Trans Solidarity Werewolves🏳️⚧️🌕
I'm so sick of this.
I see a post, and think "Oh hey this person has really good takes on transmisogyny!"
And then I go to follow their blog and it’s full of rancid shit about trans men and nonbinary people they all assume to be AFAB.
I hate that this is happening more often lately. It’s not hard to advocate for trans women without tearing other minorities down.
trans guys: hey! this awful violating thing can and has happened to us and we need to be more aware of it as things get worse for trans ppl everywhere
the stupidest people alive: but have you considered it makes me personally feel bad when you talk about it? and actually youre a bigot for even bringing it up in the first place because what about the people that cant have that happen to them but have other similar things happen? honestly i think you just hate trans women and cant stand when things arent about you
trans unity
What sucks is that both nonbinary people and trans men are infantilized all the goddamn time, so using "child" at all would be transphobic as hell.
Also, I don't buy the “tumblr kept showing me your slop” bit. This person has been leaving snarky little comments on different posts of mine throughout the week. Pretty sure this was a hate-reading my blog situation, and if that's the case there's no way someone wouldn't see my pronouns.
But I guess misgendering me suited those arguments better!
My posts are all: "Hey, don't talk over trans men when they want to discuss their oppression!" "Nonbinary people aren't being treated very well right now, and we're being erased by the rest of the community." "Trans men and trans women aren't enemies." "Care about identities that aren't your own, include other trans people in your advocacy."
Which is apparently a grave enough offense to misgender me and compare me to a nazi, go figures.
It goes to show that some people are really transphobic before they transition, and they refuse to address this after their egg cracks.
i blocked like 5 popular transandrophobes and the death and rape threats immediately stopped. what a weird coincidence
*grabs your hands and speaks to you in a tone that is so gentle* they/them pronouns stop being universal once you learn a person's pronouns. Sometimes that person's pronouns will include they/them and in that specific case you are allowed to keep using those pronouns for that person. In any case where you learn a persons pronouns and that person doesn't use they/them, you should no longer use those pronouns for that person. If you continue to use they/them pronouns knowing that person doesn't use them, you are now misgendering that person. Kindly stop doing that please. Thank you, I love you.
This person, who made the "transfem cultural appropriation" list, is the one who said it
Also, as an agender person, I would politely request that people not claim it as something specific to trans men, either. Dysphoria hoodies can be used by any trans person who needs one.
Wait are these assholes trying to claim the concept of a dysphoria hoodie was stolen from trans women
Dysphoria Hoodies??? Really? As we know, the concept of wearing a Baggy Article of Clothing to deal with your dysphoria was nonexistent until the first ever trans woman discovered the magic of the hoodie.
Really???
I was wearing those before I knew what being trans was! Shockingly, if you're dysphoric about a part of your body, your first instinct may be to cover it up with easily available gender-neutral clothing... such as, I don't know, a hoodie? But no, those mean transmascs and nonbinaries stole it from women, who would have guessed :(
Guess we gotta add it to the list, along with "cat ear headphones" and "eggs" and "liking anime."
btw the default state of trans men is not dead.
the default state of trans men is alive.
if they are not alive there is a problem.
if their deaths are not being recorded that is a problem.
if you use the fact that their deaths aren't recorded to imply they aren't dying you are a piece of shit.
i just remembered that back in elementary and high school, i was friends with a lot of guys and most of them were boy scouts. we were such a tight knit group that it sucked that i was getting left out of things that they wanted me to be a part of. these were all cishet identifying boys at the time, and because i was expressing that i wished i could be in scouts with them, they actually went to their scout leader on my behalf to ask if i could be let in even though i was a "girl". they didn't see me as any different than them. they didn't understand why i couldn't be a part of it.
if you ask me, that's all the proof anyone needs that transphobia & misogyny are learned, not innate. these boys were not old enough to have it drilled into their head at "girls" can't do things that boys "can". they were too young to understand that a "girl" wanting to be masc and seen as a boy could ever be a "bad thing". they saw me as one of the boys. it was never questioned. i actually visited all of these friends after i transitioned and started T and none of them had issues.
they always saw me as one of the boys, to the point of fighting on my behalf to try to get me accepted into their boyscout troop. transphobia, misogyny, and all of these other forms of hatred are learned. not innate. don't let anyone brainwash you into thinking that boys and men are inherently hateful. they're not
