he's frightened on just how much worse starscream will become if he isn't tied down. I wanted a respected starscream because while Megatron can bash your head in star Will easily rip everything from you so he can just watch as you do it yourself. I want a starscream that confronts the others and holds his wings high. I want him to always make it aware he's the second in command for a reason. I want him to have a upper hand on Megatron as well. I want him seeking blood for his fallen fleets. I want him to be ready to carve Vos back up againfrom, the ground up. I want him to remind all the other deceptions he earned his place. I need to him to randomly show Soundwave and Shockwave just why he was and always will be second in command. I adore sympathetic Starscream but please let this man prove he's strong my mental health relys on it.

SHOCKWAVE AND WHIRL!!

A Dangerous genius from the depths of the nemesis, an unknown danger beneath the depths of their very ship. Whirl, his bodyguard, eyes to the outside and most importantly his consort.

Time to talk about their LORE!

Shockwave awoke, connected to the wall, weak, cold and confused, connected to the wall by cords and wires. So much information was running through his head he had to break free from the wall to catch a break. It took some time The voice’s kept calling him shockwave. It took some time but Shockwave used the database he was connected too to learn the history of the cybertron war, what happened the planet, where he was and most importantly what happened to him. He discovered the decepticons called him shockwave because that’s what they’d call the database ai (similar to Siri.) created by Soundwave. He also figured out no one knew he was in this little room.

It was unknown who Shockwave was before his Empurata ritual happened. He doesn’t remember anything from his past not even his real name. Slowly things here and there would come back to him, memories of his old life, people he cared about but don’t know anymore. With the discovery of cybertrons demise. Shockwave became angry. He want the both decepticons and autobots to die for their war, he knows that their planet may be beyond fixing. He swore a slow revenge for both parties.

But while upgrading and plotting, he started getting some of his emotions, he started getting lonely and wondering if any other Empurata we’re capable of breaking out of their trance.

(Only decepticons have Empurata aka drones in their faction due to have enough resources for them and that they are basically fee labor. Drones are lower class them not really considered alive, so often times they are vehicons or work in dangerous areas. They are lower than servant Class cons)

Shockwave didn’t want to damage any vehicons or cause unnecessary death. So he told himself if he caught one with any hint of life to them he would continue with procedures. Until then he worked on himself and mapped out weaknesses in the decepticon army.

One day he spotted a vehicon looking at itself through windows or lagging behind others. Not entirely paying attention. It wasn’t hard to find him because of the unique markings on its neck. Shockwave stole him away, no one would notice and went though the procedure of waking the vehicon.

The Drone was confused and scared most of the time and barely spoke. Mostly just staying in a corner or looking at their reflection. Shockwave would mostly leave them alone. Eventually tho as the Drones personality began to shine through, they asked questions or make pretty honest remarks, they could offend times be considered rude. Shockwave didn’t care tho, it was nice just to have someone around. Then the Drone personality came back full swing Bold, crazy, honest, crude. Most interesting this mech had no fear. They were also a very skilled and dangerous opponent often pulling insane manic maneuvers when fighting just too win, they were incredibly strong. It was hard for shockwave to keep up. One day the drone remembered his own name, Whirl.

The two work closely together. Whirl pretends to be a regular old vehicon on the surface. While shockwave upgrades and preps their next movie. It’s difficult for Whirl sometimes tho, because he doesn’t take disrespect lightly and he has to keep most of his skills to a minimal level.

No one: “Do you have any headcanons about the Gumm-Gumms?” Me: “Why yes, as a matter of fact I do.”

Sure, their primary reputation is as warriors/raiders/murderers, but they’ve also got some really top-notch smiths. Somebody’s got to craft and maintain the armour and weapons. 

(Yes, we see one troll get their armour conjured when mind-controlled, but we also later saw mind-controlled trolls being given helmets, so presumably the armour isn’t all conjured by the Decimaar Blade.) 

Non-Gumm-Gumm trolls are seen wielding Parlok spears, too, but Parlok was the name of the Gumm-Gumm smith who first designed that style of spear. It’s designed to be used against a sword (like when Jim used a fork to catch Strickler’s butterknife in Recipe For Disaster). The dual-pronged head also allows extra damage when stabbed into a target and twisted, without the risk of getting stuck that a serrated spearhead would present.

Gumm-Gumm craftsworkers are also amazing at imbuing artifacts with magical power. Looking at the properties of the Grit-Shaka and the Decimaar Blade, Gumm-Gumm sorcerers appear to have an aptitude for mind-influencing magic. 

Speaking of the Grit-Shaka, the saying that “the brave are often the first to die” was originally a Gumm-Gumm saying, “the fearless are often the first to die.” 

It was meant as strategic advice that the use of Grit-Shakas should be a last resort, not an opening tactic. It has since evolved to mean something more like “don’t try to be a hero,” and spread among non-Gumm-Gumms who heard it used as a taunt - the audience first hears the line from Angor Rot.

The Decimaar Blade is passed down from one warlord to the next, and enchanted so only a Gumm-Gumm can wield it. An acceptable means of claiming power in their society is to steal the Decimaar Blade and use it to kill the previous warlord. If the warlord is killed by a non-Gumm-Gumm, whichever troll can summon Decimaar next is accepted as the new warlord. 

Merlin based part of the enchantment woven into the sword of Daylight, which can only be wielded by the Trollhunter, on this established structure of spellwork. Trolls as a whole were pretty freaked out by the first Trollhunter because the conjurable sword and armour were so Gumm-Gumm-esque.

Decimaar is an archaic trollish word meaning ‘control’ or ‘authority’, referring to how the sword belongs to the tribe leader and to its mind-control powers. In English it would translate as something like ‘the sword of power’. Its similarity to ‘decimate’ (killing every tenth individual) is a false cognate. Due to association with the Gumm-Gumms, trolls don’t tend to say decimaar in conversation anymore, but the word still comes up in formal and/or legal contexts.

According to the spinoff novel of the same name, The Book Of Ga-Huel was written by the Dishonorable Bodus, not a scholar named Ga-Huel as I had previously assumed. Bodus says it was commissioned by Orlagk, the warlord before Gunmar, so Ga-Huel wasn’t the commissioner’s name either. If one chooses to accept this as canon, it raises the question of where the book’s title came from. 

I posit that ‘Ga-Huel’ was actually the tribe’s original name, and ‘Gumm-Gumm’ began as something their enemies called them, which they adopted out of pride at how intimidating ‘bringer of horrible, slow, painful, and thoroughly-calculated death’ sounds.
