“Can you do another establishing shot of the bedroom?” your crime scene unit supervisor requests.
You nod, feel your baby kick, and tread carefully through the home-turned-crime scene to take more photographs. It’s no secret that CSIs can never take too many photos, but now that you’re pregnant, you wonder if there’s a way to collect them faster. You love your job; being a police photographer is wholly rewarding and enjoyable for you, but some scenes and some days are more trying than others. Being near Tim Bradford at work similarly has its pros and cons.
“Hey, mama,” Angela greets as she enters the bedroom. “Is this the primary scene?”
“We think so,” you answer softly, removing the sync cord from your camera to photograph the scene without the light.
“How are you feeling?” Angela asks, looking around the room without altering anything before your photos are complete.
“Pretty good,” you reply.
“Tim still… well, Tim?”
You nod as you move toward the corner, focusing the camera on a bloody screwdriver. Whatever happened here wasn’t quick and was undoubtedly painful. Your supervisor walks through the hall and tells you to pack up, and you nod at Angela with a smile. She hugs you before you leave, and you ready your nerves to see Tim when you return to the station.
“Wait, go back,” Lucy requests as you’re shepherded into the roll call room. “Tim, I’m going to say this slowly and I want you to listen very carefully, okay?”
“Chen,” Tim snaps.
She doesn’t heed his warning tone and begins, “You want to send the mother of your child into a prison to get intel on a murder case. Where in that sentence do you hear a good idea?”
“What?” you inquire with your hands clasped tightly beneath your growing bump.
Lucy turns, her expression guilty. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were in here.”
“We were just brainstorming,” Tim explains, walking toward you. “The woman who was murdered this morning was released from CIW last week.”
“CIW, however, is out of our jurisdiction,” Nyla adds. “So, we reached out to San Bernadino PD and they’ve agreed to let us send in a UC.”
“The problem is that the woman we need to talk to is notoriously picky about who she takes up company with,” Tim adds. “Rumor is, she has a thing for strays, she likes being around people she can protect.”
“Which, to me, sounds like she would be ready to turn on them in an instant,” Lucy interjects. “Hence my reluctance.”
“So, because I’m pregnant, you think she’d watch out for me, let me close?” you clarify.
“More or less,” Nyla answers.
Lucy scoffs and shakes her head. “It’s too dangerous.”
“Would I be alone?” you whisper, looking at Tim.
“Of course not. We’d send in two officers, acting as doctors, who can pull you out any time.”
“Would it do it if Tim and Angela went in with you?” Nyla asks.
You pull your bottom lip between your teeth as you consider everything. You’d be putting yourself and your baby in danger. If Tim and Angela were a call away, the risk would decrease dramatically. Before you can decide, Lucy holds your arms and hugs you.
“Don’t do it,” she says. “There’s too much at risk.”
“We can’t just leave a killer on the street,” you whisper against her.
Lucy sighs as she pulls back, and she nods. “Then I’m going in too. Get San Bernadino on the phone; I want to be closer than a doctor.”
Nyla nods, then looks at you.
“Yeah, I’ll do it,” you state.
“We’re right beside you,” Tim promises, kissing your hairline.
“Technically, I am right beside her, you’ll be in the infirmary,” Lucy corrects. “I better get to be this baby’s godmother.”
Nyla laughs before she says, “In your dreams, single-income, apartment-sharing option.”
“What, just because you’re married and have a house, you’re a better fit?” Lucy questions. Her smile drops as she murmurs, “Yeah, that makes sense.”
“Alright,” Tim calls, shaking his head. “Let’s go to Chino and get some answers out of convicts.”
“They call her Pitbull,” Angela had explained before you went in. At your wide-eyed expression, she adds, “She’s essentially a guard dog. She chooses who she’ll protect and sics anyone who comes near. If you can get on the right side of Pitbull, she’ll tell you what she knows about Ringer – our victim.”
You sit on your bunk and look around, wondering if you look like a pumpkin in an oversized orange jumpsuit. When you hear footsteps outside, you drop your head and let your shyness run rampant. If it makes you seem weak, this is a better time than ever to embrace it.
Lucy unlocks the cell door, and Pitbull enters. She looks at you, running her eyes up and down your face before noticing the protruding baby bump beneath your new and temporary outfit.
“What are you in for?” Pitbull asks, her voice raspy and low.
“Stabbed my baby daddy,” you admit, rubbing a hand over your stomach. “He wouldn’t stop,” you add, letting her fill in the blanks.
As you speak, your baby kicks. The farther along you get, the more your voice seems to excite him or her.
“You don’t fit in here, Mommy,” Pitbull sneers.
You nod with your head down, telling the truth when you agree with her.
“People around here don’t like different, don’t like chicas who aren’t the same,” she adds. “What are you going to do about that?”
When you shrug, she surges forward. Her hands land on your shoulders, and you inhale when she pushes you up to make you look at her. She stops, smiles, and brushes her hand against your neck.
“You don’t have to do anything,” she whispers. “Understand?”
“Why?” you inquire.
“Because…” she drops her hand to your bump before she confesses, “I’ve got reasons you won’t understand, and you’ve got a reason to accept the protection.”
“I can’t- I don’t have anything to give you.”
Pitbull laughs as she returns to her cot. “This isn’t a tv-style arrangement; I’m giving you a gift, and I ask for nada in return. Just focus on yourself, and the baby.”
“Thank you.”
As you lay awake in bed the first night, you hear Pitbull whisper a prayer in Spanish. You wonder what she knows when she asks for the eternal protection of Ringer’s soul.
“Dr. Benson is here,” Lucy says, dressed as a corrections officer. “Let’s go.”
“Whoa, hold up,” Pitbull interrupts, moving to block the cell door. “Dr. Benson male or female?”
“None of your concern.” Lucy barks your fake last name and repeats, “Let’s go.”
“She was traumatized by her ex; she probably doesn’t want a male doctor. Right?”
She turns to face you, and you nod sheepishly.
“So, now it is my concern,” Pitbull continues, cracking her neck to the side. “I go with her, or you get another doctor.”
Lucy sighs as she checks her watch. Pulling a radio from her hip, she asks if you can have another inmate accompany you. You recognize Angela’s voice as she begrudgingly allows it just this one time.
“Boy or girl?” Pitbull asks, glaring at the women in the cells you pass.
“I don’t know yet,” you answer honestly. “Doesn’t matter, though, does it?”
“Still your kid. Last chica I shared a cell with, she had a kid on the inside, reached out when he turned 18, and got cartas desagradables from the parents even though he was old enough.”
“Cruel world,” you murmur.
“Crueler people.”
You glance at Pitbull, wondering what she did to get her locked up for nearly half of her life. She’ll come up for parole in a few years. Part of you wants her to get out, but you know better.
“Ringer – that’s what we called her because she rung a guy’s neck for assaulting her niece…”
You know that’s not true. Ringer's niece was assaulted, but Ringer broke a lot of necks looking for the right guy. She was practically a serial attempted murderer.
“Ringer said she was going to find the kid when she got out, just long enough to apologize and let him know she wouldn’t have given him up if she’d had a chance.”
“Noble,” you muse.
“Crueler people,” she repeats as you near the prison infirmary.
Pitbull stands beside Lucy as you move to the examination table. Tim enters a moment later, looking like an angel in a white lab coat. He’s wearing glasses, and his hair is styled differently. His hands on you feel the same, even if he isn’t smiling and keeps his speaking clipped and serious (though you suppose that part isn’t much different than the version of him you see at work).
“How far along are you?” he asks.
“Four months or so,” you answer.
Tim nods, then lays his hands on either side of your bump.
“Have you had a thorough exam by an OBGYN?” he inquires.
You shake your head, and he slides the rolling chair back as his hands fall away.
“She’ll need one now,” he tells Lucy. “I can call in a female colleague if that would be more comfortable.”
“Do that,” Pitbull demands.
Tim stands, nods at Lucy, and exits the room. He returns to hand Lucy a paper robe, then disappears. Lucy takes Pitbull out of the exam room while you change, and you know she will keep her out for the entire 'examination’ so you can tell Tim and Angela what you found. Angela comes in first, her brows rising at the sight of you in a jumpsuit with tight braids framing your face, courtesy of Pitbull.
“She said Ringer was looking for her son – he turned 18 while she was still incarcerated, and she vowed to find him when she got out,” you explain. “His adoptive parents wanted her far away from him.”
“That’s motive,” Angela says, pulling her phone from her pocket. “I’ll get units to the parents’ house now.”
Tim returns to your side, and you pull his hand against your bump. As you tell him everything Pitbull has shared with you, your baby kicks against his hand. Tim smiles as he bends down to kiss you, and you suddenly want to leave this prison. Pitbull’s parole is no longer a thought in your mind.
“We’ll get you out as soon as we can,” Tim promises.
Less than twelve hours later, you’re removed from your shared cell with Pitbull, taken to solitary, and then you walk out of the prison in your own clothes with your hand held tightly in Tim’s. Ringer’s killer, the adoptive father of her son, is behind bars and awaiting trial, and Angela and Nyla have yet another solved case to add to their repertoires.
“Want to grab some dinner?” Lucy asks in the parking lot. “Or breakfast,” she amends, noting the first streaks of sunlight painting the sky.
“We’re going home,” Tim answers for you.
“Thanks for everything, Lucy,” you tell her as Tim opens his passenger door for you.
“I didn’t do much,” she argues. “But anytime.”
In the comfort and safety of your home, you sit beside Tim, brutally aware of his fingers brushing along your bump where his arm is tucked around your waist.
“You did amazing,” he says.
He kisses your forehead and then your lips, and you sigh against him as your baby kicks again.
“We should find out the baby’s gender,” he says. “I know we said we didn’t want to…”
“I agree,” you reply, laying your head on his shoulder. “I’ll make an appointment.”
“You mean you’ll have me make an appointment.”
You turn your face against his shoulder and huff, your ears warming at his teasing. Tim chuckles, holding you like he never wants to let you go, and you feel exactly the same.
i feel like i have read every tim bradford fic on here and idk what to do now 🤣🥲

“What about those?” Tim asks, pointing at another page in the magazine before you.
You hum before turning the page. Tim pulls his hand away from your lap before gently removing the magazine from your hands. He raises an open palm to your cheek and gently turns your face to his.
“What’s wrong?”
“I don’t want to answer any questions unless they’re asked under fairy lights,” you murmur.
Tim notices that your eyes aren’t quite to his. The past few months have been hard, but you’ve been able to move on and take your life back from the man who murdered your mother. Thanks in no small part to Tim and his constant presence by your side.
“That proposal spoiled you,” he muses. “I knew I should have asked you in those ratty old pajamas.”
“You said I look beautiful in those pajamas.”
“And you do. You don’t have to talk to me about it if you don’t want to, but don’t hold it all inside.”
“I just- planning a wedding is hard, but I always thought I’d be doing it with her. My mom was in every idea and dream I had of my future. Now she’s gone. Even looking at bridal magazines makes me miss her more.”
Tim leans forward and kisses your forehead. He loves you and has reminded you that life is worth living, and the loss and grief you feel do get better, though it never goes away.
“I have a question for you,” you murmur against his palm.
Tim looks up before he clicks his tongue. “No fairy lights.”
“Will you go dress shopping with me? You don’t have to see the dress or anything, but I want you there.”
“Of course. I’m great at picking wedding dresses; ask Angela.”
“Thank you.”
Tim hasn’t said you’re welcome in weeks, always saying, “I love you” instead. Just as he does now.
“I love you more.”
“Knock, knock,” Wade calls through the curtain separating your bridal suite.
“Come in,” you call.
“Wow,” he compliments as he enters. “You look beautiful.”
“Don’t make me cry this makeup off.”
Wade chuckles before asking to speak privately. Your bridal party, including Angela and Lucy, excuse themselves, and you take Wade’s hand as he leads you to sit on the settee.
“I know what you just said about crying, but I have something for you.” He pulls an envelope from his blazer pocket and taps it against his hand. “Your mom was a planner and a good one. She, uh, wrote you this letter and gave it to me in case anything ever happened to her. Actually, she wrote you a different letter, and replaced it with this one a week or so before everything happened.”
You take the envelope carefully, tearing up at the sight of your mom’s handwriting on the front.
“I’ll leave you to read it, but it’s a big day, and you deserve to know that your mom loved you.”
“Can you stay? Please,” you say as he stands.
Wade nods and returns to his seat. He watches you as you remove the letter and read it. When your eyes reach the bottom of the paper, you look away quickly and wipe under your eyes with the pads of your thumbs.
“Can you find Tim?” you ask with a sniffle. “I need to talk to him.”
“I can. He’s not seeing that pretty dress, though.”
You stand after Wade leaves and pace the bridal suite. It’s less than three minutes later when Tim steps through the curtain. Finding it impossible not to, you laugh at him.
“This was Wade’s idea,” he grumbles.
Tim raises his arms, and you take his hands with another laugh.
“Whose tie is that?” you ask.
“Wesley’s. Can’t you tell from the quality silk?”
Tim uses your joined hands to pull you closer, and he lowers his voice to ask if you’re alright.
“Wade gave me a note from my mom. She talked about you and how happy we were together. Uh, the last line was that our life together would be twice a life.”
“You sound like you’re about to cry,” Tim says. “Please don’t. If you start crying, I have to take the tie off.”
“Just hug me, Tim,” you demand.
Tim happily pulls you into his arms and kisses the top of your head. In parallel to the night after the funeral, Tim holds you close and whispers promises that everything will be okay and you’re never alone. When he adds that he loves you and he can’t wait to be your husband, you choke on a cry.
“Don’t,” you say as his hands move to the tie. “I’m okay. You- you can go now.”
“Oh, great,” Tim groans as he turns away. “Now it’s my turn to cry when you walk down the aisle in the perfect dress.”
The moment you step into Tim’s sight at the end of the aisle, tears build in his eyes. Though it’s Wade at your side, you feel your mom’s presence, too. It’s as if she is right beside you and cheering you on the entire walk down the aisle.
“You’re perfect,” Tim whispers as he takes your hand.
You shake your head, but Tim squeezes your hand to reiterate his point.
“The dress is perfect,” you reply with a smile.
Tim picked it for you to try on and it ended up being your favorite. The surprise on his face when he first saw it was just as amazing as you anticipated. Now, at the altar before all your closest friends and those who have become family, you know that you’re living again, and nothing can take the life you have built with Tim.
“I love you,” Tim mouths as the crowd takes their seats.
“I love you more,” you reply silently.
“Hi,” you greet.
“Watch your step,” Tim chides as his hands move to your hips. “This is harder than it looks.”
“Sorry.”
Tim moves the bouquet into the crook of his elbow before taking your hands. The sun has set, and only ambient light illuminates the trail before you.
“Hi again,” you start over. “We got married, Mom.”
“Thanks to you,” Tim adds.
You don’t sit down, too worried about grass stains on your reception dress. Tim seems to understand why you stop farther back. He steps forward and sets the flowers at the base of the headstone before returning to your side.
“It was your daughter’s idea to give you her bouquet,” Tim says.
“And it was your son-in-law’s idea to do it before we left. Everything that I am and have is thanks to you, Mom. I miss you like crazy, but I know you’re with me everywhere I go.”
“She loved you,” Tim murmurs against your shoulder.
“She loved you, too,” you tell him. “We’re going on our honeymoon. I know you would’ve given me a hard time about the time off, but you’d also be happy for me. I love you, Mom.”
You turn away and smile at Tim. He nods before kissing you and whispering, “I’ll catch up.” When you’re out of earshot, he squats and says, “I will treat her better than you ever thought I would. Thank you for letting me be your son-in-law, Zoe.”
Four months after you return from your honeymoon, you walk into the Mid-Wilshire Station; not for work, but to visit Tim on your day off. Your smile is wide, and even Smitty notices your contagious excitement.
“Tim!” you call when you see him.
“Hi,” he greets as he turns to meet you. “What are you doing here?”
“I have something to show you. Can we go somewhere private?”
“Ooh,” Smitty interjects before pursing his lips.
“I would gladly go somewhere away from him,” Tim agrees.
He leads you into an empty break room before looking you over. Other than your growing smile, you look the same as you did when he left this morning.
“Here,” you say, passing him a small box.
Tim raises his brows before removing the lid. The small plastic stick inside causes him to freeze, and he slowly puts the lid back on and sets it down before cupping your face between his hands.
“We’re pregnant?” he asks softly.
You nod, and your smile falters for a moment before Tim’s smile grows to match yours. He pulls you into a kiss before wrapping his arms around your waist and spinning you around. As you gasp in surprise and excitement, you know that this is the life your mom and Tim talked about.
“What is happening in here?” Angela asks as she opens the door.
You nod at Tim, and he says, “We’re having a baby.”
“You’re pregnant?!” “Who’s pregnant?” Lucy asks from outside. She sees you and squeals before joining your hug with Angela. “Ooh, can I do your gender reveal party?”
“Not without me,” Angela answers.
“You’re not arguing with me, Tim. What’s wrong?”
“I can’t find a single thing wrong with this moment,” Tim admits as he pulls you into another hug.
“You really didn’t know about this?” Tim asks again.
“No! Just shoot it, Tim!” you cheer before placing your headphones on again.
Tim levels the gun in his hands before aiming at the target. A shooting range gender reveal sounded like the perfect idea, and you were happy to let Tim do the honors. As he pulls the trigger, you hold your breath for the millisecond it takes to hit the target.
The packet behind the target erupts and turns the range pink. You cheer before Tim picks you up and yells in excitement. He sets you down and kisses you before running his hands over your bump, where your daughter is healthy and growing.
“We’re having a girl,” he whispers in awe.
“I love you,” you reply.
You’re pulled apart by your friends, but the joy of everyone around you only increases your happiness.
The night after the gender reveal, you find yourself lying beside Tim, with your head on his chest as you watch your most recent ultrasound.
“Look at her little hands,” you coo. “She’s perfect.”
“Hey,” Tim says. You ignore him to point out something else. “We should name her Zoe.”
You sit up quickly, momentarily forgetting that you have a bump to impede your movements. Tim moves to accommodate your new position and smiles at the look on your face.
“What?” you ask.
“We should name her Zoe. Your mom got us here, and honoring and remembering her like that would- I think it’s a good idea.”
“It’s a great idea,” you agree. “Tim, thank you. For everything.”
“Of course.”
“No, you don’t know; you can’t imagine how much you and our relationship… how much you’ve done for me and what it means. I can’t thank you enough or tell you that I love you enough.”
“I love you more,” Tim says.
You smile wetly as tears gather in your eyes. Tim pulls you against his chest and restarts the ultrasound recording. When he whispers again that he loves you, your baby kicks. At this moment, you can’t imagine how different things would be without Tim, or if you had given up and stopped living. You’ll never know because of Tim Bradford.

Pairing: Tim Bradford x fem!Army vet!cop!reader
Summary: During a Christmas Eve night shift with Tim Bradford, you glimpse what is behind his tough exterior.
Warnings/Word Count: vague depictions of veteran-specific depression, brief angst, Tim yells at r, fluff and comfort. 1.1k+ words
A/N: This is a dynamic (Tim with a partner who was also in the Army) that I've had on my mind for a while. While this is a really fast-paced blurb-like fic specific to Christmas, I'd really love to write more of this pairing if anyone is interested. Sorry for the short length but I really wanted to get it done before Christmas Eve🫶🏼
Working the night shift on Christmas Eve feels like the opposite of a Christmas miracle. The long night is made worse when you’re partnered with Tim Bradford. He’s had something against you since you joined the department after leaving the Army. Though you’ve never spent more than a few hours with Mid-Wilshire’s grumpiest officer, you know he doesn’t like you, so you decide to stay quiet and obedient to make Santa’s job – and your own – a little easier tonight.
“Merry Christmas,” you greet as you enter the passenger seat of Tim’s shop.
Tim huffs, and you set a small treat bag of cookies from a nearby bakery in the console without a word.
“Thanks,” he mumbles.
“Is Christmas Eve usually hectic?” you inquire.
“Depends on the year. Based on the last few weeks, I’d say it’ll keep us busy.”
You nod, then inquire, “Any plans for Christmas tomorrow?”
“Nope. Heads up, grey Challenger.”
“I’ll run the plate,” you offer, secretly wishing you were in a sleigh rather than a shop.
“VA Hospital reported a disturbance,” dispatch radios. “Two armed men forced their way into a room and have barricaded themselves in with equipment.”
“Responding,” Tim replies. “Don’t.”
“Don’t what?” you inquire softly.
“Try to twist this into some merry Christmas thing. We’re vets, we know there are plenty of people like us spending the holidays alone, grieving for those we’ve lost, and I don’t need you to make this specific slice of reality any harder than it already is,” Tim snaps. “So, let’s deal with this call like it’s not Christmas and move on.”
As your shift comes to an end, with the brutal reminder that lonely people go to extremes even during the holidays and several emotional bruises from Tim snapping at you more than often, you try to remind him that he is not alone. Over the last few years, you’ve learned to take Tim’s attitude and swings from helpful superior to the short-tempered Bradford the station knows him as in stride.
Walking through the station to return to your lonely home, you’re surprised to hear Tim call your name. You turn to face him, and he pulls his backpack strap tighter against his shoulder. It’s nearing midnight, almost Christmas, and you’re expecting one more reprimand to conclude the all-but-perfect night shift.
“Do you want to come over for dinner?” he offers. “My sister dropped off a casserole this afternoon.”
“Dinner at midnight?” you clarify with a grin. “I’d love to. Only if you’re sure, I don’t want to impose on you on Christmas.”
“I’m free for the next few hours.”
You follow Tim out of the station and tip your head in thanks after he opens the passenger door of his truck for you. The ride to his house is quiet, only the low humming of instrumental Christmas music filling the space as Tim navigates the quiet (for once) streets of Los Angeles.
“What are you doing for Christmas?” you ask as you enter his home.
“Going to visit my sister and nephews for lunch and gifts,” he replies. “You?”
“I’ve got a few people to see.”
Tim nods and begins preparing the food. You start to speak simultaneously, and your expression of gratitude is cut short when you smile. “Go ahead,” you murmur.
“I wanted to apologize for earlier,” Tim begins. “I shouldn’t have snapped at you about the vet in the hospital. It just… it reminded me of one of the guys in my last unit. Seeing people like us struggling around the holidays is hard, but you know that, and I had no excuse to yell at you like that. So, I’m sorry.”
“I do know that, but I can also understand that your response is valid. I probably would have overstepped, and honestly I’d rather you yell at me before I can do something that pushes you away rather than letting me do it and suffer the consequences.”
Tim’s brows pinch as he asks, “And what do you think the consequences would be?”
“Let’s just say I would hate to end up on the Bradford Naughty List.”
Tim’s face shifts into a smile as he shakes his head, and you grin at him before offering to get plates for dinner.
Something shifts beneath your cheek, pulling you from a peaceful slumber. You don’t sleep well most nights, and for a moment, you think Christmas magic lulled you to sleep. Then you realize that the fabric under your face looks awfully familiar. Sitting up, you press your lips together as you watch Tim blink and look at you. You remember eating dinner side-by-side and watching a rerun of It’s a Wonderful Life. You had no intention of falling asleep together, or in his house, for that matter.
“You look your cutest like this,” Tim rumbles, his voice thick with sleep and concerningly unfiltered.
“But I just woke up,” you argue.
Tim nods, his full attention on you, and states, “I know what I said.”
“I- I should probably go. You have your family to visit. Merry Christmas, Tim, and thanks again for dinner.”
While you gather your things, Tim watches your movements from the couch.
“Why do you care so much?” he asks.
“About what?” you ask, looking up from your bag.
“Me, people… You tried to make last night feel like Christmas. Why?”
You shrug. “Everyone deserves some magic, and there’s no better time than Christmas. And, as for you… I have an idea of what it’s like. I do know that it’s not easy, and though I can’t imagine what you’ve dealt with specifically, you haven’t let it keep you from seeing the good in people. Even if you don’t let on that you do.”
“I see the bad too.”
“Job hazard. Despite seeing that bad side, you still let people close. That’s why I care about you, because you’re a good person.” Tim opens his mouth again, and you add, “That last point was objective, it’s not up for debate.”
“Do you want to stay?” Tim asks after a moment. “You shouldn’t be alone on Christmas, either.”
“Your family,” you remind him.
“I’m sure they have an extra plate,” Tim teases.
You gesture to your outfit and slept-on hair, but Tim stands and lays his hands on your shoulders.
“I already said you look your cutest like this.”
“Thought you were incoherent and half-asleep.”
“But don’t I see the good in people?”
Your head falls back as you groan. Tim offers to drive you home to let you get ready, and you realize that you wouldn’t mind spending Christmas with him and his family. Even if he yells at you and calls you cute mere hours apart. It’s part of his Tim Bradford charm.

first time you snuck out for a party:
You were walking downstairs to see your dad and your stepmom V dancing and making out in the kitchen. You make fake gagging noises. They turn around to see you.
“Blah! You guys are disgusting.” You say while laughing and getting something to eat out of the fridge.
“Ohhh but Y/N you are going experience this ‘disgustingness’ sooner or later.” Your dad said while going next to you to steal your bread. “Hey give me my bread back!” V laughs while seeing this cute little moment between you two. While you guys are chasing each other your phone buzzed.
V heard this. “Ooo who’s texting us?” She said with a smile. You check your phone. “Oh it’s just my friend Maddie-.”
“Ughh is that the weird one with all the piercings?” Kev asked while being disgusted.
“No that’s Mandy babe.” V answered for you.
“Hey back to my text. Anyway it’s just her asking to go to a party together but don’t worry I’m not going.”
“Hey what! Why aren’t you going?” Kev asked. You just shrugged. “I don’t like parties. I sneak out every time you guys have one in the bar.”
“With who?”
“Li- Liza…” It was Lip but they don’t have to know that. They both narrowed their eyes at you but didn’t say anything. “I’m going to the Gallaghers for a little bit.” They both nodded and you walked to your neighbors.
_____
You were in Lip’s room just talking and giggling with each other. “You know if my parents ask you anything about me sneaking out of the bar that one night, I snuck out with Liza ok?” He just nodded with a confused look on his face. “Do you wanna go to a party later tonight?” You nodded and realized that you already told your parents that you weren’t going.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing it’s just I told them that I wasn’t going.”
“Just sneak out.”
_____
As you were sneaking in after the party, you see your dad under a light.
“I thought you weren’t going to that party Y/N?”

“Ok before you get mad Liza convinced me and-.” You cut yourself off when your dad held up his hand. “I’m so proud of my little girl!” He got up and squeezed you in a hug. You are so confused. “You’re not mad?”
“No! Wait did you have sex of any kind?”
“No dad!”
“Then I’m not mad!”
when they find out you have a boyfriend:
You guys were sitting in the living room watching tv. And you get a text. You check to see who it is and it’s Lip saying and showing some dirty stuff. You giggle and put your phone face down. V saw this and nudged Kev.
“Why are smiling at your phone Y/N? Who’s texting us?” V asked with a smirk on her face.
“Nothing just Liza sent something funny.”
“Well can we see?” Kev asked.
“No it’s an inside joke.” You said while giggling.
They made a face at each other. You can hear them whispering and your dad gets up to the kitchen. “Y/N can you help me in the kitchen?! I need help!”
As you were getting up V got your phone, put in your password and saw ‘L ❤️’
“This picture definitely is not from a girl.” She whispered to herself.
You turn around since it was way too quiet and you see V on your phone. “Hey!” You run over and snatch your phone. “You have a boyfriend!”
“Oh my god my babygirl has a boyfriend!” Kev said while cheering.
Then you got bombarded with questions.
“Do we know him?”
“No he’s from the north side.”
Then the questions got worse.
“Oh my god you have a rich boyfriend!”
“Does he buy you stuff?”
Why did he have to send that?
when they find out the boyfriend is Lip:
Since your parents were out at the bar. You guys were in your room, making out and smiling at each other. “So they know you have a boyfriend now. What did you tell them?”
“Well I said that he’s from north side and my dad calls you you my rich hot daddy boyfriend.” He let out a little laugh. “And he’s right except for the rich part.” You laugh at the face he makes.
“Now let’s stop talking and keep making out with each other.” You lean in and he smiles into the kiss.
“What the fuck.”
You guys jumped off each other.
“Lip is the rich hot daddy boyfriend?!” Your dad yelled. He ran out to tell V.
“V come in Y/N’s room!”
She ran in and gasped. “Lip?!”
This is the worst.

The excess room in the transport van was much appreciated, as you, Eddie and Venom travelled to meet the famous Avengers. Eddie stayed with you for most of the journey, but Venom wanted to take over every now and then, complaining that he wanted to see you and that he was bored.
You knew the main reason for the van was to act as a somewhat transport cage for Venom, especially with the armed guards behind you and one in the passenger seat, but you understood.
Being with Eddie and Venom for the past two years and seeing what Venom could do, you completely understand peoples caution. Venom tried to act innocent and like he didn’t understand the need for armed guards, but he knew why, and you think deep down he was a little proud.
“Are we almost there?” Venom continued to complain.
“I think we’re pulling in now, Vee,” you smile sweetly and patiently at the large alien.
“Mr. Brock, it might be best for you to be the one to meet with the Avengers first,” the armed guard in front of you informed.
“What?! That’s not fair!”
The guards pulled their guns, and Venom smiled wide as he licked his fangs, obviously excited for a fight. You knew this was stressing Eddie out and that Venom could easily take these guys out, so to calm the situation you gently placed your hand on Venoms bicep.
“Hey, V, think of it this way, they see Eddie first and think it’s fine, and then when the times right you can make a big appearance, wowing and scaring everyone.”
You always knew how to stroke Venoms ego to make him behave.
“Very well,” he simply spoke as he let Eddie come back.
Seeing Eddie’s face and body once again, you both sighed a sigh of relief. Holding onto Eddie’s hand tightly, you see the van is slowing down and a woman in a professional looking pants suit and tablet is ready waiting for you.
Giving Eddie’s hand a last squeeze of encouragement, you both step out of the vehicle.
“You must be Eddie and Y/N, welcome to the Avengers headquarters. My name is Maria Hill, and I’ll be introducing you and ah- your friend to the team.”
Maria was sweet, although you could tell a little nervous. You and Eddie knew that the Avengers had seen lots of different and dangerous things, but it seems Venom is still a challenge for them.
Walking down the halls to the planned meeting area, Maria is pointing out different things about the building, where things are, what things do, who certain people are.
As you’re all about to step into the elevator together, you hear someone running over.
“Hey, hold the elevator!” You hear someone yell.
Turning around to look at who the voice belongs to, you notice it is no other than John Walker, aka Fake Cap, as you, Eddie and Venom call him. You knew you’d most likely encounter him today, and you all had to prepare each other to meet him, and be on your best behaviours.
“Ah, John good to see you,” Maria told him, obviously trying to hide a wince, “this is Eddie and Y/N. Eddie is a new potential recruit and Y/N is his partner.”
At hearing you were dating Eddie, something seemed to pass John’s eyes, a look of both intrigue and mischief, but whatever it was, it put you on edge.
“Nice to meet you, Y/N,” he spoke only to you as he stepped into the elevator with you, a little close for your liking.
Eddie put his arm around your waist and you could hear Venom growl. Eddie and Venoms protection of you seemed to amuse him, as he smiled creepily, and his eyes leered at you.
Facing the doors for the rest of the lift ride, you could still feel John’s eyes on you the whole time. Eddie’s grip on you got tighter and tighter as you could tell he was trying to hold back Venom.
You comforted them as they protected you.
Walking into the large lab-like room, the rest of the team stood around an area that was no doubt designed for Venom to show himself. Venom had a crowd and a podium, this is exactly what your little drama queen wanted.
After Maria had introduced you to the anxious group of heros, you let go of Eddie and encouraged him to step forward.
While you watched Venom appear through Eddie, you tried to ignore the way John’s eyes obviously bore into you, as if he was studying your actions. Venom stood to full height and waved at you like a kid at a talent show, your wave back seemed to interest John as his stare became even more intense.
Luckily for everyone, Venom was a little too busy showboating to notice how close John now stood to you.
“Alright, Vee, I think that’s enough, sweetheart, time to bring Eddie back,” you called to him as you could see he was getting a little too excited.
Being with both Eddie and Venom could be challenging sometimes, especially when Venom acted like a toddler, but you knew there was more to him than that. You knew how to wrangle him in, and he knew how to make you laugh and look after you.
The team seemed almost amazed that you could bring him back so easily, but the amazement quickly turned to relief as Eddie appeared again. Everyone parted for Eddie to stand beside you, except for Maria, who had most likely practised keeping her cool, this kid Peter who was more excited then scared, and of course, John.
“Alright well, if it’s alright with you Y/N, we’d like to talk with Eddie in private now. Please feel free to wait in the common room I showed you and we’ll come get you once we’re finished.”
You felt a little worried to leave your boys alone, but you made sure to give Eddie a comforting hug and whisper a stern ‘behave’ into Eddie’s ear, before you left.
********
The common room was nice, it was about midway up the tower with large glass windows to see all over the city. After such a long trip it was to your delight that the room was empty, so you could have any of the big comfy couches all to yourself.
Once you made yourself a drink from one of the fancy machines in the kitchen area, you got yourself comfortable and began to read with your warm drink.
It seemed the meeting with Eddie was taking longer than you thought it would, as you finish a chapter and your drink. Standing up you decide to go back to the kitchen to get a cool drink of water. Unfortunately as you turn toward the kitchen however, you almost run into John.
Seeing him alone, and now standing so close, you try your best to calm your breathing.
“Aren’t you supposed to be in the meeting?” You asked, trying your best to sound pleasant.
Instead of answering, he simply gave you a sly shrug and smile, as he pushed you against a table, trapping you between it and him.
“What the fuck, John?”
You try your best to shove him off, but it’s no use. Looking into his eyes with fear, his stare only appears predatory as one of his hands rests on your hip.
“What? You’re not gonna call me ‘sweetheart’ like you did with the monster? Hmm? Pretty thing like you dating both a man and a monster. What Brock not man enough for you? Need a monster to fuck you too? You really are a kinky little bitch. I like that.”
You were petrified, frozen in fear, as you prepared for him to kiss or grab you, but it never came. Instead you feel his body weight leave yours, and you see him thrown around the room.
Venom lets out a loud growl as he pinned him against the wall by his neck.
“How dare you speak to her like that! How dare you touch her!”
Still frozen from shock, you can’t move to stop him, and it seems like none of the rest of the team want to do anything either. John thrashes about in Venoms grip, and the team look like they’re trying to work out if and how to save him.
“This guys growing on me, I say we let him join,” Bucky laughs to Sam, everyone’s attention on Venom and not you.
Sam simply rolls his eyes at his friend and groans, realising he’s the one who has to stop all this.
“Alright, I think he’s had enough, big guy.”
You knew Sam wouldn’t be enough to stop him, and you didn’t want someone innocent being hurt by Venom.
“Venom!” You finally find your voice and call out.
You try to think of more to say, but as he and Eddie look at your trembling form, it’s enough for him to stop.
“My sweet,” Venom strides over to you, with each step he turns back into Eddie.
“Let’s get you outta here, sweetheart,” Eddie’s hand comes up to gently stroke your cheek.
“Um huh hmm, Eddie and Y/N, if you’d like to follow me, I can show you to a room for you to stay for the night,” Maria awkwardly interrupted, attempting to soothe the situation.
As if in a numb state, you simply followed Eddie while he gently drags you along. You seem to zone out the whole trip there, until you hear a buzz of your door opening.
“Come on, baby. Get you into bed and I’ll hold you.”
Eddie gently pulls you into the room, and begins to make you comfortable. Sweetly laying you down on the double bed, he takes off your shoes and socks, pulls the covers over you and crawls into bed on the other side of you.
“Come here, sweetheart,” he gentle coaxes as he opens his arms.
The second you lay on his warm chest, a floodgate of tears fall down your face, and the fear and anxiety hits you all at once.
“I’m sorry, baby. We love you so much,” Eddie coos as he rocks you, safe in his arms.

“Street, wait up, man,” Luca calls.
Street pauses by the door of S.W.A.T. HQ and turns to look at Luca. 20 Squad had an early day and Street’s been eager to get out of the station and relax. When Luca waits for Deacon and Hondo to walk by before he begins talking, Street narrows his eyes in suspicion.
“What do you want?” Street asks.
“I can’t just want to talk?” Luca defends.
“If you just wanted to talk, Deacon and Hondo overhearing wouldn’t have been a problem. Spit it out, man.”
“Fine. I’m going to be home late tonight and need the house tomorrow night.”
Street opens his mouth but doesn’t say anything. Luca tugs nervously on his backpack strap, which doesn’t go unnoticed by Street.
“There’s something that I need to do tomorrow, and I just- go ride around or visit friends, whatever you want to do, but I really need the house to myself,” Luca explains.
“What do you need to do?” Street inquires.
“Something that I can’t do with you asking questions.”
“Why-“
“Streeter, please.”
Street nods slowly before agreeing to find somewhere else to be tomorrow night. Luca’s the best roommate and friend he’s ever had, so despite all the questions he wants to ask, he’ll give Luca the space and privacy he needs. As they leave HQ, Luca turns left where Street turns right, and Street only becomes more curious about where Luca is going and how he’s spending his nights.
“Book club?” Street asks.
“Dude, do I look like I’d host a book club? Or be in one?” Luca replies.
“No offense, but kinda. You’ve got that soothing, welcoming personality, and you love people.”
“Who’s in a book club?” Deacon asks as he walks into the situation room.
“No one,” Luca answers.
“Luca disappeared last night, didn’t get home until well after midnight, and now he needs our house tonight. Won’t tell me why,” Street explains.
Deacon looks over at Luca, and he nods once. Luca thinks Deacon probably figured out exactly what has been taking Luca’s free time, but he trusts Deacon to keep it quiet and not push like Street.
“Well, Street, you’re welcome to come over for dinner since you’ve been evicted,” Deacon offers.
“Temporarily evicted,” Street corrects. “And, thanks, but I already found a way to kill a few hours.”
“Luca, enjoy the Street-free house,” Deacon adds as he leaves.
“Hey!” Street yells. “Wait, Luca, is Duke staying?”
“Where are we going?” you ask.
Luca told you during your date last night that he’d pick you up from work today because he had a surprise. Seeing your boyfriend two days in a row is unusual, but you’re certainly not complaining. The permanent smile on your face since you met is proof that there’s never too much time with Luca.
“We’ve been dating for a while, but we don’t spend time alone,” Luca begins. “Not that I don’t enjoy our date nights, but I thought it might be nice to have a night in for once.”
“That does sound nice,” you agree. “But we both have roommates.”
“I don’t have one tonight. Street agreed to let me have the house to myself for a while.”
“What did you tell him?”
“Not much. He asked a lot of questions, though.”
“You know, you’re not the first boyfriend I’ve had who didn’t want me to meet his friends. You are the first who said it was because of his friends and not me, though.”
“I’ll introduce you when the time is right. And we’re not starting with Street, that’s something that needs to be eased into.”
“Then who would you introduce me to first?”
Luca smiles, and when he reaches the last stop sign before his house, he turns to look at you.
“Deacon, probably,” he answers. “I think he already knows I’m seeing someone.”
“What makes you say that?”
“Deacon’s crazy intuitive, and the only one who has any idea what it’s like to be in a committed relationship.”
Luca turns into his driveway and races around the front of his truck to open your door and help you out. His house is cute, you think, but the work he’s doing in the neighborhood is even better than the house. As he opens the door, you hear a dog bark happily.
“Is that Duke? I get to meet Duke?” you ask excitedly.
“Yes, you do. He’s the best roommate I have.”
“When I meet Jim, I’m telling him you said that.”
“He already knows.”
Luca opens the door, and you step inside before being greeted by Duke. He’s just as kind and gentle as his owner, and you fall in love with him in a moment. As you kneel and pet him, letting him sniff your hand to introduce yourself, you’re glad for a quiet night in. You know Luca well, but you expect to see a different side of him away from the public eye, and the dangers he watches for outside.
“This is the best date you’ve ever taken me on,” you tell Luca as he helps you stand.
“I’ll remember that next time I get reservations at an expensive restaurant,” he jokes.
“You know I’d be happy with your cooking, or a food truck, or a microwave dinner as long as I’m sharing it with you.”
“Don’t get sappy yet,” Luca warns playfully.
You already feel comfortable in Luca’s house, and as you follow him into the kitchen you catch a glimpse of what the rest of your life will be like. Your favorite meal is waiting for you, and you hug Luca tightly to thank him. The night is perfect, and it’s just beginning.
“I’m so tired,” Street complains.
“Go home,” Chris answers. “That’s, like, the entire point of having a place to live.”
“I can’t. Luca said I can’t come home until later.”
“Why not?”
“Wouldn’t tell me. Deac probably knows.”
“If he didn’t say why, it must not be too important.”
Street looks up from his drink and snaps. His eyes are glassy as he points at Chris and agrees, “You’re so right. You’re so smart, Chris.”
“And maybe you need a ride home,” she suggests.
“I’m not drunk,” Street argues. “Just tired and I want to know what Luca is doing.”
“I’m not going to tell you that you should go home earlier to find out, but if you’re uncomfortable staying out any longer… Where else are you supposed to go?”
“Luca would kill me.”
“I love you,” you whisper.
Luca’s hand slows in its trail from your hip to your ribs and back down. His touch is both calming and electrifying, and you can’t imagine a life without Luca. He pulls your legs over his lap to bring you closer. What started as sitting on his couch to talk quickly turned to quiet confessions and cuddles, which you would like to be a nightly occurrence. Luca kisses your cheek before promising that he loves you.
“I’m never going to want to go on another date with you unless it’s just like this one,” you say.
Luca turns to look at your smile and cups your cheek before he agrees, “I’m sure we could work something out.”
“You’re gonna have to tell Street then. Duke already loves me, so we’re over halfway there.”
“Or I could just get him, like, arcade passes to keep him busy.”
“Luca.”
‘We’ll talk about it later,” Luca whispers as he leans in.
His hand moves from your cheek to the back of your neck as he kisses you. Already halfway in his lap, you lean forward and press your chest to his to return the affection. Your hands move to Luca’s shoulders, and you grip his shirt gently as you push yourself closer to him.
The door opens, and you pull away from Luca quickly as someone asks, “Is this why you didn’t want me to come home?”
“Street, what are you doing here?” Luca asks as he gently moves your legs off of his and stands.
“I forgot?”
“Any other night I would believe that,” Luca says.
He’s standing in front of you, but you peek around his side and wave. You introduce yourself and say hello to Street as he waves in return.
“Why are you back?” Luca asks again.
“I got tired, and Chris kind of convinced me that it wouldn’t be a terrible idea to come back early. I swear, Luca, I had no idea I was going to be interrupting.”
“Because I didn’t want to tell anyone yet!”
You stand and lay a hand on Luca’s back in an attempt to calm him down. Although you understand why he wants to wait, things don’t always work out like you want.
“I’m sorry, Luca,” Street says.
“Uh, Street?” you interrupt softly. “Do you want to keep a secret?”
“You want me to stay quiet about this? Absolutely; you don’t have to worry about that." He looks to Luca and adds, "I really am sorry, man.”
“Not exactly,” you say, though you look at Luca as you say it. “Want to start a book club?”
“I knew it,” Street says through his teeth.
“You guys want to come over for dinner?” Luca invites.
“Are you cooking?” Hondo asks quickly.
“Yeah, I am.”
“Then, I’m in.”
“Sure,” Deacon agrees. “I just have to be home by nine.”
“Nobody envies that, Deac,” Hondo teases.
“I’m down, too,” Tan says.
“Sounds good,” Chris adds.
“Alright. Come over whenever you’re ready, but food should be done in about an hour,” Luca calls over his shoulder.
“Bring your own silverware, I’m not doing dishes,” Street demands.
“Sure thing, playboy,” Victor says.
“Hello?” Street asks as he opens the door.
“Kitchen,” you call. “Are you aware that it’s still your house?”
“Doesn’t mean you have to feel uncomfortable or stay confined to Luca’s room.”
You smile and when Street raises his hands in question, you ask, “Are you ever going to let them know that you’re not a playboy anymore?”
“And lose all my credit and the best nickname I’ve ever had? Not likely, future Mrs. Luca.”
“Now that is the best nickname I’ve ever had.”
“Streeter!” Luca calls.
“Second best,” Street whispers before leaving your side to help Luca.
“How well do you think this is going to go, Duke?” you ask as you follow him into the living room.
“This is the only book that I could find seven copies of,” Luca explains as he dumps a bag of paperbacks on the coffee table.
“Bridgerton?” you read. “Luca, did you think maybe there was a reason there were so many?”
“It’s good enough for a TV show,” Street says.
He picks one up and begins reading the blurb on the back, and you watch his face go from curious to confused to disinterested and disgusted.
“Not good enough for a S.W.A.T. team,” you explain. “And now poor Street is scarred for life.”
“Good thing we’re not reading it,” Luca says. “They’re going to figure out far before they gain any interest in the book.”
Street shudders as he steps back from the books, and you laugh before returning to the kitchen. Luca is making dinner, but you claimed dessert and two different options are cooling on the counter. The doorbell rings and Street walks to the door as Luca arranges the books. You run into Luca’s bedroom to hide and wonder if Street will be able to keep a secret long enough to pull off the book club gag.
“Hey, Deac,” Luca greets. “Come on in.”
“Is your girlfriend here?” Deacon asks.
“How do you do that?” Street exclaims.
“Dude,” Luca sighs. “Yeah, she’s here.”
“The book club bit is a nice touch,” Deacon applauds. “Worst book you could have chosen though.”
“I agree,” Street says dramatically.
“Annie couldn’t finish these books.”
“Understandable.”
The doorbell rings again, and Deacon and Street quiet as the rest of 20 Squad enters the Luca/Street abode. With all of them talking over one another, you can’t tell how the conversation is going.
“Why is there an extra book?” Hondo asks. “Did you miscount for this joke or is that part of it?”
“No, there’s seven of us,” Luca answers.
“Me, you, Street, Tan, Deac, and Chris. That’s six, my man.”
“Plus, my girlfriend.”
Hondo, Tan, and Chris freeze. Luca expected a louder reaction, so the stunned silence is a surprise.
“Are we going to stand here in suspense, or do we get to meet her?” Deacon asks finally.
“Hi,” you say as you walk into the living room. “I’m-“
Halfway through your introduction, 20 Squad finds their voice again and Hondo, Chris, and Tan begin speaking over one another again to ask you questions. Street steps up and raises his hands to stop them.
“I can answer any questions you have about her. Because I’m a great roommate, and Luca’s best friend, and I already know her,” he says proudly.
“What’s her favorite book?” Luca asks.
“I can say with absolute certainty that it is not Bridgerton,” Street answers. He looks at you quickly to ask, “Right?”
“That is correct,” you affirm.
“It’s nice to meet you,” Deacon says as he shakes your hand. “Sorry Street was the welcome committee.”
“If I get to see Street, I get to see Duke, so it’s a win,” you tease.
“Okay, okay, let’s go back,” Hondo interjects. “How long have you been together?”
“Almost six months,” Luca replies.
“Six months? And we haven’t heard a thing? Luca, what did we do to deserve this?”
Luca glances at Chris, who is pulling you away from Deacon and talking so quickly you probably can’t understand anything.
“The interrogation I knew she’d get, mostly. No offense, Hondo, but when we’re all together it’s a lot to take in.”
“I get that, man, but you could have told us. We’re family.”
“I’m telling you now. With food.”
“Touché.”
“She’s going to be around for a long time, though,” Luca promises.
“I’m happy for you, man. Just let me know before you pop the question, would you?”
“I do have a ring,” Luca murmurs.
“Next book club, she ain’t here and we talk about that little piece of information,” Hondo declares before leaving Luca to join the small circle around you.
After everyone leaves, and you accept an invitation to join Annie and Deacon for dinner next week, you fall back on the couch and lean against Luca. He wraps an arm around your shoulders and tugs you closer to him.
“You were right. They’re a lot, but it’s clear that they care about you, Luca. I’m glad you have friends – family – like them,” you say.
“And now they’re yours,” Luca replies, “for as long as you stay with me.”
“I like that sound of that.”
Duke jumps onto the couch beside you, and you pet his head. Luca imagines how different this will be when you have a ring on your finger and smiles.
“There is just one thing I’d like you to do,” you request.
“Anything.”
“Pick a better book next time. Something by Michael Connelly or Doyle, anyone-“
Luca cuts you off with a kiss, and you both pretend not to hear Street tiptoe behind you to eat more brownies.

Pairing: Tim Bradford x fem!shy!reader
Summary: You enjoy going to Costco, so Tim decides to take you shopping on your birthday. With a little help from your best friend, it turns into a party.
Warnings: just fluff!
Word Count: 1.9k+ words
“Tim!” Lucy calls as he walks into the bullpen.
He stops and watches her as she skips toward him. Even though he rolls his eyes and shakes his head, she continues smiling and bounces when she reaches him.
“What are you doing for my best friend’s birthday?” she asks.
“Nothing,” Tim answers. “I will be doing something for my girlfriend’s birthday, though.”
“Just admit that she likes me more than you.”
“No.”
“Tim,” Lucy groans. She punches his arm playfully, then ignores his offended glare as she asks, “What do you have in mind?”
Tim shrugs and admits, “I’m not sure yet. I was thinking I may just take her to Costco or something.”
“Please tell me you’re kidding,” Wesley interjects.
“Why are you here?” Tim asks as he looks over. “And it’s none of your business, or yours, Lucy.”
“A trip to Costco is not romantic, Tim,” Wesley says. “But I have a client who needs my help. It seems you do, too, but Lucy can handle your girlfriend issues.”
“No one is handling anything!” Tim snaps.
“I’m with Wesley,” Angela comments from her desk.
“It never ends,” Tim sighs.
“She does love Costco,” Lucy agrees. “She’d enjoy going with you.”
“Wait,” Angela says. She chuckles as she looks up at Tim. “Your girlfriend, the shyest person I’ve ever met, likes going to Costco? The busiest store in existence?”
“Is it too late to back out of this conversation?” Tim asks.
“Absolutely,” Angela answers. “So, just a trip to Costco. That’s all the birthday girl gets?”
“I’d like to do more, but-“
“I’ve got it!” Lucy cheers, slapping Tim’s arm again.
“Stop hitting me!” he demands as he steps away from her.
“What if you surprise her at Costco? Like, her friends could ‘run into’ her while shopping, and then someone can have a cake or something at the café. It would be so fun, Tim!” Lucy suggests.
“That’s… it’s not a terrible idea,” Tim murmurs. “I don’t know how she’d feel about interacting with a bunch of people, though.”
“She loves us,” Angela reminds Tim. “Just a quick ‘hey, happy birthday’ and then she moves on. We don’t have to draw attention to her or anything.”
“Fine, yeah, let’s do it,” Tim agrees.
“Yay!” Lucy yells. “I’ll go invite the people she likes.”
Tim watches Lucy run through the bullpen and shakes his head. It’s a good thing you like Costco and Lucy, he thinks, because it’s certainly nothing he would have planned alone.
“What are you doing?” you ask softly.
Tim sets his phone aside and then places his arm back around you. As he pulls you against his side, he sighs.
“Checking to see how many seconds are left until your birthday,” he jokes. “Lucy had a question.”
“Is it going to be terrible?”
“It’s your birthday. It’s going to be great.”
Tim jostles you gently, and when you turn your face against his shoulder, you feel him chuckle. He enjoys making you shy, or simply reminding you of how shy you were when you first met. With your birthday coming up, you know that Tim has something planned. You can only hope that it’s a good surprise. As Tim pulls you closer, you listen to his heartbeat.
“I got Kojo treats at Costco today,” you tell him.
“Of course, you did,” Tim murmurs before he kisses your head.
“Go get ready, birthday girl,” Tim says.
He takes your plate to the kitchen, and you sneak Kojo a bite of your breakfast leftovers. Waking up to Tim making you breakfast was special, but since he told you that he had more planned for your birthday, you’ve grown more curious and more excited.
“To go where?” you ask.
“Shopping.”
You furrow your brows but stand and push your chair in regardless of your confusion. Tim isn’t a big fan of shopping, so you assume this particular shopping trip has to do with what day it is. After you’re dressed and ready, Tim takes your hand and leads you to his truck.
When he pulls into a turn lane, you feel confident you know where he’s taking you. You frequent Costco often; it's fun to browse and kill time in a place where you can disappear and go unnoticed every once in a while. Tim usually teases you for how much you use your Costco card, but he hasn’t made a single sarcastic comment today.
“Are we going to Costco?” you ask excitedly.
“We are,” Tim answers as he turns. “Unless you want to do something else.”
“No, this is great!”
Tim smiles and when he glances at you, you try to control your excitement and watch the road instead of him. You have a mental list of things you’d like to look at, and maybe treat yourself to since it is your birthday after all. Tim extends his hand over the console of his truck, and you happily lay your hand in his. He interlaces his fingers through yours and squeezes twice. The moment he parks, however, your hand is pulled from his as you exit the truck.
You walk through the entrance and take Tim’s hand again as you look at the promotional items in the front of the store. Tim watches you as you read signs and stop to touch an oversized stuffed animal. He knows what’s waiting for you inside, but seeing you so excited was worth the trip, he thinks.
“Well, look who it is.”
You turn quickly and smile when you see Angela. She pulls you into a hug as Tim and Wesley shake hands. They share a look, and you pinch your brows as you step back from Angela.
“Happy birthday,” she tells you. “Has Tim bought you anything yet?” “No,” you answer with a chuckle. “I’m just glad he finally came with me.”
“Tim Bradford saying no? I can’t imagine it.”
You laugh at Angela’s sarcasm, and Tim smiles at how happy you are. You’re always fun to be around, even if you are hiding against him because he made you shy, but birthday joy is a good look on you.
“There’s a sale on rings, Tim,” Wesley says.
Your eyes widen before you drop your gaze to the floor. There has been no discussion of getting engaged or married in your relationship with Tim, but it’s certainly somewhere you can see yourself going.
“It’s her birthday,” Tim chides. “Don’t do that to her.”
“Well, we have to get back to the kids,” Angela interjects. “They’ll riot soon if they don’t get their snacks. Enjoy the rest of your birthday!” “Thanks, Angela.”
You hug her once more and wave at Wesley before Tim lays his hands on your shoulders and steers you toward your favorite section of the store. He keeps a hand on you as you browse, moving when you do. It was a surprise to see someone you know, and on your birthday, no less, but you don’t think too much about the coincidence.
Until someone says, “Happy birthday!” down the aisle from you, at least.
“Hi, Sergeant Grey, Luna,” you greet.
You look toward Tim quickly, but he shrugs and lays his hand across your back.
“Will she ever call me anything other than Sergeant?” Wade asks Tim as Luna hugs you tightly.
“I’ve been trying to get her to call me Sergeant, but she won’t do it,” Tim laments.
“Ignore them,” Luna encourages you. “How’s the birthday going?”
“It’s great,” you answer. “Tim made me breakfast and hasn’t tortured me yet.”
“Yet,” Tim scoffs.
“We just ran into Angela and Wesley, too.”
“Small world,” Wade muses.
“Big city,” you argue, looking toward Tim.
“Do me a favor and buy yourself something amazing for your birthday, and I will see you at lunch next week,” Luna tells you. “Bye, Tim.”
Tim waves as they pass, and you cross your arms to look at him.
“What?” he asks with his brows raised.
“You’re doing something,” you accuse. “It’s too much of a coincidence.”
“I am doing something,” Tim admits. “Loving you.”
You drop your arms and tip your head back, which Tim takes as an opportunity to wrap you in a bear hug. You grip the back of his shirt, somewhere between shy because of the public affection and relieved because you need a hug.
“Alright, let’s go find you something to buy,” Tim declares. “For me to buy for you, I mean.”
“You don’t have to,” you say quietly.
“It’s your birthday, and it’s my boyfriend-ly duty.”
“That’s not a word,” you mumble as he leads you to the next aisle.
You browse several aisles before you see someone else you know, and now you’re convinced that Tim has orchestrated this. After running into at least a dozen people that you know and choosing not one but three things that you like, you and Tim approach the checkout lanes. He pays for your gifts and takes your hand.
As he leads you to the café seating area, you see your best friend, Lucy. Tim grumbles as you release his hand to approach her. You stop short when you see a birthday cake sitting on the table beside her.
“Happy birthday!” she calls as she rounds the table to hug you. “I’m so happy to see you!”
“You did all of this?” you ask, looking between Tim and Lucy.
“It was Tim’s idea, I just helped,” she says.
“Thank you,” you whisper.
“Don’t get shy yet, you have half of Mid-Wilshire to share that cake with,” Tim replies.
On cue, everyone you’ve run into today approaches the table to give you more birthday wishes and a few gifts. The attention makes you shy, but they’re your friends, and you appreciate them and their kindness more than you can, or would, say.
Lucy passes you a piece of cake and stands beside you as everyone else begins eating.
“Was it really Tim’s idea?” you ask.
“Yeah. He said he was going to bring you to Costco, and I just recommended a cake,” she says. “Unfortunately, I can’t take credit for the cake; Tim ordered it. Oh! I also have a gift for you in my car, so don’t leave before I give it to you.”
“You didn’t have to do that.”
“Yes, I did. We’re best friends, and you are the kindest, most special person I have ever met. If anyone deserves this kind of love on their birthday, it’s you.”
You set your plate down to hug Lucy and only release her when Tim grabs your waist. He laughs when you lean against him but drops his head and whispers to ask if you’re okay. Very early in your relationship, he learned your tells. He knows when you’re overwhelmed, when you’re getting shy enough that he needs to give you a minute, and every other little thing about you.
“I’m great,” you answer. “Thank you for all of this.”
“It’s the least I could do.”
“Seriously, it is,” Wesley adds. “Making you use your Costco card to get into your birthday celebration was certainly… a choice.”
“It’s perfect,” you say. “And all my friends are here.” “Plus these people,” Lucy jokes as she gestures to everyone else.
“You’re just her best friend because you can carry both sides of the conversation, so she never gets shy with you,” Nyla teases.
“And our mutual disdain for Tim’s weird humour,” Lucy adds.
“What’s that?” Tim asks, tipping his head toward you. “You want to leave now? Okay, let’s go.”
You laugh as he tries to pull you away, but you’re enjoying your Costco birthday party too much to leave. When Wade offers to stand on the table and tell all the other customers that it’s your big day, however, you consider taking Tim up on that offer.
Pairing: Brian Cole (Fantasy Island 2021) x fem!reader
Summary: After Brian leaves you because he loves being a survivalist more, he finds himself on Fantasy Island. While he learns that there is more to life than surviving, you chase a pipe dream involving a second chance you'll never get.
Warnings: angst, injury (broken leg), spoilers for 1x07 of Fantasy Island, very brief soulmate connection thing, fluff and reconciliation
Word Count: 2.3k+ words
A/N: I finally wrote Brian. His smile has been in my head for months and this idea forced its way out tonight.
Brian inhales deeply, taking in the serenity and beauty of the island.
“Welcome,” someone calls, “to Fantasy Island.”
“Hi,” he greets awkwardly, turning from the plane to face the beautiful woman welcoming him. “I’m-“
“Brian Cole. Did you come alone?”
“Yes. Was I not supposed to?”
The woman laughs, then explains, “It’s an island, Mr. Cole, there is often more than one visitor.”
“Oh, yeah, of course. No, it's just me.”
“I’m Elena Roarke,” she introduces, offering her hand and a warm smile. “You can leave your backpack.”
He drops her hand and then sets his backpack in the sand before he follows her. A white beach house sits between palm trees, and the curtains on the large windows flutter in the salt air breeze.
“Tell me, Mr. Cole, what is your fantasy?” Elena asks, gesturing for Brian to sit.
He lowers onto a light-colored sofa and fans his shirt gently. It’s humid but not uncomfortable. Despite his history as a survivalist and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity on the island, Brian is nervous face-to-face with Elena. Suddenly, he wonders if the people who said his fantasy would kill him were correct. If you were right. The last time you spoke to Brian, you had tears running down your face as you begged him to tell you why his obsession with surviving was more important than you. Why he would rather die than come home to you.
“I want the ultimate physical and mental challenge there is,” he answers, looking out at the waves to forget about you. “I want to know if I can overcome it.”
“Why?” Elena inquires. She gestures to the other side of the house, where a large sliding glass door reveals a grassy clearing surrounded by tropical foliage. “What about the outdoors and the dangers it holds makes it a fantasy for you?”
“I’m a survivalist,” he explains. “It’s part of you I am, and the uncertainty makes me feel alive. My… my ex called it an obsession, accused me of having a death wish and loving it more than her.”
“And you’re here to prove her wrong?”
“I’m here to be tested in ways I haven’t before. I want you to put me through the worst so I can show myself I can do it.”
“The island knows your fantasy,” Elena says. “When you exit this door, you’ll be where you want to be.”
“Don’t- don’t send any help. I have to do this alone. There can’t be rescue,” Brian says quietly.
“Of course, Mr. Cole.”
Brian nods and wipes his hands on his pants as he prepares to exit the beach house. Without his backpack, he’s more unprepared than usual. It’s the ultimate challenge, the survivalist fight he’s dreamed of for years. So, without thinking of you or the life he’s leaving behind should anything happen, Brian steps into the grass and the world changes.
“Hey, my friend wants to go on a hike this weekend,” your favorite coworker says. “Do you think Brian could recommend a trail?”
“He’s not into hiking,” you explain. “Dangerous survivalism is more his thing.”
“Oh, wow. That’s intense. It doesn’t concern you?”
You pull your bottom lip between your teeth, and when she tuts and moves closer to rub your back, you admit, “I think my concern is what made him leave.”
Brian moves through the forest, gathering items he can use as supplies. The multi-purpose tool and knife he keeps on his person serve useful, and by the time the sun dips behind the trees and sends long shadows across his path, he’s prepared to make camp for the night. In a clear space against a rock, Brian builds a small bed of leaves and stacks several dry branches to build a fire. He isn’t hungry, so he decides to find food later.
Something moves in the trees nearby, and Brian calls out, “Hello?” No one answers, so he tries, “Elena?”
The forest silences; only the wind in the branches answers him. He chalks the noise up to an animal and returns to work, determined to make a safe camp for the night.
When you get home, you try to forget the reminder of Brian and his obsession. Losing him hurts, and you think it always will. With a warm drink and a new book, you hope to move forward with your life, starting tonight. By the end of the second chapter, you can’t focus because you’re still thinking of Brian. You don’t know where he is, if he’s okay, or if he thinks about you. The first tear falls onto the page, and you slam the book closed. Brian loves to save himself, and you owe it to yourself to do the same.
The following morning, after a small breakfast of double-checked and properly identified berries and a cooked fish, Brian climbs a tree to get a better understanding of the forest around him.
“Does it feel better up here?” a small voice asks.
Brian looks down quickly. He barely catches himself on a nearby branch when he sees the young boy sitting beneath him.
“Who are you?” Brian demands.
“If you’re not going to use the knife, can I have it?” the boy inquires.
“No, it’s mine,” Brian argues.
“Then it’s mine too.”
“You’re saying that you’re me, what? 20 years ago.”
“Gosh, you’re old.”
“Watch it, kid.”
Brian looks away, convinced that he’s imagining his younger self.
“Are you married?” young Brian asks.
“No.”
“Have a girlfriend?”
“I did.”
“But you messed up? Why?”
“Shut up. I can’t answer your questions and get out of this jungle.”
“Apparently that’s not all you can’t do.”
“Okay, fine, I messed up!” Brian snaps. “I lost her, is that what you want to hear?”
His younger self watches him, then says, “I’d like the hear what you’re going to do about it.”
Brian doesn’t have an answer, but that realization doesn’t bother him as much when his foot slips from the branch, and the rock that gave him shelter last night seems to rush up toward him.
You wake a few hours later with a sharp pain shooting through your leg. Standing quickly, you wait for it to pass, then notice that the sun is rising, so you open your back door and sit on the porch to watch the day begin, entranced by its beauty.
Brian groans, clutching the top of his thigh before he cries out in pain. He looks down hesitantly and immediately knows he won’t walk away from this.
“Now the hallucinated company disappears,” he groans as he uses the rock to pull himself into a seated position. “Okay,” he grunts. “Compound fracture.”
After he looks around, he calculates how much time he has. He estimates six hours before sepsis sets in, and doesn’t doubt it will progress rapidly in the heat and humidity.
Brian closes his eyes. He doesn’t know how much time passes before something rests against his shoulder, and a featherlight touch trails up his arm. He mumbles your name, and a fleeting memory of a sigh answers. The touch and the weight disappear on a gust of wind, and Brian opens his eyes. Elena stands before him, frowning at the sight of his broken leg.
“Have you changed your mind about being rescued?” she asks.
“No,” he answers immediately. “You sound like my ex.”
“She was concerned about your death wish. Why are you really here?”
“Being trapped is the purest state of being,” Brian states. “This is how life is supposed to be.”
“Dying alone because you refuse to let people close?”
“You don’t understand.”
“Sounds like I’m not the only one. Good luck, Mr. Cole.”
Brian blinks, and Elena is gone. His younger self returns, carrying fruit and boiled water.
“I wasn’t this resourceful at your age,” Brian says.
“Why do you put yourself in dangerous situations over and over, then?”
“When I was a little older than you are now, I was abandoned in the woods with nothing. It was cold, and I couldn’t do anything but walk. A hiker found me; that’s the only reason I survived. I thought I got over it, and refused to feel that weak or lost again. Maybe I just buried that humiliation. My need to be out here, to survive, is what drove the only woman I’ve ever loved away.”
“The same girl I like?” young Brian asks hopefully.
“Wouldn’t you like to know.”
Brian closes his eyes and expects a sarcastic reply that doesn't come.
“There’s nothing wrong with you,” he assures. “I’m sorry I was harsh earlier.”
“The secret’s safe with me,” young Brian says softly, wiping tears with the back of his hand. “I’ll be fine. You will too.”
Brian nods, and the sun shines brightly above him when he opens his eyes. Only there are no trees to block the light. He sits up quickly, shocked to find himself on a cliff with no broken bones. Brian stands and follows the sunset through the forest and toward the beach. He smiles and runs faster when the air smells like the ocean again.
The plane descends as you near the destination of the one-day trip your friend insisted you take. Waves lap onto the sand as the sun glints beautifully off the water.
“What is this place?” you ask the pilot.
“Anything you want it to be. That’s why people love the island, I hear,” he replies.
You nod and sit back. After the plane lands, you pull your bag onto your shoulder and open the door.
“Welcome to Fantasy Island,” a woman greets as you drop into the sand. “I’m Elena Roarke.”
You say your first name, wondering who the woman is.
“Your friend tells me that you have a wish no one can grant,” she continues. “This island has a way of doing things like that.”
“I doubt it can do what I want,” you argue.
“You never know. Follow me.”
You walk through the sand as she leads you to a beach house. Inside, you run your fingers across the linen curtains.
“Has the island ever given someone a second chance with a person who doesn’t want one?” you ask. When in Rome - or on Fantasy Island, you think as you hint at your deepest desire.
Elena looks down the beach and then asks you to excuse her. You nod, and she walks out. Alone, you stare out at the ocean. Maybe you should have tried to be more adventurous instead of asking Brian to be less so.
“Welcome back,” Elena says, smiling as Brian emerges from the jungle. “And ahead of schedule.”
“Thank you,” Brian responds. “Thank you for showing me.”
“It’s the island. What now, Mr. Cole?”
“I’m going home. I’ve got… I have to apologize to someone.”
“Good luck.”
Brian hugs Elena as he thanks her again, and he feels complete now that he remembers why he started living like this and realizes that life isn't the same as it was back then.
“Before you leave,” Elena says, “stop in the house. There’s one more thing I think you should see before you leave.”
Brian nods and makes his way toward the coastal building, smiling as he takes his time, enjoying the beauty without thinking about how to use his surroundings for survival.
You hear footsteps, so you turn away from the photos displayed on the shelves beside the couch. When the approaching person steps through the door, you freeze.
“Hey,” Brian says, his smile dropping as his eyes widen in surprise.
You swallow and look at his muddy pants before you say, “Hi.”
Brian watches you as you pull your hands behind your back. He has so much to say that he doesn’t know where to start.
“I should… go. I don’t even know why I’m here,” you murmur.
You step toward the door, toward Brian, but he moves forward to stop you. Looking into his eyes, you wonder why he’s suddenly acting like he doesn’t want you to leave.
“You asked if I loved it,” he begins. “That night you asked if I loved going out on these adventures more than I loved you.”
“And you didn’t answer,” you remind him.
“I was running,” Brian interrupts. “I’ve been running since I was a kid, but keeping that from you, letting it get between us, was the worst mistake of my life.”
“What are you saying?” you whisper.
“I do love it,” Brian says. “Because it makes me feel in control. But I don’t love it more than you... And you shouldn’t believe me.”
You watch Brian, but his eyes are steady on you. He seems genuine. Yet the reminder of how much he hurt you eats at you.
“I messed up, too,” you confess. “I should have accepted it as part of you.”
“No,” Brian argues, shaking his head as he lays his hands on your forearms. “You are part of me. I’ve never told anyone this but the survivalism was a response, a way to feel strong and in control after a terrible experience and abandonment. It’s not an excuse, but it’s a reason.”
“I didn’t want to lose you,” you whisper. “I lived in constant fear that you would die and never come back to me.”
“I’m back,” he insists. “It took me too long, but I’m here now. As long as you want me, I’m here, and if you don’t want me, I understand.”
You raise your hand to Brian’s face and wipe a streak of dirt from his cheek. He leans into your touch, and you move closer to him. Tipping your chin up, you kiss Brian.
He pulls back when he feels a tear hit his thumb. Wiping your cheeks, he matches your smile. You can see it, feel it, and you wholly believe Brian when he says he loves you. This island deals in fantasies, you realize, but not always in the way you expect.
“I keep making you cry,” he murmurs.
“Do you want to go to the beach with me?” you ask.
“I’ll go anywhere with you.”
Elena watches Brian help you into the plane. He seems like a different man when he turns and waves at her before he joins your side.
“I’ll teach you to spearfish when we get there,” Brian says.
“Oh, no,” you reply, laughing before Brian cups the back of your head and kisses you.
“Another satisfied visitor,” she muses.
I just found this fic. Hopefully it will be good. It’s a Aldon fic.
It’s so criminal when you start watching a new show/movie, and realize after you are already in love with yet another fictional character, that there’s no fanfics at all.
I need people to start writing for Aldon Reese from Fubar and Patrick Jane from the Mentalist. Plssss
*it’s always sunny intro music plays*
pairing: charlie kelly x afab! reader (gender neutral up until the cut i’m pretty sure)
tags: smut!, age difference mentioned but vague (mostly just for a bit with dennis lmao i couldn’t resist), slight size difference, very cliche and weak plot, charlie has soft dom vibes, praise, slight possessiveness, cunnilingus, fingering, p in v, some dirty talk, some fluff
i tried to make the intro kinda read like a typical iasip episode. the nsfw starts after the cut! this story is very self-indulgent lmao but thanks for reading!
charlie comes into the bar one day where dennis and mac, who were bored out of their minds, turn their heads to greet him. dennis was behind the bar while mac sat in front of him nursing a beer.
“nice of you to show up for work, charlie,” dennis says dryly. but as charlie sits down on a stool with a small pout, dennis knows exactly why he’s been gone all day so far. “been catching up with the waitress again, huh?” dennis guesses, putting charlie’s stalking problem lightly. charlie huffs and rolls his eyes dramatically, confirming his suspicions.
“man, you’ve got to get over that girl.” mac chimes in.
“yeah, she’s crazy.” dennis scoffs.
“and not even that hot..” mac adds.
“ugh, shut up.” charlie interrupts them and buries his head in his arms on the counter. after a pause, he speaks again, his voice muffled and soft. “i know.. i know i have to get over her.” charlie agrees, taking his friends by surprise. not that they cared that much..
“you know, maybe you could try finding someone else? someone who actually likes you back. or at least, like, get laid.” mac suggests and dennis nods, neither of them really thinking much of the comment or expecting charlie to change his ways. but mac’s words make charlie pause.
“maybe.. you’re right.” charlie lifts his head up, a gleam in his eyes all of a sudden as he looks between dennis and mac. as if they’re reading his mind, they instantly try to backtrack, talking over each other and saying no. charlie interrupts them again.
“no, no guys! you’ve got to help me. set me up on a date!” charlie stands up now and approaches mac and dennis enthusiastically, giving a desperate look to both of them.
“bro..” mac sighs, hanging his head in his hand in exasperation.
“no way, charlie. it was just a suggestion.” dennis shakes his head. the two men are clearly not interested. they share a look, both of them thinking it would be nearly impossible to get any sane person to date charlie.
“oh, come on!” charlie yells, gesturing wildly with his arms. “i.. i’ll..” he stammers, trying to think of something he could do to reward them. “i’ll give you guys the week off. i’ll do all the work, including charlie work.” he finally promises, looking between them hopefully.
mac gives another dramatic sigh while dennis looks annoyed, but thoughtful.
“fine. i’m in.” mac says, standing from his seat.
“fine. but this better work,” dennis huffs, coming around the bar to point sternly at charlie. “you have to promise us that this is worth our time, that you’re actually going to try and get over that waitress.”
“i promise!” charlie celebrates as soon as they accept, pumping his fists in the air as his two friends head toward the front door of the pub. “oh yeah! just come find me whenever you got the goooods. i’ll be here.” he smiles and does finger guns at them, trying and failing to act cool. dennis grimaces, the weight of their task starting to weigh heavily on his shoulders.
“right, just.. take a shower or something, charlie.” he grumbles on the way out, slamming the door. but charlie doesn’t care at all about how irritated his friends are with him. all he’s thinking about is possibly getting lucky tonight. it wouldn’t be the waitress.. but for once a distraction, at least, is welcome.
“where the hell are we going to find someone crazy enough to go on a date with charlie? he’s a freak!” mac yells as he and dennis get in the range rover. “seriously, i love the dude. but anybody could spot that a mile away.”
“i don’t know, man. just forget about the ‘charlie’ of it all for now. we’ll go on the prowl, find ourselves a candidate and butter ‘em up. then we can throw them at charlie and just hope things work out somehow.” dennis suggests with a shrug. “sure, we’ll do our best. but we’re not miracle workers. we just gotta look for someone desperate. or stupid. or both, preferably.” he sighs. being able to find a serious companion for charlie didn’t even cross his mind as a possibility. “if all else fails, i’ll get frank to buy him a hooker or something.”
with that, they head to the mall and decide to pop into the first trendy clothing store they see. dennis scans the area for potential options while mac follows. “just leave it to me, buddy. i know exactly how to find the person we’re looking for.” he says with his typical air of superiority, both of them trying to act casual as they pass through the clothing. they wander around for a bit, but then, dennis spots one person in particular.
“ah, ah, ah. i think we might have a candidate,” he stops mac and leans in close for only him to hear, pointing at someone who was minding their own business looking through the t-shirts. “not bad, a little on the plain side. but i think that’s exactly what we want, way higher chance of being desperate. plus, they’re here all alone, probably lonely.” dennis analyzes them as if he was a genius, but really he was just being creepy and making assumptions. but mac, of course, goes along with it without question, looking impressed.
“man, you are good! they look a little young, though..”
“even better,” dennis comments, almost forgetting he wasn’t the one looking for a date. mac gives him a look. dennis clears his throat and quickly clarifies. “naive.” mac’s stern expression softens and he nods thoughtfully in understanding. with that, they approach.
“hi there,” dennis gives a charming grin. “i’m dennis. this is my buddy, mac.” he introduces him and mac and you look at them, a little confused.
“um, hello. i’m (y/n),” you reply, waiting for them to say what they’re approaching you for. dennis breaks the silence.
“ah, nice to meet you, (y/n). beautiful name. well, me and my friend here just wanted to say hi. we were both saying how good-looking you are, right mac?”
“right! you’re super hot-” dennis elbows his side. “i mean, uh, attractive!” mac gives a big smile, both of them pausing to see how you react. this is the real test. if you fall for this, you might just give charlie a chance.
“r-really?” not used to this kind of attention, your lips curl into a bashful smile, looking a little like a schoolgirl. the boys’ eyes light up. this is what they want to see.
“oh, yeah. most beautiful in the mall, hands down,” dennis winks, turning up the charm. “but hey.. listen, we’ve got a good friend named charlie. he’s been having a real rough time trying to get over this one girl. he’s a real sweetheart, and it hurts seeing him so down, you know?”
falling for the sympathy card, you frown. “oh, that’s horrible..” you reply.
“right? it sucks.. but we were thinking it might be nice to set him up with a date, get his mind off things. show him that there’s other fish in the sea, so to speak,” mac continues, easing you into their true purpose here. “would you be willing to meet him?”
your eyes widen, not expecting the request. a date for yourself was long overdue, not to mention whoever this mystery man was that they spoke of. and it’s not like you had anything better to do. and hey, if you didn’t like him you could back out, right? after considering for a moment, you slowly nod. “yeah, i guess so. why not?”
with that, the three of you leave the mall, going to a hole-in-the-wall bar they apparently own in south philly called paddy’s pub. you all walk in, and when you don’t immediately see charlie the two men instruct you to sit in a booth while they go find him.
but when dennis walks into the office, he finds charlie sitting behind the desk flipping through photos on a camera. dennis already has a feeling he knows what he’s doing, but charlie’s suspicious jump when he comes into the room says all he needs to know.
“what are you looking at there, charlie?” dennis asks pointedly, putting his hands on his hips.
mac comes in behind him. “what, what’s he got?”
“nothing!” charlie says quickly. “it’s nothing, man, just some random pictures. nothing special-“ he tries to brush it off before dennis snatches the camera away and quickly flips through the photos to see blurry, far-away photos of what looked to be the waitress. not even bothering to give charlie the benefit of the doubt, too annoyed after trying to find a date for him, he storms out of the room completely giving up.
“well, i’m sorry, but this man is a lost cause!” dennis rages while charlie gets up in a panic and follows him into the bar, not even processing yet that dennis was talking to someone else. mac rolls his eyes and goes to pour himself another beer.
“hey, hey, wait man! it’s not what it looks like!” charlie yells after him, lying poorly as he tries to get the camera back. that’s when his eyes catch you sitting in the booth. he stops and stares, forgetting all about the pictures for a moment, taking immediate interest.
“listen here, this man stalks the girls he likes. and that position is already filled. sorry to waste your time.” dennis announces to you, his anger pointed at charlie.
you just sit there, completely confused and unable to do anything but watch the chaos unfold.
“hey! i’m not a stalker, and l-let’s not jump to conclusions, man!” charlie tries his best to backtrack what dennis has unveiled, caring about your impression of him despite not even knowing you. stalking tendencies he may have had, but now that he’s looking at you it could be that that ‘position’ dennis spoke of just opened up.
as this strange interaction goes on before your eyes, you study the shorter man. he’s really handsome. definitely weird, a little disheveled. but funny, animated. cute. you probably should be running away, but the seriousness of their conversation starts to go right over your (possibly sick) head.
“you can stalk me if you want. i don’t mind,” you blurt out in a flirty, joking sort of way, looking right at charlie with a smile. this makes everyone in the room take pause. dennis eyes you incredulously as if he’s realizing you’re crazy. mac just raises his eyebrows and takes a swig of his drink. but charlie, he looks strangely flattered.
“really? i mean! i-i.. you got it all wrong. i’m not a stalker,” charlie says, raising his hands up at his sides.
“he is.” mac and dennis say in unison, making charlie grit his teeth.
“would you get out of here?!” he snaps. mac and dennis actually listen and head towards the door, not knowing what to think but happy that their job is over.
“see you in a week, bud.” mac says before the door to the bar slams. you just watch, not thinking much of it before turning your attention back to charlie.
“charlie, right? i’m (y/n).”
“uh..yeah, hi (y/n).” he replies, scratching the back of his neck in an awkward sort of way. “you don’t have to stay if you don’t want to..” he mumbles, not expecting you to want to be anywhere near him after hearing about his problems. he glances in your direction, wanting to kick himself for ruining another potential relationship. for some reason the waitress falls off of his mind when he looks at you.
“i’d like to stay. i think you’re cute.” you reply, making his ears turn rosy. “is that okay?”
“u-uh, um..” his eyes widen and it takes him a second to recover, not expecting this response at all. “y-yeah! that’s fine.. great, actually. would you, uh, would you like a drink? on me.” he smiles, remembering his manners and getting a sudden burst of joy now that his plan is actually coming to fruition. maybe he’ll be able to get over the waitress after all. and if not, maybe he’ll have a good night this with new person anyway.
you tell him your drink of choice and he makes it for you, taking a beer himself. he sits down across from you at the booth and you get to talking, the conversation flowing easily between you, an instant chemistry blooming. you both just met, but right off the bat there is a lot he really likes about you, and you can say the same for him. you like his scruffy beard and his smile. you like his quirky demeanor. the way his eyes brighten when he laughs and the expressiveness he has when he talks. his fluffy hair. and his hands. they’re soft yet manly. you start to imagine what they would feel like on you. this leads to wondering what he’s like in bed. he is a goofy sort of guy, but something tells you that he knows what he’s doing.
and as the alcohol blooms in your systems, these kinds of thoughts start to dominate both of your minds. you’re both starting to slur your words and giggle at everything. someway or another, you start comparing your heights.
“well, you know, i’m shorter than dennis and mac.. they always call me a little guy.” he says, shrugging. neither of you know how you got to this topic.
“how tall are you? i wanna see,” you say, suddenly getting out of your seat and motioning him to follow. you make him stand right in front of you, putting your hand on top of your head and moving it towards him to see where it lands.
“you’re taller than me.” you say with a small smile, your face inches away from his. oh, he likes that. he just nods. then you reach for his arm and start to compare your hand to his. hand to hand, your fingertips barely reach the first knuckles of his fingers. he swallows hard.
“you’re a little pipsqueak, aren’t you?” he smirks, teasing you. you pout slightly but he continues before you can reply. “don’t deny it. i’m one of the smallest guys i know. and you, my friend, don’t even compare.” he chuckles, enjoying the soft blush that colors your cheeks.
“yeah, yeah. whatever..” you roll your eyes, looking away.
“you’re cute.” he says.
“i am?”
“mhm.”
your hands still connected, he slowly interlocks your fingers. when you look at him he’s looking right into your eyes. his mind is running wild with all the thoughts of what he wants to do with you. to do to you. and by the look in your eyes, you feel the same. but he wants to hear you admit it first.
“whatcha thinking about?” he asks in a nonchalant way, a teasing look in his eye as he watches your face.
“i want to kiss you.”
“oh?” he raises his eyebrows playfully, pretending to be shocked. “how much have you had to drink?” he jokes as if you weren’t both knee deep in liquor.
“just- just a couple..” you pout again, the buzz making you easily embarrassed.
“you’re so cute.” he repeats with a laugh. this time, he brings his free hand up to your cheek as if he couldn’t resist.
“please?” you murmur when he doesn’t immediately kiss you. he smirks at this, before giving you a nod.
____________________________________________
he leans in, connecting your lips with his. it’s gentle, soft, and warm. your linked hands disconnect, his going to your waist while yours go around his shoulders, the action bringing your bodies closer together. feeling your curves underneath his hands and pressing against his body, he growls lightly and kisses you deeper.
things heat up fast, he’s walking you backwards until your butt meets the booth table, and he’s helping you to hop up and sit on it. one hand plants itself on your thigh, encouraging you to spread your legs so he can step between them and be all that much closer to you.
you break the kiss only to catch your breath. his free hand goes up to tangle in your hair while his mouth purposefully moves from your lips to your jawline and down your neck, angling you to give him better access. you’re beginning to think that your earlier suspicions about him are dead-on.
you let out a gasp as he sucks the sensitive skin beneath your ear into his mouth, nibbling there and leaving a small mark. he does the same around your pulse point, copying the action at multiple areas until you’re breathless and practically grinding against him.
“pretty,” he murmurs as he pulls away and admires his work, his voice taking on a husky quality that makes your stomach flip. he pulls away from your neck and his fingertips tease just beneath the hem of your shirt as he looks down at your flushed face.
“can i?”
you nod. he slides his palms underneath the fabric, feeling your soft skin as he helps you out of your shirt, tossing it aside. he sucks in a breath when he sees you in your lacy bra, before helping you out of that next.
freed from the fabric, your breasts spill out and into view. you shiver slightly, your nipples already hardening in the cool air.
he stares, entranced for a moment, licking his lips. his fingers twitch with the urge to touch but he forces himself to hold off, a mission in mind.
“i wanna see all of you.” his eyes flit back to yours, silently asking your approval, to which you nod eagerly once again.
with that, he moves to undo the button and zipper of your jeans in a flash, helping you lift your hips and wiggle out of them. when he catches sight of your panties, the gusset already damp with arousal, he bites back a groan.
“fuck, (y/n),” he rasps before bringing a hand to tease you through the thin fabric. you let out a whimper when his thumb catches your clit, and he looks like he can barely contain himself from devouring you whole right then and there. his other hand cups one of your tits, tweaking the nipple between his fingertips as your hips start to grind into his hand.
“you’re so responsive,” he chuckles softly, almost in amazement. he can hardly believe that this is all happening. you’re so sexy. you almost make him forget about his own needs, his cock hard and straining against his jeans. “feel good?”
“yeah,” you breathe out, in shambles already. he can tell you want, need more. and oh, he’s going to give it to you.
he leans in and presses a kiss to each breast before kissing down your stomach. to your surprise he kneels, now face-level with your clothed pussy.
“charlie..” you whine, the sight of him so close to where you need him most driving you crazy. you feel shy and desperate all at once.
he just hums in response, spreading your legs wider and beginning to plant soft kisses up your inner thighs, alternating between them. they’re meant to soothe but they just rile you up even more. you can feel his beard lightly scratching your skin on the way and it makes you nearly tremble with need.
this continues until he reaches your center, where he kisses at either side of your panties. you whine again and he grins to himself, satisfied, before finally taking the waistband between his fingers and pulling the last thing that’s covering you down your legs, revealing your soaked slit.
he takes hold of your legs, guiding them to rest over his shoulders and he brings a hand up to your pussy, gently spreading you out with his thumb. you can feel his breath fanning over your sensitive flesh before he gives you what you want.
his lips meet your cunt, his warm tongue sampling your wetness with one broad lick from bottom to top. you shudder at the sudden contact, letting out a gasp. he takes a firm hold of your hips, holding you in place before devouring you with gusto. lewd sounds fill the air along with your moans. he alternates between pressing his tongue inside you and sucking your clit, swirling his tongue around it in a way that makes your hips buck and your hands grip the table for dear life.
fuck, he could eat you out all night. listen to the sounds you make, savor your sweetness, feel you grind against his face. but that wouldn’t help the throbbing happening in his pants. getting a little selfish, he decides to move things along in a way he knows you won’t complain.
at the same time he draws your clit between his lips, he shifts slightly. bringing a hand down, he traces a finger between your folds, wetting the digit in your abundant slick before pushing in slowly but surely. you nearly squeak from the sudden combination of his mouth and fingers, your back arching off the table.
he soon adds another finger and pumps them in and out. when his fingers curl upwards and graze that spongy spot inside of you, you let out a high-pitched cry and begin to tighten. you’re getting close. he lifts his head for a moment, still fingering you steadily.
“(y/n),” he breathes, pupils dilating as he takes in your blissful state, head lolled back and skin flushed with pleasure. “can you cum twice for me?” he asks, eager to push you over the edge.
you look down at him, the hunger in his eyes and the evidence of your arousal on his lips nearly making you finish right there. you nod, mouth dry.
“good.” he hums, eyes flitting down to watch your pussy soak his fingers before looking back up at you. “want you to cum on my fingers and then on my cock. sound good?” he asks, making your head spin.
“yes, please,” you reply breathlessly. his fingers start to fuck you faster and deeper.
“mm,” he just grunts, biting his lip as if in a trance as he savors the sight of you before diving back in.
his lips pull your clit back into his mouth, sucking and flicking his tongue over the sensitive bundle of nerves while his fingers fuck you open. it doesn’t take you long at all to reach the edge, his name on your lips and your hands in his hair.
“oh fuck, charlie-” you whimper, your thighs quivering on either side of his head. he groans his approval against your pussy, the vibrations making your eyes roll back, and drapes a firm arm over your pelvis to keep you in place.
before you know it you’re moaning uncontrollably and writhing on the table as your orgasm crashes over you. he continues to stroke your fluttering walls and gently lap and suckle at your clit, letting you ride it out, in no rush at all. when you finally settle, he pulls back to see the aftermath.
he gently pulls out his fingers, bringing them to his mouth to clean them off before getting to his feet and leaning forward against the table, hovering over you.
“all good?” he asks, confidence clear in his voice as he takes in your dazed expression.
“absolutely.”
he grins. “you taste delicious,” he watches with satisfaction as you blush. “ready for more?”
you’re a bit winded, but still beyond aroused. “yes.”
he starts to undo his pants, but when he’s about to pull them down he pauses, looking down at you.
“are you comfortable?” he asks randomly.
you’re laying on a cheap bar table, so the answer is probably obvious. but you don’t really care about that sort of thing at a time like this.
“i’m okay.” you reply. but he clicks his tongue, not convinced.
“nah, come on. get up.” he instructs, taking you by the waist and guiding you up.
once you’re on your feet again, he sits down in the booth. you watch as he shimmies his pants and boxers down.
“c’mere.” he calls, motioning you over. and god, he looks sexy.
you do as he says, not really knowing what his plan is. but as he helps you to straddle his lap, you understand.
“there you go. perfect.” he murmurs, his encouragement in that soft, raspy voice making you melt. his hands find your hips, kneading lovingly at them before bringing one hand down to position himself underneath you.
“ready?” he grins, his eyes sparkling as they meet yours.
“mhm,” you nod, your breath catching a bit when you feel the head of his cock seek out your entrance.
“good girl, just let me in.” he coos as you start to lower yourself onto him. the praise makes your pussy flutter around him briefly and he bites back a growl at the feeling, his grip on your hips tightening ever so slightly.
eventually you sink all the way down and he bottoms out deep inside of you. the stretch, the fullness, it’s divine. you can feel every ridge, every vein, every curve molding your insides into his unique shape. you curse softly, savoring the feeling as you melt against him, your hands going to shoulders for support.
charlie feels your cunt pulse around him again and he groans. “god, you’re so sensitive aren’t you?” he teases, though he’s genuinely a bit amazed at how well you’re milking him already.
you nod with a light pout, cheeks flushed and eyes glassy. he’s not sure how you look so cute at a time like this. “you feel so good,” you whimper, rolling your hips on his lap. he chuckles at this, watching you with half-lidded eyes.
charlie’s content with letting you grind and cockwarm him like this, enjoying the feeling of himself deep inside of you. but the more selfish side of him wants to push you a bit, see how much you can take. plus, he doesn’t know if he can control himself much longer if you don’t move.
“i know, i know.. but, i believe we had a deal..” his lips curve into a small smirk as his eyes dance with yours. “you want to cum on my cock, don’t you?” he asks bluntly. you didn’t think you could get more turned on but you stood (or sat??) corrected.
“..yes.” you nod shyly. he chuckles lowly again and grabs your hips more purposefully.
“then ride me, baby. c’mon, i’ll help you.” he coaxes sweetly, his hands gently urging you to move. when you do, lifting your hips and sinking back down in one smooth motion, both of you moan. “fuck, that’s it. tight, wet, perfect little pussy..” he mutters between gritted teeth as his head falls back, his composure faltering.
as you build up the pace mewls fall past your lips. he lets you ride him by yourself for a little while, enjoying watching your tits bounce and your hair fall in your face before he can’t resist stepping in, unable to resist the urge to fuck you any longer. and so he starts to help you up and down, meeting your downward motions with his own upward thrusts. you gasp sharply, knowing instantly you won’t last long at this rate.
“that good?” charlie bites out cockily between panting breaths. he knows the answer, but he wants to hear you say it.
“god, yes.” you reply quickly, your face scrunching up from the pleasure. when you tighten around him he knows he’s on the right track, a primal, determined gleam in his eye as you start to fall apart. his cock twitches at the thought of you convulsing around him.
“can you rub your clit for me?” he asks.
“y-yeah..”
“go on.”
you reach down to do as he says, and this combined with him fucking up into you makes you see stars. your breath hitches and you let out a series of pornographic noises. you’re climbing rapidly to your peak for the second time of the night.
“mm, you look like heaven..” charlie rasps, his eyes raking over you greedily, so lost in pleasure and taking it so well. there’s no way he’s letting you go after this. “let go for me, baby. you can do it, i know you can.” he encourages, snapping his hips up a bit faster.
your fingers dig into his shoulder as you reach the edge. you cum with a broken cry and a string of curses and his name, riding it out until your head falls forward into the crook of his neck and you’re panting for breath, your arms wrapping around him as your orgasm settles.
“perfect, so perfect,” he grunts, still pulling you up and down on his cock. it was his turn to reach his peak, and he earned it. you whine into his neck, overstimulated and officially brainless, and he gently soothes you, contradicting the way he’s absolutely wrecking you. “shh, sweetness, it’s okay. just a little longer, you can take it.” he whispers, his voice turning to a low, possessive growl as he continues. “so fucking tight around me, jesus.. made for me..”
he fucks you a bit longer, mumbled words of praise and filth slipping out between grunts of pleasure. the veins in his neck pop out and his grip on your hips becomes tight enough to leave bruises. but soon he tenses up, cursing as he buries himself to the hilt one final time and finishes.
“fuck..” he pants as he comes down from his high, his hands immediately softening on your sides. his arms wrap around you and his lips graze your temple. “you okay?”
“mm..” you just hum, completely satisfied and exhausted.
“what’s that?” his lips quirk upwards, pulling back to look at your face. he’s looking for a full answer.
“i’m more than okay.” you tell him.
“good. same here.” there’s a gleam in his eyes as he looks at you, affection in his gaze. he didn’t want to let you go, but you couldn’t exactly stay like this in the middle of paddy’s pub. “let’s get you dressed and home safe, m’kay?”
he taps your hip gently, helping you off of his lap. he tries hard not to stare at the mess of your juices and his cum between your legs, the sight nearly making him hard all over again. he slips his pants back on and stands, finding your articles of clothing scattered on the floor and handing each to you.
once you’re dressed he walks you to your apartment which happened to not be that far away. at your door, both of you pause.
“you, uh.. you have a number or something?” charlie asks you, leaning against your doorframe. you smile and nod, pulling out a scrap of paper from your bag and writing it for him. he takes it and puts it in his pocket.
“alright, cool, well.. goodnight, (y/n)..” he smiles back, but doesn’t immediately move to leave. neither do you move to head inside your apartment. instead, you frown slightly, unwilling to say goodbye.
“would you want to stay the night?” you ask, looking at him hopefully.
“really?” a night away from his crappy futon sounds great, and the idea of sharing a bed with such a lovely companion instead of frank for once sounds heavenly. you nod and he happily accepts with a “hell yeah!”
